Randy's Throwing Knife Quest Medals + Kills Section is Bugged
Currently right now the only way to get progress on this section is multikill medals with weapons and they have to be your own kills. All other medals and kills do not help with the progression of this section of the Randy's Throwning Knife Quest. Please fix

Been having trouble with this one too. CAN confirm what works, for me anyway: - double kills with SMG - shutting someone in their super down with your own super Went up 4% in one game just messing about figuring this out. Thank god

Well, in two days I finished the Scout Final Blows. However, cold fusion medals are broken for me as well. Guess I’m not getting this gun simply because the Mission is broke. 4 days left too. Smh

I am having a similar issue with this final quest preventing my undying title being earned; I have reset my valor 5 times this season trying to earn medals, in control, IB, momentum, nothing works. When I get consecutive kills with fusions I do not get the medals, and when I get 20-30 kills a match with other weapons nothing changes... This has been incredibly frustrating, and unfortunately my first full season of crucible play, likely also my last if this is the standard... Bungie; if you’re listening, please fix this or extend the season title, many of us have burned weeks of our lives on this only to be punished by a glitch...

Fornicate you Bungie. I got a 7 kill Streak with Cold Heart, including a double and a triple kill and Never Moved the Medals Needle! And where are Deej and Cozmo on this? Community Managers simply could care less about our user experience or issues we are having. They don't even EXPLAIN how this nonsense (is supposed to) work. Guess like the Devs, the CM's are too busy lounging around in their PJs and fuzzy Slippers.

1 ReplyI’m on the part you get kills. I’m only at 35% atm and it’s not going up more when I get kills with my oxygen in the crucible. I’m doing my kills in momentum control which helps a lot. The other thing also is that the bounty for my Randy’s Throwing knife is that it’s untracking itself when I get back on to check it I have to retract it every time I get on destiny2

It's STILL broken, I got 2 kills with Jotunn at least FIVE times in my last play session and none of them registered as Cold Fusion medals. I got 3 kills in one life and brick of power ammo using Fixed Odds and NO medal for that either, I'm so -blam!-ing annoyed. This quest has been broken all -blam!-ing season and it's STILL not patched.

The enemies defeated and medals portion of this quest has been flat out blatantly broken for me since day one of release. As soon as Shadowkeep dropped and I saw Randy’s I immediately began working towards it. I can now say Iv played more pvp this season than any other and I still haven’t gotten Randy’s. I have friends who are terrible in pvp and haven’t put half the time in I have that have already gotten it somehow. For more specific proof Tuesday at reset during banner I played a game where I was awarded 7 double kills upon many others medals with a 26 kill game. Received no percentage increase and remained at 81%. The following game we were thrown in a match that already started with people who I can only assume left the game from getting stomped so we weren’t even in the match for 2 minutes before it was mercy ruled(thanks for the great matchmaking btw bungie). I got no double kills medals or any others for that matter and left with 5 kills altogether. I was awarded 3% points towards it bringing me to 84%...... The most iv ever been awarded at one time. Many other examples upon request. Iv not had more trouble in any other season over this one with raids barely working to matchmaking being terrible on pvp and as I said randys quest being obviously bugged. I made sure to save video clips for you bungie to show you how busted this part of the quest is. Please fix the garbage.

Half the time Cold Fusion doesn't pop up even after two kills, and that's really the only efficient medal you can earn. All others are worthless for points. That means you're stuck grinding a bugged-out medal with fusion rifles in pvp, which for me is not fun at all. On top of that there's NO WAY to track which medals you earned after a match, the actual progression of your points (not just the percentage), or how much each medal is worth to show you more clearly how this quest step works. There's so much misinformation on this quest and the ingame description is confusing and vague. I mean who designed this? Also seems like weapon medals are disabled in Iron Banner this week?? Just overall completely broken. Recluse and even whisper of the worm was far easier than this ffs, which is insane. I just don't understand how they made this such an unbearable slog and haven't addressed it in any way. It's simply not fun and probably not even worth it. Edit: Grinded 9% more of medals today, but realized after my last match where I got 3 Cold Fusion medals to pop it counted for 0% progress...so sometimes it just straight up doesn't count medals even when you do manage to get them. I mean seriously! What the actual -blam!- Bungie!!!

been going on a week... got two steps done... doing the medals + kills portion... I see some people have got it done... which is probably telling me that the developers aren't really going to do too much about it... but man I been at it a week trying to get randy's throwing knife... cmon bungie like many other things that's bugged you gots to maintain your product... every week now it says do "bounties" for the weekly vanguard strike... when it's bugged and you have to match the elemental singe for the week... you have a great product but the bugs like this shouldn't be happening over and over again. I get that you want people to feel accomplished for earning the pvp weapons but seriously a casual player who managed to earn "the recluse" have about given up after each match of whatever pvp match it only goes up 1% after 70% I find it to be really draining

Iron Banner gives out a lot of medals and wouldn't be much of a grind. However, if there is to be a fix then the some medals in Iron Banner should contribute since it is a PvP mode. Right now there has been video on having a fusion rifle being the way to progress. I killed two players in Iron Banner and thus 3% was given. Just 3% isn't enough since 14,000 medals is more than a grind. I believe the medals should be reduced or more medals to count. I will believe this fix when my eyes see any fixes to Destiny 2.

There's definitely something weird going on with it. Just messing around in Crucible doing my weekly matches then stopping for the couple weeks before IB started I got to 20%. Between IB week and this week so far I've played enough matches to reset my rank twice and I've gotten 3% in that time.

I’m dealing with the same issues only kills are counting. I got 2100, also 450 scout final blows but medals are not working. I just played a just make sure and yes only kills is counting I got double and triple kills in game but medals did not count.

It’s very disappointing to see that they haven’t addressed this other than by suggesting to swap characters, complete a match, swap back and reset the PS4’s cache (which hasn’t worked for me). Thankfully Forbes wrote an article so hopefully it gets some attention: https://bit.ly/2o7x9jv I’ve seen others say that the Cold Fusion medal brings it up quickest, which I can confirm works, however similar to the author of the article, this medal is bugged for me and doesn’t always pop up. Although I haven’t tried Rumble as he suggested. Hopefully this can be fixed before the end of the season or else the Undying title is out of reach for me, which is quite frustrating.

Edited by Scotsman: 10/22/2019 4:02:18 AMsame here i made good progress from 17% to 65%. now it has completely stalled even getting 20+ defeats and swathes of medals. quest just -blam!-ed out and it is really -blam!-ing annoying considering the geniuses at bungalo thought a ritual weapon is supposed to be less of a grind so we'll make it only 14000 medals/defeats and then not track them properly.
