There’s two exotic weapons in the pass and we can purchase the ranks and we also saw exotic engrams in the lineup from the image.
So it’s official, Destiny has gone pay to win.
Case closed, this game is ruined.

You know he wishes he could delete this.

It’s 3018 and people still don’t know what pay to win means 🙄🤦🏻♀️

>Bungie releases exotics as a part of a DLC: Not P2W >Bungie releases exotics as a part of a pass tied to a DLC for the same price: P2W What.
-
7 RepliesDon’t leave out the part where the “P2W” part only will take effect the last 2 weeks of the season so people have a chance to pick things up at the last minute. If you are going to report something, report it in full.
-
1 ReplyWait, when u preorded in the past didnt u get exclusive exotics? Or did i miss something?
-
You forgot to mention it’s still free and you can still obtain everything via the free way
-
Not talking about it because it isn’t pay to win.
-
Do you know what pay 2 win is? If the exotics do not grant a significant advantage it is not pay 2 win. Also you still get the exotic anyway by PLAYING THE GAME.
-
6 RepliesYou can't read... I know this. The last half of the season, players can pay to get the rank ups. If you buy the season pass, your first rank is the exotic. How is this any different than buying the game and getting an exotic quest? in this case, who gives a sh1t?! Just fng play the game and shut up already man. Christ almighty

because you can still obtain the stuff for free genius. yes this is as close destiny has come to pay to win but just because you can get the two new probably total shit exotic weapons faster than everyone else by paying money does not mean pay to win. Pay to win is call of duty advanced warfare where you could drop hundreds on elite supply drops to get guns like the asm1 speakeasy/strider variant and the bal-27 obsidian steed variant and be at an objective advantage over people that didn’t buy supply drops for them. These variants had an advantage over their standard counterparts and the only way to get them was by buying elite supply drops for $3 a pop unless you got very lucky with the one per day that you could get by just playing. That is pay to win. Destiny is not pay to win.

7 RepliesColdheart was a nice exotic.

Tbh I’m not surprised that they’re doing the battle pass formula. Now that Bungie and Activision have spilt, Bungie needs to keep their game going on their own. The battle pass is probably why they made D2 Y1 free to play. So they can technically add a battle pass to the game. I’m kinda pissed but at the same time I can sorta understands why they’re doing this. We’ll just have to wait and see exactly how seriously this affects the game.
There’s two exotic weapons
IIRC there was one with an exotic quest. Not sure if the quest is tied to that at all.
we can purchase the ranks
I'd agree with your point if there wasn't 1 flaw with it... You can only purchase within the last 2-4 weeks of a given season. There isn't a way to but ranks day 1.
and we also saw exotic engrams in the lineup from the image.
Most likely a placeholder image.
So it’s official, Destiny has gone pay to win. Case closed, this game is ruined.
It isn't pay to win, since any conceivable advantage is now lost because you have 6-8 whole weeks to level up your pass once (assuming you got Shadowkeep) for the guaranteed exotic. This is on top of the fact that most non-cosmetic items from the stream are available from activities, if I remember correctly.
