If artifacts are going to be a thing from now on, light level advantage in iron banner NEEDS to be disabled. It is anything but skillful to die in an encounter simply because my bullets are doing less damage than they are supposed to, especially if I would have traditionally won the engagement.
All power level shows is how much time you play, there is no crucible skill involved in it so why does it define the outcome of crucible engagements?
I was all for power level advantage until the artifacts were introduced, the infinite power cap is getting out of hand.

Power level is fine, artifact level is not. Seriously I went against a 990 light guardian the last iron banner and the guy was almost immortal because I had only 940 light at the time.

2 RepliesThe power level advantage should always be in place during IB .. If it isn't than there no reason for the event to come around.. With that being said if the artifact is truly having a negative effect inside IB they should look into it and if it turns out it is causing people to have too much of an advantage they should disable it and cap players at whatever their gear score is

2 RepliesEdited by Cosmic Owl: 1/23/2020 4:07:58 PMYour guardians are all 975+ you’re fine. That’s where I’m at and the only trouble I’ve had is crappy connections. It’s my understanding that even 20 levels isn’t a huge advantage. If you’re playing well you should be just fine.

Although it wouldn't bother me one way or the other, I think you're wrong about "advantage" for the most part. I played on my cousin's account recently and he's only 880. The experience wasn't in the least bit unpleasant compared to my 980+ characters. That being said.... if you're 750 light you need to do a whole lot of things in this game before asking everyone to cater to you.

1 ReplySo remove power level advantages and make it into normal Control with a powerplay lock mechanism? You're just asking it to be removed from the game. If you want to show off skill go play Comp or even QP. Next thing people are going to ask is to remove level advantage/disadvantage in NFs and Raids as well because that also just shows how much time you have played.

1 Reply😁😁😁😁 They did remove LL advantage i Yr 1.. People hated it. Thats the point of IB. Quit complaining.

I disagree. Iron banner is an end game event.. I understand your point, but this mode rewards those that put in their time.. And yes, to even those that are addicted to pve and avoid pvp... < the reward for gaining a power advantage opens the door for them to get a little lucky in pvp. Skill ALWAYS wins.. so you just have to find another approach and utilize your skill. Skill is not a k/d... it is the use of your brain by utilizing everything you have to better your situation.

Power level advantages are a fundamental part of IB. Without them it is garbage

1 ReplyIron Banner has basically always had LL advantages. The thing is, it wasn't as agressive as today. From what I heard even like 10LL makes a difference now.

Power level should be locked at 970 like gear scores.

1 ReplyEdited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 1/23/2020 7:58:41 AMLight level advantage was good in IB pre-shadowkeep when light level progress was tied to pinnacles only and capped through that. It's outdated design now with artifacts removing the level cap and enabling infinite level ups that're realistically tied to pve bounty grind time investment. Unless there's a cap on light level advantages in place already where it stops providing extra advantage past certain level difference bungo needs to rethink the concept.

That said I think the Dev team should be keeping a close eye on this subject, and if the delta between levels needs to be adjusted from the pre-artifact settings, it’s probably a good thing to do. That said everyone basically started at 950 so it shouldn’t be that bad. Something for them to be aware of, but not a definite “problem”.
