So... Can we just change the archetype for Oxygen SR3?

I feel like making this a high impact solves a lot of issues. Ever taken that 1 shot on a low tier ad and only to find them with a sliver of health? Yeah that's this archetype's problem in PvE(and PvP for that matter). Now that we can finally 1-tap most low tier ads in game, I feel like this weapon will get a noticeable bump in usage. It's not even that much work really. You guys have done this before, Luna's Howl/Not Forgotten anyone? I don't see why it can't be done here. I love the idea of the weapon but that's just it, the idea is good. The performance leaves a lot to be desired.

  • The real problem with Oxygen is the scope. It's just too clunky and awkward. Changing it to a short/mid range scope would make the gun feel better to use.

    • A question: wouldn't it make more sense to leave it the archetype it is, so it's Meganeura ability gets stronger? Personally, you can see that both ways. One way, it would one-tap enemies, but would have less crowd-control potential. Or the other way around.

      • They need to buff scouts 25% across the board, they are a bit weak compared to D1 scouts.I had over 500k kills with scouts in D1 so I do like them. If they would just keep the oxygen the same but give it firefly and triple tap all would be well,of course after a 25% base damage buff(to all scouts).

        • I miss d1 scouts. They were my weapon of choice for sure, now they can’t one shot much if anything and I hate them.

          • Would work better as a lightweight frame like that Dreaming City scout

          • Merge Dragonfly into Meganeura and make it stronger so you don't have to add the dragonfly spec to it, then add rapid hit as the first column perk. Then I'd use the hellllllll outta that monster! Rapid hit seems like it was made for this type of gun. This weapon is focused on headshots so why not have the best headshot perk in the game on this pinnacle weapon? Are they afraid of it turning into another Mountaintop, Luna/NF, Loaded Question, 21%, Recluse, Revoker, or Randy's? Because those weapons have a ton of use and deserve their title of Pinnacle/Ritual. Even the Buzzard is insane right now in the current sandbox and it's a sidearm. Python is great and will predictably get much better if next season's artifact focuses on shotguns. Once the Breakneck gets fixed, Oxygen will go back to being the weakest pinnacle weapon, even weaker then ritual weapons (Komodo anyone?) which are made to be inferior to pinnacles. [RANT] That being said, there are not many instances in the game where you can utilize a long range "Loaded Question" type explosion. The very first long range shot into an enemy scares all nearby enemies and they hide, making it impossible to really make the best of this range the gun is toting. Think about the hand cannons in the game right now with dragonfly. Their aim assist is absurd and they are flexible in mid to close range. Their low skill gap and ability to work in any pve situation makes them the ideal primary choice when it comes to using the dragonfly perk. Think about how many people are grinding for a dragonfly sniper? Why do we need a long range dragonfly weapon when the enemy ai's spider sense goes off when my scope simply hovers over them at ANY DISTANCE. Strikes are so fast paced right now that standing at a distance to patiently headshot enemies is a waste of time. Even in high skill nightfalls where you probably want to keep your distance, Oxygen struggle to even break a solar shield let alone wastes a few shots when killing a lowly dreg. I just feel like Oxygen is a weapon with no place in the game, pve or pvp. 180's are not in a good place compared to the buffed 260's and the versatile 200's. If it weren't for the ridiculous aim assist on Jade Rabbit and Polaris Lance then 150's would have a terrible reputation too. In the devs defense, nobody wants a D2 vanilla repeat in crucible with team shooting scout battles, but make this weapon a mf BOSS in pve! Please!

          • High impact is terrible. Make it a lightweight.

          • The high impact and precision frame scouts need to be closer, if not the same, as they were in Destiny 1. Unable to kill low tier adds with a headshot and how slow they fire makes them a liability in almost everything you do.

            • I actually really like the Oxygen, but that's mainly because I just love Scout Rifles with Firefly/Dragonfly. I wouldn't be opposed to a buff though.

            • It being a rapid fire frame could work too.

            • The dragonfly perk itself could use a buff.

            • I'd rather the whole weapon just be reworked, I only use it for scout rifle bounties because I have sidearms that can perform better against red bar enemies than this pinnacle scout rifle.
