I think Petra killed Uldrin, not the guardian
So there isn't "concrete" proof to prove this BUT I do have some thoughts to support my reasoning.
Firstly, there was only 1 shot fired.
The screen cuts to black so it only implied "we" killed Uldrin.
The guardian hesitated when Uldrin asked which side they were on
The Ace of Spaces was to heavily damaged to be fired until repaired.
The sound effect isn't that of the Ace of Spaces. It may at first sound like it, however, after replaying that cut scene a few times I one day realized it WASN"T the Ace's. The sound effect has a sharper, I would describe as a metallic ring to it, whereas the Ace has a sort of Blunt echoed ring to it.
The gun that Patra used is called the Vestian Dynasty, a sidearm we can get in-game.
So I started looking into this idea and found a VERY forgotten video id like to share, you might as wel kip to 5-minute mark

You can literally hear both of our guns shoot at the same time. Our Guardian’s gun and the Vestian Dynasty of Petra. Two distinct gunshots but at the exact same time so as to confuse and confound those who can’t hear both. Some think it’s one shot, including you. Some think it’s Petra’s gun, some think it was our gun. But it was actually very clearly both. I think you need to play that mission again and really listen..

Petra had Uldren dead to rights with a sniper at the shard, but missed, her "training" made her miss on purpose You can read about it in the "Kings Wrath" lore card We killed Uldren folks!!!

No. You can hear the sounds of vestian dynasty and AoS being fired at the same time. Besides, we raise the gun back up after he asks us the question.

And actually(I did the mission fairly recently) Banshee says “it will shoot” he goes on to say that the Ace is really corroded and needs to be repaired to work completely(note that firefly and the exotic perk did not work at all before our guardian used it)[spoiler]now on the exotic perk part, it is possible that ace had the d1 exotic perk, which is why we don’t see Cayde using it, but firefly is broken either way.[/spoiler] The hesitation was put in Incase the player didn’t want to kill Uldren at all, bungie could simply say “Well you watched Cayde die in your arms just a short time earlier, so you were still really angry.”

1 ReplyShe did. Uldren ran out of ammo shooting the Traveler and he wasn't wearing anything that improved Primary ammo drops.
