It’s basically like the old Quickplay matchmaking. If you win a couple rounds, the next round they will match you against the sweatiest of teams. You have to lose a match or two to get back on a short win cycle and repeat. It’s not really SBMM. It’s basically a charade with some cherries on top making it appear as if it’s really SBMM. It’s rigged.
The matchmaking adjusts by the minute, so if you stomp a team the game will be like "THESE GUYS ARE NUTS" and matches you with a good squad. Thats why you can just play trash enough not to lose and get 5500 with utmost easy.
It's worked for me so far. I've been playing in a 3 man communicating fireteam though.
You also have to remember, these YouTubers are in the top 5% of players skill wise, and most of their videos are just self aggrandizing for the sake of talking. Survival is completely different for them than it is for us.
Sounds like it's working as intended to me.
Luke Smith himself said that he wants Crucible to be more "Stomp or be stomped"
close matches driven by roughly equally skilled players on all sides, what are those?
Geez it's not nobody reads the Twab or the updates.
The matchmaking is based on your performance in your games.
It you've been winning a bunch of matches or getting all the kills you get higher "skilled" opponents
Best bet? be average.
