Bungie - Controller button pushes not responding - Ongoing issue and now 10 times worse.

Setup: PS 4 Pro (PS4Pro Controller) + Xbox One X (Xbox Elite v1 & Std Controllers)+ PC/2070GTX-AstroC40 Controller. All systems use a 1 TB SSD drives. No trigger stops on std controllers and no trigger controls/stops in use on the Elite or Astro controllers. 300Down/20Up connection - Cat 6 cables direct to modem This is an ongoing issue that has gotten worse. Only in the lastest did I put the pieces I've noticed together. 1) Latest is new exotic scout stops firing sporadically and requires you to pull the trigger again to restart firing with bullets still in mag. 2) Noticed Auto rifles also stop firing. 3) Now guns will not ADS sporadically. Have to keep pulling triggers Previously I had noticed the above (# 3) but very infrequently. Remembered other issues I've had for a long time and how my friends/family had been commenting on the same things over the last year or more on their home systems. 4) Activating a quest or item where you have to approach and push a button to start/open the item....Sometimes it would not activate. 5) Noticed when deleting items from inventory (shaders/items/etc.), that sometimes the button must be pressed several times before the progress bar registers you've pushed and held. This isn't a push and release either, its a push hold and it simply doesn't show up. 6) Realized that when jumping, there have been times when the jump does not register and I fall to my death, even when I have a glide ability or double or even triple jump. 7) Reload does not register when activated and I have to press it 1 or 2 times to reload. Other times its so touchy (maybe I'm so heavy handed now due to the issues) it reloads while trying to open items. 8) Changing weapons....sometimes it doesn't trigger and you you panic and quickly press again, only to have it rotate through weapons. Not sure if the button/response issue is a related to other issues - like punching a vex in gambit, a fountain of motes appearing and you get none, even if you run in a circle over them but the next guy that runs up 10 seconds later cleans house as soon as he gets near you. This could be lag related, but if you were able to kill the guy, there should be a mechanism to flag mote priority to you despite lag. Does anyone else experience this? (This is somewhat of a rhetorical questions as Reddit is full of stuff like this but I don't have an account there and I've never seen Bungie even bother to acknowledge it.) Maybe Cosmo or somebody a Bungie can actually acknowledge this? PS: Things I've tried... No, it is not a console/cache/reboot/close app/etc. issue. Been there, tried that. It's also not a "bad" controller issue, I have tried even more controllers than I have noted and it was first noticed on my original PS4 & One S units as well. No it is not my internet, as family/friends do not live with me and I also take my console(s) out to others to play at times or when on vacation. Bungie...assistance please.

  • Much of what you are describing is caused by stick drift on controllers. It can be physical to the controller or driver related. If it was game related it would be happening to everyone, and that is not the case. There are lots of controllers that can have an almost undetectable movement (even new). Static can even be responsible in the controller. On a wireless controller, it could be related to the wireless signal between it and the console being interrupted by something in the home occasionally. This has happened in early XB generations until they updated the drivers and the firmware on the controller(s). Do you update the firmware on your controllers regularly? It could be internet related, as the game must maintain a persistent stable connection to everyone for most events to keep registering. If you have even a minuscule hiccup it will cause a stop action if it is waiting for data to return back before proceeding. I notice it occasionally on XB1, but either I notice there's a blip on the connection at the time, the connection between the controller and console disconnected, or I can clear the cause of the drift by rotating the thumb sticks around for a moment and then go back to what I was doing. There has been the occasional programming issue with certain button presses in the past, but then everyone sees it and it's usually on a specific item. That would be acknowledged by Bungie and patched at some point - but there have been no similar notes about that lately. It's not what you want to hear, but that's basically what causes those issues... and since "your connection" is everything between your console and the game service, plus everything between your console and the other players' consoles, then network hiccups are a very real possibility, especially if you are moving it around from environment to environment. The fact you have been trying other controllers would point me in the direction of network hiccups or blips in the connection of the wireless controller to the console/unit. Have you tried with a wired controller that has been updated with the latest firmware? Do you have the same issue?

I have noticed this and I am on Xbox with and Elite controller. I especially have seen it when doing the Altar. I have a really hard time picking up the sword. I press "X" and the circle will halfway fill then stop. I might have to do this 3-4 times sometimes. Reloading has also been an issue sometimes.
