You can't mix handcannon perks and shotgun perks
You can't have Sniper loader with momentum transfer
You can't have Better Already with Bomber
The elemental handicaps on legendary gear makes no sense from a "build a better killing machine" perspective. The elemental armor affinity for Armor 2.0 needs to go, or at the very least needs an overhaul.
Edit 1: I saw a user in another thread (whom I will not name unless they wish to be named) that said an easy fix for this is to allow the current system to continue up until an armor piece is fully masterworked, at which point the item can take mods from other affinities. They also recommended that mods which match an armor affinity cost one less to place. Potential fix, maybe?
Edit 2: I'm seeing some confusion in the replies, so I'd like to clarify that this is *NOT* a conversation regarding the seasonal artifact. If you wish you discuss that topic, I encourage you to create your own thread and I will gladly upvote your post if I find your argument compelling
Edit 3: I'm going to just throw this out there and say that Armor 2.0 should allow ALL earned ornaments to be applied, regardless of what armor is currently equipped. Additionally, armor that will not be returning for some time (Looking at the problem children here, Trials and Factions) should absolutely be turned into ornaments for those that have earned them. It is a crime to have people earn things they can no longer logically use

Yeah it's called "Not being overpowered" I'm using middle Stormcaller right now with Geomag, Huckleberry, Loaded Question, and a Grenade Launcher, with an Ashes to Ashes mod. This build is BROKEN. It's so strong. And guess what...I don't even have Fusion rifle mods yet. Wanna know what I can stack with Ashes to Ashes? Light Reactor. I can just take Loaded Question, and Arc grenades, and constantly swap between them, and gain Super for EVERY. SINGLE. KILL. And I ALSO GET FUSION AMMO FINDER. This is why you can't have any perk combination you want, because the possibilities would be absolutely busted. You need to move out your comfort zone, look at the subclass you're using, and build from there. If you're using Warlock, Ashes to Ashes is unquestionably the best skill to take for subtrees like Devour. But other options are going to be better. You need to just actually think and put something together, trust me. Once you start realising what you can combine, it'll be ridiculous. Bear in mind, the build I said I use, I'm using Huckleberry. I could just use Bad Juju if I wanted. I'd get Super so fast, that it would probably be a third of my damage in content.

4 RepliesIt's fine, builds were just OP previously. Real men adapt and develop optimal strategies 👍
-
4 RepliesIt’s called limitations, and they are healthy for the game. The only thing I’d like to see changed is the ability to reroll the affinity on any gear.
-
Except you can't have the best -blam!-ing guns in the game unless you want to play hours of unbearable pvp grind.
-
Don't worry, they'll fix it next DLC for only 34.99$.

1 ReplyDestiny, where you play the way Bungie wants or not at all Gotta love it

3 RepliesEdited by Darth Lunchbox: 10/15/2019 8:53:07 PMIt will always be Bungies way or the highway. No matter what they say.

Been gaming for a very long time I was a day 1 d1 player with over 3000 hours so I can rightfully say destiny is the most controlled game I've ever played its either play bungies way or not at all. I chose the latter I'm done paying and playing

72 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 10/16/2019 12:30:06 AMPlay how you want, but pay no attention to how we added more limits to the game. Nerf the game before the expansion Limit builds No solar perks Reskin most things Barely add new loot to chase and make sure Tess inventory is full. Triple the grind Hmm, sounds like fun... Edit: So how is that materworking sets of gear working out for you guys?

1 ReplyAlso artifact mods can't be put on exotics or special/ heavy weapons, let alone available for all primaries.

4 RepliesEdited by Gambit: 10/16/2019 12:27:13 PMPlay how you want; as long it’s the way we or Datto want you to play.

2 RepliesEdited by SufrinTourettes: 10/17/2019 1:47:54 PMI have yet to use 2.0 armor. It took a long time to get my perk set the way I want it and I aint doing that F-ing grind again. Just saying.

1 ReplyI think Bungie has overly complicated the armor modding system, I'm still trying to figure out the affinity elements worth. I'm just working for stat totals for as high as I can, equipment it, wait for the mods I want. Then ornament the set. Well.... Ornament the set first, I don't want to look like a total mess. ;)

Or understand what "play the way you want" means. I prefer being in side split between chairs when I play because thats the way I want. Assumption is a mother of all -blam!--ups

3 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 10/16/2019 9:36:28 PMExcept... Use this mod only for this. Use that mod only for that. You can only do this for that subclass. You can only do that for that subclass. Use this weapon for this. Use that weapon for that. Use this element for this. Use that element for that. Use this ability for this. Use that ability for that. Get these kills here for this. Get those kills there for that. Play only this for that. Play only that for this. By the way, everyone else will be doing all those things while being on your team, sometimes while in a competition. So plan on everyone not using what they’re best with like half the time you play this game. Also, play everything in the game many times despite that the game has vastly different game modes so as to say that it essentially encompasses entirely different genres. Amazing universe and story. Amazing gameplay mechanics as far as combat goes. However,l it’s a near suffocatingly rigid and impractical model though. So much so that it’s a detriment to the overall experience.

The new armor system has nothing to do with freedom It just forces you to grind more.. Infinite grind destroys games.. I hope people realize rthis.. Titanforging was so fkn hated in WOW... And Destiny 2 copies it.. Farming 6hours for a 0.01% upgrade

1 ReplyYou've just figured this out? This was pretty obvious when Bungie quests be like: "melee kill one hundred and thirty yellow bar servitors on mercury, and use only sidearms to kill fifteen nightfall bosses, with one hand tied behind your back, on a twelve inch screen, with a broken controller, and all your armor coloured pink."

4 RepliesThey lied with both statements..... play how you want to play....... look how you want to look...... Both statements deliberately misleading, in an effort to sell a product that does not fulfill these selling points. Sure, it's deliberately ambiguous so as to enable the maximum amount of wiggle room (notice a pattern here? Hint: the story, or lack thereof), and yet very deliberate promises were dangled in front of the player base, yet are still not actually in the game. I still help out with the admin for my clan (hence my continued presence on this forum), but until the content actually matches the price, both me and my wife won't be giving Bungie another penny

This is why I'm keeping alot of my 1.0 armor. It has the stuff I want. Armor 2.0 has the potential to be interesting, but I'm not loving it so far.
-
Armour 2.0 is more restricting than the old armour. So much for build what you want. Want to run a shotgun? Congrats you get to use a machine gun. Want a fusion? You get to use linear fusions. So rediculous.

Let us just take a second to have a moment of silence for all things melee in Destiny (No it didn't die, it just never really existed to begin with). now that that's over... Bungie pls add -more melee weapons (that aren't just the same copy past adaptive sword). like hammers, javelins, and oh i don't know... maybe give us the ability to unequipped weapons (i'm literally saying to just recycle as much animation as possible) -more melee perks. one two punch is great but what about boosting anything but melee dmg? how about survivability, mobility, utility, etc... (preferably armor perks so that i can do more than 1 thing at a time) -more melee focused exotics. It would be really great if an exotic can be added that doesn't just boost melee dmg, one way or another. Example (idk this off the top of my head) um... a Titain arm called Crazy Diamond. melee eliminations cause targets to explode in a healing nova (the nova triggers an enhanced health regen), if you or a wounded team mate regen health to full via the nova, they will create a small healing well. Melee isn't a sub category of guns; it is its own category entirely. Bungie doesn't seem to know that though. I encourage some of you to really think about how many different ways we can use objects to hit people. P.S can we pls have non- seasonal artifacts that can be earned in game... you know like as a replacement for pinnacle weapons, so that we have even more of that so called "build crafting"
-
That would be fine with me if only masterworking a piece of gear didn't take 100 some enhancement cores to do so
