What confuses me the most about the game are the confusing gun physics for some weapons, especially kinetic weapons and explosive weapons. Energy weapons make a bit more sense, but still - How is it possible to fan with a hand cannon when there are seeming no places for a hammer to hit a primer? How can bullets/grenades/rockets come from small boxy bois? How can Izanagi’s Burden magazines combine bullets? Why do some rifles have to be cocked when reloading while others don’t? How can bullets even be fired without a primer? Also, to prevent any obvious answers, saying something along the lines of ”It’s advanced technology thanks to the knowledge of the Golden Age from the Traveller” does not answer my question. I’m not trying to be aggressive though, it just doesn’t make sense to me.

4 RepliesOk I’m actually the leading gun expert in the DLMG so here’s a summary Guns don’t use “ammo” as you put think of it They fire glimmer (program able matter) so the ammo bricks are just glimmer that has the correct code to be used as ammo and because of that the ghost marks it with a color crate on your hud The hammer on hand cannons is more like a computer mouse clicking fire The gun fires because it’s programmed to fire That’s why we can’t just pick up a shrapnel launcher and call it LoW It has to be made to fire glimmer

You want the God’s honest truth?? It’s a video game. Don’t pay too much attention to it.
-
Why is kirby the most dangerous being in all of existence?
-
If you are talking about fanning last word, may I remind you that last word/ace of spades were modeled off of a real gun. Also izanagi’s burden most likely combines the gunpoweder, not the bullets.(probably just an accident on bungie’s part)
-
Save the realistic stuff for modern warfare
-
Because it’s a video game and the devs are more focused on “This looks kinda neat” over “this looks good and also like it would actually work”

1 ReplyEdited by Kanashimi510: 8/26/2019 9:15:30 PM
... it just doesn’t make sense to me.
Same reason they have a "kill clip" perk on weapons that don't use clips. 🤷♂️ Bungie makes some great gunplay for their games (maybe unparalleled), but I don't think the developers know a ton about actual firearms. We get what we get.

Pointy gunny shooty bullets

You really want the honest truth?

Space magic.

How does ammo spray out of demons when doom guy chainsaws them in half? It's a videogame, that's how
-
If you need me to expound/explain further please just say exactly what you need to know
-
I've always wondered how shoot to loot actually works in the physical world.
-
Phalanx Shields have the Extinguish modifier.
-
I believe they use programmable matter as ammo
-
Man, in this game not even finishing a reloading animation matters.. just don't search for logic in weapons here.. I mean, look at the "fill your mag with more rounds than the wep can support" perk..
-
Look at malfeasance and tell me that is not space magic.
-
The simple explanation is bungie hasn’t got a clue when it comes to firearms because if they did I don’t think that many people would be complaining about it
-
Two explanations: 1. Space magic 2. Game mechanics
-
There's so much absurd shit going on with the guns that i've just stopped asking questions.
-
The important part is if they do their job right. “In case of emergency, point at enemies and pull trigger. Repeat as necessary.” -In Times of Need https://www.ishtar-collective.net/items/in-times-of-need?highlight=In+times+of+need

A special thing called video game stuff

1 ReplySimple. Cos space magic

5 Repliesto answer izanagi's? i like to think it's pure, concentrated, kinetic energy. for the others? either some extremley conveluted internal ballistics which could be realistic and plausible (yet pointless seeing as you would literally have to move the chamber upwards and backwards half an inch for it to make sense), or, just, artistic indulgence. i think the last wish scout is the one with a huge hole between the mag and the chamber? sure, awoken magic, your bullets are pushed through a pocket rift in the gun, whatever. truth of the matter is bungie prefer their weapons to be cool and fun instead of realistic, which imo is fine.

It’s called no logic energy

It's called "LIGHT"
