I was wrong, this Solstice Grind is too much.
When I did it on my Warlock, I thought to myself, “this grind isn’t to bad, no worse then last years Solstice.” Now I’m working on my Titan and with all the stuff I have to repeat such as the 50 Bounties, 1500 Orbs, 200 Solar Melee Kills, 10 Gambit Matches etc. is starting to bore me. Usually I never fall asleep playing Destiny. But the grind with this Solstice event, it’s honestly so boring it’s putting me to sleep... seriously. When a game is this grindy to the point of putting one to sleep due to boredom, then you know the grind is to much. Needs to be toned down just a bit. Solstice was far better last year then this year for sure.

I did one character and that is enough. I will get new gear in Shadowkeep.

I think almost all the longer requirements should be halved, just like with the minibosses, that would make it not seem like a chore. Even more when you factor in the 3 characters.. Contracts, gambit, strikes, i'm looking at you.

11 RepliesSame boat I'm in. I was fine the first time with my hunter. Now I'm at the rare armor with my warlock and I cant bring myself to do it. Its actually terrible. Still gotta complete at least another 20 gambit games to get the titan and warlock set and that alone is bringing me to my knees. Like I dont mind gambit to an extent, but I can't handle that much, and I've already grinded gambit HARD this season for both the hush and the 21% delirium. I've had enough of it. On a side note: WHY IS WARLOCK JUMP SO EFFING BAD!?!?!?!

Yeah I got through upgrading my first set of green armor and realized it would be better to not worry about armor and get the weapons I want since they will remain viable into next year. It worked out for me too, grinded a bit earlier and got a pretty solid militia's birthright

Stopped on day 2, didnt even finish the green set. Got other things to do so I decided to get off the treadmill. I have destiny 2 on pc and ps4.

2 RepliesEdited by Ratti: 8/9/2019 5:06:05 PMThe only requirements I really hate are complete 10 Gambit games, Strikes, Crucible, 25 Patrols and 100 minibosses. At least with the other requirements, you can streamline the process if you play efficiently. When it's just a set amount of times, I just know for a fact that I'm gonna have to grind each for like 2 hours at a time.

How about just be satisfied to have one full master-worked majestic armor on your main and don’t grind for alts if you feel it’s too much don’t do it. Change to fit requirements not the other way around. I did it for my hunter had everything master worked except shattered throne requirement after two days of that crap grind. Guess what I’m not doing that again because it was not fun at all. I would like to have armor on all characters but just not doing it even though they are toning down the requirements which I totally disagree with just like all the other times they have change requirements after people have completed them. This coming from someone who has every exotic currently available. Most of the seals almost all items available. Thousand of hours in game. I like to grind but just not feeling this. Most of these requirements should be account wide anyhow. It’s pretty crappy that they change several weeks later how about day one when people first got their blue set and said BS on the mini bosses that is when it should have been changed not three weeks and ,just guessing here, several hundred thousands of players completing it.

honestly I feel you, I'm not even doing the solstice armor this year 😴 doesn't seem worth it to grind out a set of gear I'll never use when I could be doing 300 other things. plus it looks bad lol

1 ReplyMelee solar kills grab a solar sword empty the ammo and then hit enemies. It counts as a melee.

My problem with it is More in the objectives. Don't make it play 10 strikes. To me this makes strikes feel like a slog and I just want to get them done. Instead make it something like get x amount of kills while in strikes. Another would be gambit don't make it play 10 matches make it deposit x amount of orbs or kill x amount of prime evil or better yet give us the option to crucible or gambit that way I never have to touch gambit again. One thing I will say that absolutely need to stop imo is anything to do with adventures. To me this is such a huge time waster.

It helps to hold onto your completed bounties before reaching the step. Spider has 7 daily bounties everyday, 3 gunsmith, some Eververse, 5 vanguard, 5-15 Drifter, 3 for each destination and much more. It is a lot. Try not to hyper focus one thing at a time and it will be bearable.

Any grind game is going to mean doing activities over and over again. This is not unique for Destiny and on fact Destiny grind is nothing compaired to games like Warframe or ESO. Or really MMOs like WoW I'd you can't handle Destiny's this is a you problem.

It's not that the grind was too much, it's just the only new thing was EAZ which the map was cool and all but there just was nothing to the activity. The whole solstice was pretty much just old content that everyone has been doing forever. At least last year was more fun with the different missions.

As a titan main I feel ya man. Just put on crest of alpha lupin (more orbs with supers) and use a mastered worked smg with a high ttk and you'll get through this, if you want to that is. Many have left before finishing one character so I commend you on that
