Nerf fusion rifles

At this point in time I believe fusions are simply too strong, often time I find myself engaging in a gunfight at medium-longer ranges more often than not getting killed or trading. Especially in the case of Fusions like erentil and wizened rebuke being able to roll with back up plan, pair this with the ease of use that fusions fundamentally possess and it provides a gun that can kill at most ranges with little to no downside. I think a stability nerf and the removal of backup plan being able to roll on high impact fusions would bring them in line. If anything I think fusions should deserve to be looked at :)

  • I main erentil I got 145,800 kills but why nerf it all the way to the ground its gotta stay useful there are shotguns all over the place something its gotta be able to counter them

    • Backup plan was an exotic perk in D1 found on the Plan-C which was in the precision arc-type and it only fired 1 shot. You miss now you have have to fix your mistake. I have been a fusion main since D1 and using backup plan is broken as hell. There is no baiting out 2 shots you jump and make them miss the 1st at high skill levels they will adjust and take you out with the 2nd shot. Fusion when they need to he charged and cant instant fire are still to consitant. When bungie went from projection based to hitscan in D2 they took the stabilty stat that was tied into boly spread and moved it to the recoil between shots like it is on shotguns and all other weapons. This was a terrible move along with the perks like tap the trigger and firmly planted this gives a gun with 15 stability almost 0 recoil making it an absolute monster. Add in the fact the gun has no damage falloff doing 37 per bolt at any range you can group the bolts almost as tight as a linear shot doing enough to kill anyone in 6 bolts from any range. This along with a less that 300 charge time on 2 shots breaks the game and gives the gun 100% lethalness with 0% drawbacks. All weapons need a place to fill a roll. Shotguns cant kill outside of 9m consistantly. Snipers cant kill close and hipfire is luck. In D1 the 70-80m shots weren't possible because of travel time on the bullets you could move before the bolts arrived now since the gun is hitscan if you ate in the crosshairs at 80m and the shot is coming you die the second the gun fires. If you love or hate these guns can we not agree this breaks the game and makes the gun fill to many rolls. So as a community how about we brainstorm on how to fix the weapon or offer up ideas of good change instead of arguing that a good player can just dodge the shot. 1. Establish a lower damage minimum 37 at any range is absurd at 80 m the gun should be doing about at most 30 in that archetype but more like 15. 2. Remove backup plan or reduce the ammount of time the perk is active you get 1 shot with the perk then the cooldown is 15 seconds. Right now the cooldown is very fast for 2 shots. 3. Also firmly planted needs to be removed off the guns, if possible revert the changes of stabilty back to the bolt spread. Making it a weapon of skill forcing the user to learn how to direct the shot and fight the recoil. 4. Range has 0 affect on the guns right now it was tied into projectile speed of the bolts. If bungie can make a 100% change to swords they can make the guns work the same way they did in D1 and change the guns to projectile instead of hitscan. 5. If all these changes all the guns would need a damage buff high impact 50-52, precision 44-46, adaptive 40, rapid 35-37. This would make the bolts kill in 4, 5, 5, 6. I'm not an expert just have used these weapons alot from D1 to D2 through the good and the bad. Trust me when these guns are terrible everyone just apes with shotguns or moves to passive play with snipers. They need to be toned down but still very effective.

    • Any weapon they requires zero skill deserves a nerf. And Erintil is just at the top of that list. Im sure they will be nerfed eventually, but when? Idk. Until then, players that constantly spam them are simply just making themselves look bad, because they rely so heavily on it. But I guess even bad players need to have done fun.

        Do not Nerf any guns bungie every single gun right now is perfect where its at. If you listen to a naysayer like this it will cause a nasty chain effect like in the beginning of D2 how you took the advice to put guns like shotgun fusions & snipers in the power ammo slot and that completely caused a really nasty chain effect that took nearly a nigh impossibility task to fix and recalibrate everything to perfection like it is now. DO NOT NERF Any Gun. You have to understand that people like this are going to complain until literally they feel good about themselves. I'm not that experienced so all the guns have to be nerfed so I can get kills and feel good about myself that really is what's at hand right now. there are many factors on what gets you killed how you push where you push when you push why you push. There is no universal button that can make you good just by nerfing everything. The only gun that I would argue that still needs a little bit of a nerf is not forgotten, SO LET ME GET STRAIGHT TO THE POINT AND STATE THE PROBLEM ABOUT THE GUN : I did an experiment yesterday again in a private match my goodness it was concluded and determined that the gun is just way too spammy and this is why most players resort to this as a last resort because they know the gun on console it's just still broken so to speak. Remember when it was first released my goodness it puts fusion rifles to shame.

              • Maybe a slight range nerf would do, but not too much. You simply have to learn to adapt. Challengong a fusion in the open field is just a dumb move, peekshot/bait them is what you should do instead of crying nerf.

Please stop listening to us and just make the game YOU wanted to make. Listening to weapon complaints ruined so many good weapons. Fusion rifles are badass space zapper weapons that send enemies into a disintegrating death. Just keep it way.

                        • I’m weighing in and saying balance everything needs balance it’s essential to the longevity of the game and how players respond to it if everyone in the crucible ran fusions well it wouldn’t be fun it would get boring trading kills all the time mainly or just down right unfair advantages over player who chose to use something different I think OP is crying out for fairness most of not all fusions are on hit kill if we use only those why do we need anymore then just fusions? Change my Mind !

                            • Yeah its kinda needed but idk what they can do that'll make it balanced and still useable. Tbh the addition to bigger maps did nerf it quite abit. Ive bee seeing people try and use high impact fusions on widows court and jist throwing there lives away. So.bungie are on the right track tbh
