Hey folks, this post is primarily for those who enjoy PVP in D2 but are still trying to reach Legend 5500 Rank in comp. Just this season i actually reached Legend and finally got the last ( old ) pinnacle weapon off my list ( Not Forgotten ), all of this i did 90% solo with only a few games with friends.
I figured since i could reach this rank and obtain all the weapons solo then it is possible for any one, i am no great player by any stretch of the imagination, some days my aim is completely absent, but i try and keep my mind open.
This post is not for those looking to moan about how unfair things are or how broken some weapons are but just some tips for those who may be feel like they are stuck and may never reach that goal ( you will ).
Most important to bare in mind is that a positive attitude is far more important than aim or having X weapon equipped, sure having certain weapons can be beneficial but not essential as there are so many to chose from and some are easy to get, even from collections.
Tip 1 - Pick the class that works best for YOU, if you feel you do better as Warlock then start with Warlock, same with Titan or Hunter. Don't go with what you feel is most OP according to Meta or current trends, play what works for you best !
Tip 2 - Experiment with different exotic armor pieces, just using what everyone else uses means you learn nothing new and you may lose out on improving other skills . There are many exotics overlooked so experiment with different builds, try something with faster ability regen or constant nades, high mobility etc. Try anything that is not currently being overused you may find something that really works for your play style.
Tip 3 - Weapons - Try all different weapons, pick some out of collections and give them a whirl, you may be surprised at how good some of them are. Playing with different weapons other than the meta helps improve your overall gameplay and helps you to find what weapons suit you best. Just because everyone else is running with Spare Rations/Thorn does not mean any other weapon is useless, try that Duke you keep scrapping or Better Devils from Shax :) Meta weapons are great but they are not for everyone's play style
Tip 4 - Play around with your builds, no matter how crazy you think something is, give it a try. Mod slots , use them as much as you can and build something different each week to test in game, you will find out quickly what works and may even find an awesome build that nets you some great games with high scores. Try your own builds not what others say to use !
Tip 5 - Stick with teammates - This is crucial aspect of comp, learning when to group up close and keep good distance is key and depends also on map type as well as enemy team. Always check enemy team and see what they are using, this will give you an idea as to how you can counter them, if you see shotguns avoid rushing corners, see snipers then avoid open and popular sniping lanes. Stay close so you can help teammates but not so close a sniper or shoty can take you both out easily.
Tip 6 - Anticipate - People play in certain ways and often you can anticipate what an enemy will do in a given situation, if you saw a sniper scope glinting when you peaked a corner then DO NOT RE PEAK. Snipers are creatures of habit so be irratic , avoid open lanes, change direction and use vertical space where possible, and never ever re peak when you have seen them scoping you ! Enemy is using a shotgun, avoid corners or places with little to no escape, create room for yourself and your team to shoot them down when they aggress. Lord of wolves user, no problem, keep distance, avoid corners and build into mobility to create space between you and the enemy quickly !!
TLDR - Find class that suits you, try all weapons not just meta, experiment with different builds, play as a team, learn from mistakes, be patient, stop playing when you are losing heavily. NEVER GET ANGRY it only makes you play worse and you may have a better day tomorrow.
I appreciate the game is far from perfect and yes there are many annoying weapons, exotic armor pieces being over used/abused, but despite this it is possible to reach Legend rank ( even easier this season ) even with all these challenges.
If you have the means to record your own games then this can also be a great tool for looking over where you go wrong, watching a video of your own play whilst not under pressure can be quite revealing and often helpful in improving.
Anyway this post has already gotten too long so i will finish for now but never give up, you can reach that goal with the right mindset :)

8 RepliesHi! I'm trying to achieve the same thing but I got a problem. My Glory gains / looses are absolutely broken compared what I heard from others. Can someone help me is this normal and I'm mistaken? Glory / streak 3512 1 3447 0 3487 1 3544 2 3479 1 3419 0 3459 1 3399 0 3439 1 I earn like 40 for a win and loose minimum 60 (with streaks it's getting worse) ...

So pretty much just have fun but don't simply goof off. Only problem is having fun in Crucible .-. I guess it's more fun than Gambit at least.

2 RepliesThis is a pointless guide, bungie have done nothing to ban the people who pay for it, nor have they banned recoveries. Oh I’m going into a game “looked these up they are all negative kd” oh Yh they all end with 20 kills and a 4kd 😂 due to recoveries. The game is broken. RIP

2 RepliesI already have given up hope to get not forgotten. Lost 2000 glory in one setting. A good clear sign that I’m not skilled enough to get it. It’s probably better this way. I’m not dragging teammates down now.

5 RepliesEdited by LovedLena: 1/8/2020 10:48:53 PMOr just put on Lord of wolves or erentil easy wins with 0 effort. 100% effective.

Get your friends to play with you and make sure they aren’t crouch coward snipers who contribute nothing to the match. If my friends had the time I’d easily get to legend but I’m stuck with paste eating idiots to never get past mythic 1.

1 ReplyEdited by SweatierThanYou: 1/8/2020 5:51:21 PMWhere is the post on radar? Radar determines which guns you should switch too, whether you should push if you know you have gun advantage for that range, when to slide, and when to peek. The most helpful tip for every player is to understand radar ranges. Outside reticle pings means expect a handcannon fight or an occasional sniper peek. Inner reticle pings means expect an aggressive shotty slide, a very fast HC fight or even a melee charge. You might even see a sweaty run an SMG. Closest reticle pings almost never happen unless the map allows for it; to clarify, most of the time you won't see closest reticle ping because you're looking ADS or already fighting. This doesn't even begin to cover the information radar provides you given the map layout. I haven't even covered grenade/ability usage, net graph, and other high level concepts (or any high level concepts).
