So its been like, 2 days since Solstice of Heroes came out, and i think i am one of the closest people to getting my Legendary set on my hunter. Doing this involved craploads of trial and error (and too much time on my hands) but i was able to devise some means of accelerating the process:
Bounties:
-The 50 bounties part might seem hard, until you realize that every single vendor on every planet has AT LEAST 3 daily bounties available. Multiply that by 7 planets (Spider's bounties are weekly) and you have at minimum 21 daily bounties to complete. Aside from the Dreaming City ones, most of these are braindead-easy to do, as well.
1500 orbs, EDZ patrols, heroic public events, cabal killed:
-I grouped these together because i was able to complete all of them at once in the EDZ. I highly recommend using an elemental primary and a kinetic shotgun to expedite the process. If you are having a tough time with the 1500 orbs, get riskrunner and grind out Gofannon forge on an ARC day.
Void grenade kills:
-The fastest way to do this is most likely grinding the Kingship Dock lost sector on Tangled Shore. Titans and Warlocks have very good void grenade exotic armor, but for Hunters (because the devs are morons) you have basically nothing. For hunters i recommend a special (as in special ammo) weapon with Demolitionist because special weapons get more energy back per kill. Also you will need Vortex grenade. Spike and Voidwall are not reliable enough.
Void Crucible kills:
-If you dont have a fireteam to get this done, youll want a void elemental primary. If you dont have one you can theoretically rely entirely on your team's void weapon kills, but its unreliable. If you suck in Crucible like i do, this may be the most frustrating part. I was able to scrape by using a void auto rifle from CoO called Positive Outlook. Its very consistent and stable and chances are you already have it in your collections.
Challenges:
-FOR SOME REASON Ada-1's "forge two weapons per week" challenge doesnt work here, so youll have to rely on doing the Gambit, Crucible, Strike, Story Mission, or Adventure challenges to finish this. I cannot confirm if the Werner weekly challenge counts because theres no way im doing Gambit daily bounties.
Gambit:
-Gambit Prime is way faster than Gambit, though it can be more annoying because enemy damage is completely BROKEN sometimes. If youre trying to complete Gambit bounties while grinding this out, avoid the "miniboss" enemies that spawn in Prime. they can one-hit-kill you and make you lose all your motes. As for weapons, bring Arbalest for envoy-killing or Black Talon (or a machine gun) to deal with invaders. I personally prefer Black Talon because my aim against players isnt the best.
EAZ objectives:
-Your goal is to kill 100 minibosses, and your teammate's kills dont count. What do you do? lone-wolf it. There will always be two minibosses up at a time, so you should always hunt down the one your allies are NOT chasing. Its usually pretty easy to tell which one they're heading to, so go for the other one. A lightweight-frame weapon like Parcel of Stardust and a high mobility build can help you catch your targets quickly. Also, stick to the rooftops. Its way easier to navigate the rooftops instead of being on the ground.
EAZ contd:
-One thing i dont think most people realize is that YOU CAN USE YOUR SPARROW IN THE EAZ. Get a sparrow with a fast transmat speed and use it to stay ahead of your teammates while hunting the minibosses. If youre having trouble getting on the rooftops, i have a solution. From the point where you spawn, look to your left and then to your right. The Fallen tapestries draped on the buildings to the left, and the ruined parking garage to the right, are the easiest methods of climbing to the roof of any building.
Another tip for killing EAZ minibosses is to make a high-mobility melee build. Essentially, a build that allows you to move super fast and rely on your melee as your primary weapon. Winter's Guile, Karnstein Armlets (to a lesser extent), Synthroceps, Wormgod Caress, all of these items can help you build up insane melee damage while keeping yourself alive. For the hunters, you actually have the best item for the job: Liar's Handshake. Liar's Handshake not only allows you to build up INSANE melee damage with top-tree arcstrider, it will also heal you on a kill. Try to get a 3-stack of Combination Blow and a charged melee when you hit the miniboss, and you will be able to kill them in 2 hits.
One last time-saving tip with the EAZ, you dont have to complete matches. The moment the miniboss phase ends, just start a new EAZ run and go again. The chest and boss phases are a waste of time if youre trying to kill 100 minibosses, because the BIG bosses dont count.
NOTE ABOUT LIAR'S HANDSHAKE:
Combination Blow will stack every time you kill an enemy with a CHARGED melee within the time period. Use bottom dodge after each melee kill and then hit another enemy. The Cross Counter perk on Liar's Handshake ALSO needs a charged melee to activate, so make sure its charged before you punch the miniboss.

I bet people would appreciate a revival of this post. i doubt everyone's done with the event.

1 ReplyJust letting ya know that the objectives are different on each character. Most are the same but there’s small differences Solar kills vs void kills against guardians or patrols on Titan instead of Earth. (Warlock bs Hunter) The biggest one though is the Hunter needs void grenade kills but the Warlocks needs arc super kills (Easy) and Titans needs solar melee kills

9 RepliesVery good, thank you for this, with the exception of the following - doesn't seem like it's in good spirits to me - [quote]One last time-saving tip with the EAZ, you dont have to complete matches. 3 RepliesCheers for the tip about mini bosses in the eaz. Apart from that I’m motoring through everything else nicely. Nice to to know there are some guardians out there to take the time and effort to share and give tips. Nice one. Bump!

I think more people are gonna need this, so here's another bump

1 ReplyFor the bounties part you can also hold on to completed ones and turn them in when you get the armor.

3 RepliesLmao. Why even bother? It is the same armor we've been using until now. I have the armor rolls I want.
