It is very annoying when I’m in the middle of crucible or gambit and the huge rank up notification takes up the entire screen for a unnecessarily long amount of time. If the notification could be made smaller and moved to the corner of the screen the sound cue is enough for me to know I ranked up. Not a big issue just annoying.
Edit: If you open completed bounties in the middle of a match, they give you valor/infamy and sometimes this is enough to rank up in the middle of a match, this is mostly a problem in crucible since gambit ranks are more spread out. I understand that not opening them can “fix” the problem, but they are still annoying when I am trying to look in my inventory and I rank up and can’t see anything or do anything for around 7 seconds. Also, at least I rank up before the leaderboard comes up and everyone is still moving, and its annoying when I’m in the middle of a gun fight at the end of a match and then I can’t see anything and lose. Like I said up top, not a big issue just something that could be made less annoying.

I think all they need to do is make the banner smaller and have it appear along the bottom of the screen like where the contacting server message comes up.

Member when we only had a bounty board and no level up banners except for light level?
Pepperidge Farm remembers!
1 ReplyThat’s why I’m not resetting my valor. Way too annoying.
-
1 ReplyPeople have been complaining about this since week 1 of launch. It's awful and bungie is not listening.
-
But you was ranked up? What could be more important than this???
-
4 RepliesI actually like it, feels like a pat on the back and Bungie saying gg champ you earned that 👍🏻
-
At the very least it shouldn't be overlapping the Director or Inventory. There's no reason for it to be covering your screen while you're looking at your items or quests. The audio cue already alerts me of a rankup and I can open up the Gambit/Crucible screens if I want to see the rank itself.
-
The best is when you get the Valor rank up 19 minutes after your last crucible match
-
Its bothered me for the longest. It needs a redesign. Good call guardian
-
They don't care. Bungie are the only people that ever thought it was a good idea. People complain and they've never changed it.
-
Yes! Please make rank up notification smaller and drop it down out of my way shooting people or dismantling garbage after matches!
-
Everyone knows the banners are annoying. Numerous complaints have been made and ignored by Bungie. It should be at the bottom of the screen like all the other banners, and they should all be smaller.
-
Completely agree. Cant bump this enough
-
Yep I hate this stupid god damn thing in the way. Make it appear small at the top or something, but not the middle of the screen. BUNGIE FIX IT NOW
-
Agreed. So annoying. We’ve been asking for a fix to this forever ☹️
-
I thought I was being petty with that annoying notification. Then I see over 100 upvotes. Kudos. That stupid banner is *so* annoying. Just make it so I can click off it.
-
So annoying

3 RepliesLove how there are people so determined to pick an argument they’re defending the annoyingly long giant notification you ranked up Never change tools never change😂
-
Frick, I get that it goes away and doesn't really hurt anything, but yes, it's annoying af when I'm trying to look at the gear I earned afterwards, or when I try to do anything really!
-
It's almost to the point where ranking up in crucible is more aggravating than actually playing crucible. Get that garbage off the screen so I can see my menu and dismantle the garbage!
-
19 Repliesso to sum up your post, you turned in a bounty mid match to cause the rank up and are mad at Bungie for your actions, seems on par with these forums.
-
1 ReplyHave literally never had this happen. Ranked up Valor 15 times last season.
-
What is worse, is when the HEAVY icon is right in front of you, and it completely hides the enemy. Bungie really needs to stop being greedy, and go back to D1 mechanics. Even the radar in PVP for D1 worked correctly. I have 3 enemies standing in front of me in PVP, and they don't even show on the map. Good Job Bungie...…….…...Good Job

I don't have a problem with it,It doesn't bother me.

1 ReplyI would think you going into your menu mid-game (which for me, takes about 97 minutes to load) would cause more issues than a banner popping up for 5 seconds?
