This game has been out for some time there is no reason we should have to deal with cheaters. Come on Bungie surely U have had time to address this? If they were cheating in the raid instead of pvp it would be adressed straight away so why not pvp?

1 ReplyI'm actually heartened at the number of forum posts calling out cheaters and demanding dedicated servers. It wasn't that long ago that people outright refused to believe that cheating was incredibly prevalent in all aspects of PvP (including Gambit), and I had to explain at length why they were wrong with three pages worth of article quotes and links from actual network security experts specializing in DDoS protection.

I play to much. Still cant say I've ever come across a cheater on xbox. I'd imagine ps4 is the same.

1 ReplyEdited by SquidGuy: 12/24/2019 11:31:10 AMMaybe I'm just missing it, but I rarely run into cheaters. What kind of cheating are you seeing? Some people just have amazing aim. I've had a much better time on PC. Less lag and better competition. People often blame cheating when it's their own lack of skill that costs them a match.
-
Trials shouldn't be available to New Light players. This would likely stop a good bit of cheaters since they would have to actually buy the game if they get banned.
-
1 ReplyIf people figured out a way to get free silver they would immediately yank the power cords from the servers and call in all 700 employees for an emergency hotfix. Lol...

Edited by Fishyb: 12/24/2019 4:52:55 PMAnd this is why Trials should NEVER come back. Itle be filled with lag switchers and cheaters on the first 5 mins of release.

4 RepliesBanning cheaters is not always an ideal solution. These days its not much difficult to spoof any hardware id that can uniquely identify the cheater's system. If they know that they are caught they would switch those hardware ids and create alt accounts and probably modify their technique as well. A more effective solution is to quarantine the cheaters and have matchmaking pair between their peers. This way cheaters wouldn't know that they are getting flagged or quarantined and would get a flavor of their own tactics when faced against their peers. They can only hope that their aimbots are superior than other's.

This game is at it's height of anti-cheating already. Just think, they'll be bringing back Trials next season (if that Saint setup in the hangar isn't a giveaway I don't know what is) and it'll be super awesome! I can't wait for half the forums to be the meltdown over cheaters, PC isn't going to be the most popular platform much longer. At least not for people who play the game legit.
-
It would be great if Bungie made all of the cheaters play each other on a separate server away from everyone else. The only game mode they get, rumble.
-
4 RepliesHell at this point pvp is probably more cheaters than fair players
-
It’s pretty much impossible to stop it now that it’s free to play, They get banned and they’ll just start a new account. This is an issue for every free to play game and very few of them get ahold of it, Best they can do is start putting out hardware bans but even that was bypasses

4 RepliesImagine spending 1k on a pc and not being able to play it. 😂👌
-
1 ReplyWell its silly on pc on console we are fine
-
Cheaters, especially those that do account recoveries, kill lobbies and the like represent so much actual playtime that Bungie can only support them. The victims continue to play too, so why not? Bungie has no obligation to ensure a fair arena, if anything only Sony cares about players who manipulate networks or their platform. For PC, cheating is probably the primary reason why these players buy PCs to begin with.
-
C'mon Bungie at least use VAC from Valve on the Steam client version ....
-
8 RepliesTry Stadia when it becomes free. One has to hack a Google dataserver for memory cheats or network manipulation. I will definitely give it a try myself, but I am not sure if there will be enough people to play with. (Yes, I copied this from another thread. I am not a salesman, I am recruiting future playmates.)

Cheaters never win, Winners never cheat.

1 ReplyEdited by Demon_XXVII: 12/24/2019 2:25:23 AMHumiliating cheats would be better than banning them Tracing their IP/MAC codes & bricking their consoles/banning IP at ISP provider would be better Imagine when they either have to fork out £200+ for a new console/PSN/Live account And have to ring their ISP (no doubt in middle of lengthy contract) and explain to the provider/Bungie, that they’re douchey little cvnts whom cheat in games to empower themselves, boost their sad little epeens, & can they please have the ban lifted/ new game purchase (full DLC costs) ...ban temp lifted at a cost of £500! Maybe it’s time for some embarrassing video apologies on Bungie Twitter 😆
-
well there is an easy way to get ridd of cheaters.. dont report them in game.. just go and report them in steam ..this is way more effektive as if u report them in game.i already got 15 players banned , via steam ..there whole accounts are gone...
-
You think lag and load times are bad now lmao. Anti cheat will cripple Destiny lmao. Game is fd over accept it.
-
I just report them and move on. It helps Bungie find them.
-
8 RepliesPC Master Cheats... had to say it again lol
-
FTP. You all deserve it if you continue to play this game.
-
You said it, they've had time and don't really do much. They can't, not without better servers.
-
It's steam, and the fact that the game is now free to play, it won't go away. I just hope for you pc people they put trials behind the season pass.

1 ReplyEdited by Krantzstone: 12/23/2019 4:56:41 AMWhat Destiny franchise needs is dedicated servers: the lagswitching, drophacking, and DDoSing in this game is ridiculous.
