Destiny 2 Grinding Feels Like A Chore Rather Than Fun.
- honestly this game feels like a chore now , if you don't do the daily gunsmith bounties you'll fall behind and not have enough to reach the highest light. The whole system of messed up it shouldn't take 3 months playing nonstop to reach 750 for 3 characters, its just too much work. I literally fall asleep playing due to how boring the game is now. Thinking about permanently quiting :)

4 RepliesThat's just foolish exaggeration. Nobody will take you seriously when you are dishonest. This season took me three weeks to reach 750 on my main, then swapping 750 weapons to my others got me to 750 in 2 more weeks. If it takes you 3 months then you're only playing a couple of hours a week, and if that's true then why should Bungie care what you think? Plus, how can you complain about the gunsmith bounties? They take 5 minutes to complete in the lost sector on Mars where the thrall keep running at you, and give you mod components as well. I have almost 200 cores and mod components now because I'm conserving them for Shadowkeep, and I was at 0 just a couple of months ago. If you don't want to do the grinding, then you quite literally aren't a looter fan. Everything you have doesn't need to be maxed out. I go into Gambit with a 730 Wardcliff and a 730 Ikelos shotgun because it really doesn't matter. In Shadowkeep I probably won't even infuse until I get close to 900, then not again until I'm maxed and have a set of armor with good stats. It sounds like you just aren't cut out for this kind of game. It takes effort and time to get the good stuff. People don't complain that WoW requires too much time.

Those take like five minutes on each guardian or do them as you do other activities. Those are kind of a bad example as they are the easiest bounties in the game.

Definitely you should quit playing if you are feeling this way now. Shadowkeep is going to be more grindy and further to level . I like leveling. I don’t like having the same avenues to increase power though. That gets stale. The days of doing everything on all three characters are over for me. I finished solstice armor for my hunter last night at 12:30 am. Couldn’t fall asleep and was a total piece of crap at work.

1 ReplySame, game is not fun anymore. I'm usually falling asleep before I'm done gathering bounties and still in the tower. I end up quitting before doing a single activity. No reason to play at this point anyways.

2 Replies3 months my ass, it takes maybe 3 weeks for the 1st character and then you transfer over the new max light guns and it's even faster for the other two. There are TONS of different powerful reward sources in the game rn. It's almost too easy to get to max power. Back in D1 the ONLY way to get to max was to Raid. I miss that tbh

Also, people like you need to stop thinking you need enhancement cores to upgrade your light, just equip the damn gear until you’re 750, stop infusing every 2 light because yeah you will run out of materials and guess what, it’s your fault for being that dumb

I was doing some gunsmith stuff the other night and the controller dropped out of my hands because I slightly nodded off. I think the game has just run its course for me. I definitely had fun along the way and got my money worth even though there is A LOT of things they did I really didn’t like or would have done differently. The direction they’re heading doesn’t excite me, seems like more grind for grind’s sake without enough new exciting stuff to make the grind worthwhile and while still needing to grind lots of old tired content. I’m actually really enjoying Darksiders 3 at the moment, will be getting Borderlands 3 and Greedfall. I’ll wait for reviews on Shadowkeep and try out armor 2.0 for myself, but I’m just not excited for Destiny anymore.

I get it though, you wanted to feel special and your own attention with your version of a 'i'm quitting, this game is boring' post. Guess you succeeded.

2 RepliesSo at first D2 had very little content, after you did the story mode, there was not much else to do. They added two DLCs that ppl just blew through in a number of hours, but there wasnt much point in grinding. Then they added Forsaken which had a lot of extra content, and then the following Expansion Seasons, Black Armory, Drifter, & Oppulance. Free Events, like Summer Solstace, ect. There is so much content now, that D2 feels as if it wants you play it all day long, every day of the week in order to grind out loot. This was what a lot of fans asked for. Though there are also those of us that work or have school and do not have the time to be on 24/7 and miss out on events and such that are very time consuming. It gets to be a chore, which makes you feel burned out on the game.

Huh. Every Tuesday there is a million things to do. Almost overwhelming. I pick and choose what is important to me...and get it done. Never feels like a job.

If you feel like that then take a break my friend, everyone I played Destiny with jumped over to Final Fantasy 14 and damn is it good. Everything you do feels rewarding and the 14+ million player base with fully integrated matchmaking is just epic, hard to believe it came out at same time as Destiny and even had a horrible start like it to lol. But like I said at start, take a break and pop back now and then to see how Destiny is doing. Also make sure to check out the reviews of shadowkeep when they come out so you know if it’s worth getting.

I rarely ever do gunsmith bounties and have 200 enhancement cores....from legit just playing pvp and only infusing when needed

You can skip on infusing you still get higher drops, just keep it in your inventory. Power is 95% pointless in this game yet players hunger for it way to much, because most don't know there is a +50 power cap. I only infused every item twice the power was only needed for new raid and menagerie, it does nothing in most activities.

Cut back to one character, play other games. Maybe future updates will be more engaging for you to level up the left behind characters.
