Best Auto Rifles To Use in Gambit (Breakneck Quest)
I know that Auto Rifles are in a bad place right now, but I want to get that Breakneck. The only good Auto Rifle that I have and frequently use is the Y1 Origin Story. Judging by its ratings on DIM, it's not as good now than back in Y1. This is because I've been dormant on D2 because of Bungies bad decisions until Shadowkeep was announced, then I got hyped and hopped back on D2 and progressed quite a bit over the months, getting most good weapons and developing a good system that helped me with my Enhancement Core issue. Other than all that, what are some good Auto Rifles I could use in Gambit so I can get that Breakneck? I also have Ghost Primus and the Suros Regime that I could use, but IDK. I just want your guys' suggestions. What little good Auto Rifles should I look out for while playing D2? Keep in mind that I play absolutely no PvP (Crucible) and play mostly PvE and Gambit (a little bit PvP, but I try not to worry since it's PvEvP).

I use the Gnawing Hunger with Rampage and Minor spec, thing melts any red bars and if you hit headshots will also shred yellow bars

A Tigerspite with Outlaw and Rampage. I put a minor spec on mine and it smoked everything.

1 ReplyFor the multikills, you want rampage, so the haunted forest AR (origin story reskin), or even origin story. Exotics, Cerberus. Issue is you need multikills, and most ARs and tanky enemies mean you constantly run out of ammo before you get 2 kills. ARs are in a really bad place and you feel a detrement to your team. Don't worry about motes, just get the multi kills + AR kills as fast as possible, play normal gambit too, not prime. You'll be at around 15-18 games of the 40 needed, when your done. Then do your last games using anything but ARs. Newsflash tho, breakneck is an AR, so currently it's not good

I used mostly Halfdan and Suros for "long" range (for auto rifles) and Misfit as glorified SMG (for short range). If you don't have one, try Valakadyn, for me they seem to drop more frequently. Tigerspite with good roll isn't too shabby either, otherwise you can use that Bray Tech rifle, if you have one. If you already have access to Black Armoury, try Ringing Nail, especially with Dragonfly. That thing is just awesome. If you're titan, try use Actium War Rig, it helps. Cerberus also could help you.

At the start of every wave I would dash over and throw down a Luna empowering rift and mow everything down. It didn’t take me long. I didn’t use it, but sweet business is also viable.

If you don’t have those use Tigerspite it’s pretty easy to get a decent roll and is stable and reliable. I also used Gnawing Hunger a little but preferred the Tigerspite. Good luck though breakneck is by far worth it and the best legendary Auto imo Edit out Suros for PvE sorry just saw you don’t play PvP

Kibou AR3 or Braytech Winter Wolf, both relatively stable and comfortable to use, Kibou has dragonfly aswell which is always fun in pve.

i used quite a few (kept trying to find one that worked... but unfortunately it was painful as autos are just downright bad in gambit). some of them took half to 3/4 of a clip to kill 1 single red bar enemy. hard to get double kills when you're burning all your ammo on 1 enemy. tigerspite (kill clip/outlaw) horror story (zen moment/rampage) hazard of the cast (triple tap/rampage) cerberus+1 (exotic). the cerberus was probably the best. but it was still a struggle compared to basically ANY other kind of weapon.

Sweet Business does work for primary slot, and Age Old Bond is what I used for secondary with Dragonfly but it all depends on what you can get your hands on. Just don’t use Hard Light or Suros and you’re good. They’re not particularly good in PvE.

Cerberus +1 is absolutely the way to go. Shreds invaders if you catch them off guard and destroys enemy targets really fast

Valakadyn auto rifle was the best legendary for me. Either the year 1 version, or a better year 2 roll are both the best autos for said scenario.
