Ever since I started playing Destiny 2 on PC after coming out on Steam. I have only been able for 1-2 hours at a time as my game would minimise and would open only if clicked to a black screen and then would minimise again, and I would get a pop-up that reads "Problem reading game content. Please close Destiny 2, right click on Destiny 2 in the Steam app to run 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF FILES...# in 'Properties'. Then restart Destiny 2 to try again."
So I follow the steps, all is well, it takes about 10-15 minutes to do that, I get in, 1-2 hours later the same thing happens again. I then looked up here what to do and on the Bungie Help twitter page, I see the "Delete the file named 'steam_appid' and then verify". I can't find that, I find something called 'steam_api64.dll' instead, I delete that, verify files. Get back on, the same thing happens all the time. I have tried the "Delete everything but the packages folder then verify" I do that, load the game, the same thing happens. I have redownloaded Destiny 2 as well, doesn't help.
This bug kills the game for me, I can hardly play it for long without getting agitated, sometimes it happens as soon as I load in and get to the character selection screen. Sometimes it happens when I am in a strike or nightfall with my friends/fireteam. It just annoys me to the point that after having to do it at least 5 times a day, I've stopped playing it.

Same issue here, crashes every time I alt tab or sometimes just randomly

1 ReplyReset your steam by deleting all of the files in the steam directory except for steamapps and steam.exe

same issue, i reinstalled it on an m.2 and even bought more ram(32gb) thinking ram was the issue but seems like its a bungie issue at this point
-
I am still having this issue. Just shows this error at random moments, not consistent. Tried to reinstall from scratch and then move it to a different disk. It is still happening.
-
I've been having the same issue too

This is starting to get annoying and out of hand. With Iron Banner around, I can hardly play a match without crashing. This not only effects my streak but also my stats and it is just pissing me off at this point. Bungie, fix this please it seems like you're losing a fair few people from your player base.

Edited by ASaltyBiscuit: 10/14/2019 9:54:20 PMSame problem. I have tried everything short of reinstalling windows. I am even getting a Disk Write Error when I verify. I have tested the HDD and it comes back fine. I have done just about every command chkdsk has and still the same issue. Starting to get salty about all this. I can't even use the product I freaking paid for.

Same here. It was frequently, in the last 2 days, DC from the game. Now it shows this message, does not open anymore.

Experiencing the same issue; it's a game breaking bug. Bungie, please address!
