Hey Cozmo and dmg04, I was replying to another post when I started thinking...
I don't know how much time you guys actually spend delving into real world quality of life issues, but maybe it's an topic that could be better addressed using the community itself. What if Bungie employed a group of real world players, not streamers, to give them insight into the average player.
Have a group of anonymous players, not streamers or other big names, just regular guys and gals who play on the regular. They talk to their clans and other friends they have online and provide feedback from the "rest of us".
Yes, streamers play a lot, but they do it for views and income, not necessarily for honest feedback for Destiny 2. That's not to say they don't provide good feedback or that they don't care about the community as a whole. But, I feel that there are enough of us out here that can provide input through a channel that doesn't have all the noise and interference that an online forum does. Real conversations could be had; it wouldn't just be Bungie sifting through thousands of posts, a lot of which can be childish and hateful. It could be the start of a real dialogue with the players.
Bungie could even change up who they get feedback from every three to six months. That would encourage fresh voices to be heard, and ensure there is no "good old boys club" mentality to be formed.
When I said employ I wasn't really thinking about compensation, but perhaps it could be in the form of in game currency (silver?) or something else that wouldn't suggest those players involved were just doing it for the money. Something that has real value, but only to true Destiny players, for whatever that's worth.
Thoughts?
edit: Not big on bragging about getting a trending post, but let's see if Bungie will listen or come up with a similar concept!
edit 2: I wonder how many of these kind of posts Bungie actually reads.

Necro-post in hopes that Bungie might read this.

1 ReplyGood idea

1 ReplyAgreed. All walks of players should have a voice and not just the inner circle.

1 ReplyEdited by Zerdansk: 1/7/2020 10:45:33 AMThey should just have a monthly forum event where they simply run through a handful of chosen activities in the game ranging from old content to new and have two employees and a community representative or several that can openly discuss the state of the game and the vision for the future. Activities to be played are chosen by the community rep so as to show any concerns in that activity. For example dragging the devs through the comp playlist for them to see first hand the issues there or the matchmaking in events like Iron Banner. Running through activities with the most game breaking builds clearly not tested by them would also be a good feedback method. Rewards for contributing participants could range from exclusive emblems or a silver bundle.

5 RepliesYes. Us 40+ hours a week workers with kids and other hobbies and like to sleep at night should also have a tad of influence on the game. PS. I absolutely loved the route they went in D1. Was able to earn good loot even with a busy schedule.

1 ReplyIt’s a good idea Bungie won’t like that! (How will they monetise it?)
-
1 Replythey also need to reintroduce their player surveys. Shame they stopped that
-
1 ReplyYeah, I have been saying this for years. It's not happening and it's unfortunate. A real shame.
-
3 RepliesInterested, but... How does Bungie select these anonymous players? Randomize it and you'll get players who never log on. Get too selective and it's a popularity contest.

5 RepliesI can't remember who it was off the top of my head, but someone here on the forums had replied to one of my comments recently with the wonderful idea of expanding the "crucible labs" mode to include more of a sandbox testing mode. I feel like it could be expanded on even further to include pve aspects of the game, and perhaps incorporate this idea of talking with a group of us "regular Joes." Imagine "Destiny Labs," a mode where bungie can introduce various new gameplay ideas and get feedback from the community before introducing these changes to the rest of the game.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Just need to be careful with who you ask
-
I agree, there should definitely be more feedback sources that have a direct line to the developers based on community thoughts.

1 ReplyThat’s a great idea. I’d like to see that happen. The game would hopefully improve going forward. Wouldn’t that be a good thing. Hell yeah.
-
1 ReplyHave a bump
-
2 RepliesThis is possibly the most inteligent thing i have seen in a long time, Exactly what i would like to see. Dont get me wrong i have no issue with streamers but I think Bungie would do better to listen to the average player more than those who play the game to make money. Great post.

1 ReplyI think you are on to something here. Bump for you good sir!
-
Agreed. There definitely needs to be some fresh voices on the issues. Good post OP.

7 RepliesEmploy this guardian for actually thinking. Shit a full team of you an we might get somewhere. Great idea btw
-
Or they do polls on what players would like to see or allow people creative freedom to suggest things. They clearly have the time

3 RepliesI do indeed like it
