Ranking D1/D2 ‘Horde’ Activites

So I feel like for a while now - ever since The Court of Oryx, really - Bungie has been trying to create Destiny’s ‘Horde’ mode, with differing tactics and results, but the same basic principle: fight a whole bunch of enemies all at once in ‘waves’ of challenges. I thought it would be interesting, given the recent release of the Menagerie, to see how the community ranked those various activities. (Point of order: I’m asking for a ranking of the activities themselves, how fun they are to play, rather than their position in the game’s overall economy. So if you hate playing the Reckoning, that’s fair - but if you only hate it because you feel like it’s an unnecessary level of grind for the rewards on offer, not so much.) My own personal rankings (apologies if I left something out) would be: 1. Menagerie 2. Blind Well 3. Court of Oryx 4. The Forge 5. The Reckoning 6. Black Armory 7. Escalation Protocol 8. Prison of Elders I may be overvaluing The Menagerie by a bit, since it’s still ‘fresh’, but I feel fairly comfortable in most of the other rankings. I also should make it clear that I don’t ‘hate’ any of these activities; there are just some I enjoy more than others. So what are your rankings, Guardians?

  • I liked Archon’s Forge...when there were a few people in there. Challenge of the Elders was my next favorite. At least you had a chance to get some cool looking guns. Escalation Protocol after reaching a higher light level would probably be third.

Prison of elders should be top of the list or second at the very least.

        • What was the updated version of Prison of Elders called in D1? Think it was much shorter and better than the original, but can't remember the name.

I never came back for RoI. Not sure I’d call Reckoning or PoE “horde” modes. With that being said: Menagerie Escalation Protocol Blind Well Court of Oryx Black Armory Forges
