I get it, I'm with you 100%. But it's not changing, Bungie thinks this hodgepodge of game modes is what's best for Destiny. Right, wrong, doesn't matter. It's what they're going with. So if they aren't changing, I'd suggest you do before you pop a vessel. I learned to live without the crucible pinnacles/Trials gear. Just ignored it, I wasn't going through that mess. I've suffered through every exotic quest, but that was still my choice. (and I subsequently just went through and got all the pinnacle gear last season) But next step would just be to walk away and find games that put a smile on your face, that's what they exist for right? I dunno, I think this game is like the Matrix. People refuse to accept something unless it's imperfect and drives them nuts sometimes.

1 ReplyReally? Crucible makes everything easy. The max they ever require you to get is 10 of anything and those pinnacle PvP weapons are very fun to grind. The only ignorant thing they can ask for is wins, melee, grenade and power weapon kills. Then again you can always wait till mayhem week. PvE it could something and long and boring as complete 10 strike...kill 1000 enemies...yeah no thanks PvE really is stale at the moment.

2 RepliesA quest in any game typically consists of two things: 1. A task that is required of you to perform (required is a better word than forced here, because no one is forcing anyone). 2. You get a reward because you completed said task. This is not strange, weird or even unfair in anyway - that's just how it works. Both in games and even in real life. You don't have to like it, but if you want the reward for a quest that takes place in PVP, well - you need to play PVP.

Literally like what, 6 exotics require just stepping into PvP to get them. One of them is literally just participation in a rumble match (rat king). There are FAR more exotics that are earned in strictly PvE settings. This game is both PvE and PvP. Both, not one or the other. Therefore Bungie tries to have both aspects be relevant in weapon quests occasionally, not just for their campaign/pvp replayability. Bungie isn't forcing it btw. It is simply a required step to attain it. And that last statement is absolutely not necessary. Everyone has an opinion and should be equally valued. You post on a public forum, and thus people of differing or even the same opinion have just as much right as anyone to reply here with their own opinion.

2 RepliesThere are like 5 or 6 different crucible game modes you can choose from, most modes are skill based matchmaking so you get pairs with people around your skill. Learn to play with hand cannons cause they are deadly. Personally I would go with a 180 rpm because less recoil and less bloom which makes a big difference if you aren’t used to hand cannons, also use a hip fire mod 👍 then look for those people with scouts and snipers, they are the ones you want to go after, move around a lot and stay out of open lanes till you get in close enough to where your HC is deadly and their ranged weapon is more difficult to use. Alternately throw on a sniper/scout with last word if you have last word and use it like an smg - close but not shotgun close, jump around like an ape and hip fire the shit out of it. Use mods in your armor to help with targeting, flinch, and dexterity so you can swap to your HC to finish off red bars. I get that people don’t like crucible but I also feel like it’s a broad statement and that people don’t actually try different modes, they just play iron banner or control and think crucible is trash. I personally hate 6v6 crucible like control and iron banner. However, I really enjoy rumble, elimination, survival, and the 4v4 rotators usually. SBMM means you should be placed in matches more otter than not with people around your skill, so if you are sucking it up with a HC it won’t be long before you are matched against players who are doing just as bad regardless of the weapons they use. But if you are trying to do this in a 6v6 mode chances are you are going to keep getting double and triple teamed unless YOU stay with your teammates. Be thankful the exotic quests that require crucible aren’t anything like the crucible pinnacle quests and good luck. It’s really not nearly as bad as you are making it out to be, you just have to learn to play a bit different. Hell you might even start enjoying it if you start to build skill at it

4 RepliesWhat's the big deal? The door swings both ways. PVPers are "forced" to do a lot of PVE activities they normally wouldn't do to get certain weapons. What weapon are you trying to get that is requiring you to run PVP?

I actually enjoy it. These types of things have been in the game since vanilla destiny 1. Thorn and invective exotics. The crucible parts in quests are pretty easy now compared to destiny 1. If you are concerned about the amount of PvP, will you watch reviews so you know to buy a game in the future? PvP is a big part of destiny and they try to promote all parts.

Heres the thing man, you dont *have* to get the gun, if it makes you that mad dont do it. That being said if you really want the gun but youre struggling just equip a 110rpm handcannon (highly recomend sturm if you have it) and just follow who ever is on top of your team and wait for them to get someone low and yoink the kill. Also man its only fair that the pvp players have something to chase, they cant even masterwork their armour without going and doing pve stuff.
