I was wandering in the tower and some random player dragged me into his team, he doesn't speak English but after a minute I figured out he was asking me to help him out in the Forsaken story mission, the Machinist. Damn I almost forgot how fun it was!
It wasn't quite difficult for average players but popping his head with Izanagi's burden was real fun. It really made me think, what if Bungie brings this kind of enemies to the patrol zones to replace those yellow bar "valuable targets"? We only get to fight these barons in the missions and adventures, that's not many opportunities for fun enemies like these guys.
Also, let them drop materials we can use to transmog our armours, forge weapon perks etc. This could bring some life to the patrol zones I guess.

I think flashpoints need a major overhaul. They need to be completely different from regular patrol with their own unique events. I want total war with NPCs fighting beside you, and ships fighting in the skies above you. They could come with an activity only available on that destination when it's the flashpoint. Flashpoints mean nothing once you've reached max level.
-
Flashpoint should turn that planet into a pretty crazy area. Instead of like just a major during a public event

1 ReplyThey had a REALLY good opportunity that they missed with Forsaken, I know WANTED enemies are a thing, if they were stronger than the strength of a stick, I would acknowledge them, but here's what I think they should've done, gangs of enemies, sometimes mixed race e.g Cabal and Fallen running together, with one big guy, that gang sets up in a location isolated enough that if somebody is collecting mats or doing PEs, it doesn't disturb the player and also active enough that if somebody does decide to pass very close by them or fight them, they pose a challenge to the average player.

1 ReplyI’d be worried if patrols were difficult because that’d mean that us guardians aren’t doing our jobs properly in missions to eliminate the tough guys.
-
Enemies need to constantly move against each other That's where the wars are.

3 RepliesEdited by Taril: 8/7/2019 3:42:14 PMThey should have "Heroic Patrol Zones" Where there are more than 3 enemies that exist in the entire map. Where "High Value Targets" are literally bosses. Where Public Events are ALWAYS Heroic. Where Lost Sectors scale to Nightfall difficulties. Where giant raid bosses can spawn (There needs to be a Kraken that attacks Titan for example) This should be where Forge Saboteurs and Wanted Targets are found too. So newbs can run around in their normal Patrol Zones, doing bounties and not getting their face rekt by random power level 600+ enemies. While for end-game you can have some actually engaging Heroic Patrol Zones that are more rewarding but also challenging.

What if they placed a super humongous world boss three times the size of the current biggest boss. Here’s the idea: Present an offering to “a hole”. Must have two or more guardians present and standing near the hole for the event to activate. Win: Possible Exotic, Exotic Catalyst, 100 Legendary Shards Pack, or 1,000 Bright Dust Pack

such as the ogre in dreaming city in front of the cathedral.

Edited by Corrick II: 8/8/2019 2:43:10 PMHaving a patrol zone with various levels of difficulty would be a good start. Difficulty would increase in levels starting from an easy area around spawn points to moderate difficulty and then move into a “dark forest” Grimm’s fairy tales kind of difficulty with serious beasts that even basic enemies are afraid to be around. Other responses bring up giant monsters as well, I’d love to see some massive NPC beasts in the patrol areas, like Lost Planet or Monster Hunter. I’ve said it before, a season that introduces exotic wildlife would be a lot of fun. Basically we need more than just the odd bullet sponge enemy we’ve seen a thousand times already.

6 RepliesPatrols are a public space. You ever seen what happens when a new player encounters the Forge Sabotour Servitor in the EDZ?
-
3 RepliesUhh, patrol is supposed to be mostly easy stuff. There are heroic public events and occasionally HVTs running around. Once you’re at max light level, patrols aren’t supposed to be super difficult.
-
Yes! And the reward should be the sunshot shotgun
-
4 RepliesYou're wanting Taken Champions like we had back in D1.
-
Id like more NPCs too, like how the corsairs are out and about in the dreaming city
-
3 RepliesRemember those Taken bosses that would spawn in patrols in D1? Good times.
-
3 RepliesRemember Taken Zealots? I remember Taken Zealots.
-
World bosses. With rewards which are actually good making it worth the wait for them to spawn and complete.
-
Throwing a few ideas out there Planetary Wildlife Relics Unknown Alien Species Faction points Distress beacons for fellow guardians Weekly Hidden adventures
-
Yes. Yes. And, yes.

Honestly, patrol zones where you get shot at nonstop is more an annoyance than a challenge. Having to go find a spot to hide so you can check your bounties on that stupid menu or change gear, while not getting peppered, it stupid. The newer patrol zones are actually quite lame.

2 RepliesEdited by Dark Raven 2501: 8/8/2019 3:39:31 AMYou want to challenge go do something else instead of messing with patrol or have you forgotten what it’s there for the first place? I don’t need elitist bullshit ... I don’t need idiots making things harder for others players that are just starting out. What bungie needs to do is stop listening to people like you’re self that what to ruin this game like those have done with pvp Edit: you asshat have ascendant challenge - nightfall - strike missions - raids and other endgame content ...... patrol is there for new players and those that are levelling up not for elitist shitheads looking for their next challenge
-
Agreed. They need more variance either way, but they need separate versions for higher level players where there are endgame events.

I would love to see patrol zones be introduced to large groups of enemies that are resilient asf. Like an enemy camp almost, or just encountering enemies doing stuff in general. Probably don't reward us with gear, but if we could get planetary resources by going out of our way to attack enemy camps or resources, that would be really awesome from a farming perspective and gameplay perspective.
-
Would be nice to have more patrol zones based on power level, dreaming city came close, but there should be one area that is like 10 levels above max power that you can grind endlessly
-
Yeah aswell as more enemies in patrol areas in general would be good,Some areas should have larger groups and other areas should have more groups around. The Rupture on Io for example has 1 group of about 5 and 6 groups of 3 spread out across the area and you could have 5 people running around that area at the same time.I like hanging out in patrol zones but sometimes it feels a little boring to me because in my opinion there are not enough enemies to shoot.
