People should be limited to 5 downvotes per day per year.
That way if you get downvoted you KNOW that person is either mad af or they hate you. Either way it’s a good LoL!
Ok if this doesn’t work you should get 3/5th the upvote power you normally get if you down post a post for your next upvote.

Upvotes don't really mean much on the website other than stroking a person's ego. From what I've experienced on this, I usually either make a really good shitpost or make an excellent shitpost to get these. Downvotes don't mean much either. From what I've experienced on this, I get these by making a "controversial" political opinion that hurts the feelings of some people on this forum that don't agree with it. Upvotes and downvotes don't change my posting style.

2 RepliesI'm curious to know why downvoting doesn't go below 0. Doesn't really tell you much except that it's, at minimum, one downvote more than an upvote. Context matters of course, but anyone can just downvote a comment for no reason and all of a sudden it's potentially stigmatized.
