Jump puzzles or platforms suck.
This isn't Mario brothers.
You want kid games go get a Nintendo

There's a place for jump puzzles, but these developers have ignored it. Jumping along with the PvP basic mechanic are a core of this game. Traditionally the three are kept separate: PvP, PvE, and bonus Puzzles - so everyone can find their place in a game and have the choice. It prolly won't be an issue as they rework their core mechanics and game QoL issues. But right now, yeah. like nails on a chalkboard at times.

I love jumping puzzles, nothing better than seeing everyone fail because they got too impatient 😂

1 ReplyEdited by W33DEDPLAGUE: 12/26/2019 9:29:38 PMCan't do jumping puzzles so it's for kids? Hahaha And yes...some of us do enjoy those challenges along with the rest we get in the game, including me. The problem stems from people who think they should instantly be able to cruise through content on their first try. Some things take learning and practice...AND THATS OK.

Edited by distractedFreek: 12/27/2019 3:58:10 PMIt's fine when the physics work for you, not when surfaces are covered in Bungie Butter and you go flying because you slightly bumped into a wall when landing.

8 RepliesJumping puzzles are honestly quite fun if they're like the ones in zero hour or whisper. And don't be so self assured that your opinion is the status quo that anyone who has a different opinion than you is just contrarian. It makes you seem real pretentious.
-
Not really. I didn't like the one from VoG, the one in KF wasn't too bad, and the one for Whisper was ok once I got it down. I never did the one from Outbreak Perfected (looked too complicated). But Bungie seems to have an obsession with them for some reason.

Yes, yes I do It’s one of the few things left in destiny 2 thats actually fun

I love jumping puzzles, in D1 I used to love completing them using just blink. Me and my friends always have a laugh doing them and learning them.

I like them because theyve helped me improve my movement. Granted they can get tedious if you do them alot. So really im pretty indifferent 🙂

I don't mind them. - A warlock main

Honestly, in this game, flat out no.... Growing up with Super Mario, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Metroid, etc with tight controls and great platforming even with each of their own flaws, rhose still felt great and precise in their own right. Destiny's platforming is among the absolute worst trash I've ever experienced platforming in and Bungie's obsession with it is nothing short of laughable. Whisper quest was a novel idea that I can get by just fine, but then came dreaming city stuff and outbreak perfected stuff that plugs in one too many minuscule planks of a "platform" to get through with pusher adds/ hazards despite how bouncy and imprecise collision detection is in this game. Seriously, I've literally made "stop" jumps to kill momentum only to get pushed away at mach 7 speed upon landing on these planks of a platform one too many times that the experience feels tedious at best, pathetically outrageous at worst.
-
Yeah. They're pretty fun. I like to look at the scenery while parkouring around
-
Yup. And anyone complaining about them, or timers, is just a scrub.
-
Are they really jump puzzles? Outbreak prime in my opinion is the only real jump puzzle in destinys history
-
Not the ones in Whisper. Damn snipers or pushers get me every time.
But at least I succeeded once!
-
Yeah I think they're great. I also believe whisper is a great mission to teach new guardians the basics of destiny.
-
yeah, when they're done well. zero hour, for example. most of that is real fun
-
Unironically yes. They're fun.
