I may be in the minority here or there might just be something I don’t understand. I work seasonally so I don’t have as much time to play as I do in the winter. The menagerie has been fun because it’s something I can do without any friends online and still “have a chance” of a reward I want. I spend materials to buy rune finders, farm the runes (time investment), do menagerie run 20-30min, then cash in my runes (second material cost) to maybe get the gear I’m looking for. I think my question is; why would you take away the only way to get loot you want in the game by forcing the grind out to 1 drop per run? Considering the time investment already required and only being able to guarantee 1 piece of gear that still isn’t what you need. I might have done 10 runs of menagerie and it is fun! But I’ve still only gotten 1 gun I’m happy with (not a god roll or me being crazy particular) and 1 out of maybe 20 helmets had an enhanced perk (not sniper rifle targeting like I am being looking for haha). All of these things don’t bother me but thinking that I could do menagerie 50 times and still not have what I’m looking for kinda sucks. With those odds and that drastic increase in time investment I don’t see why I would bother playing the game mode? I would rather play crucible and just have fun with what I have than waste my time doing something 50 times for 1 loot drop I’m “happy with” I would like to propose a time reduction for the end sequence to allow us multiple drop chances or rewards being added to encounters completed on time. I already have more purple runes than I will ever use and I’m choosing to roll helmets with recovery instead of chasing the fusion rifle. But whole heartedly I’m kind of sad that I feel I won’t be able to get a lot of these cool new guns that came out simply because I couldn’t play all day in the month it was farmable.

  • Bungie has to fix this glitch for two reasons. 1. Some players on PC are reportedly pulling as many as 10 drops per run from the chest. 2. This game's lootpool simply isn't deep enough to support this level of generosity. So if they didn't fix this, the average player would strip mine the game of everything in a few more weeks....and then this community would be complaining of "nothing to do" from remaining 6 weeks of the season. They HAD to fix this for the good of the game. But what the glitch DID show was how STINGY the rest of the game is from a loot standpoint. Destiny 1 had become a fairly generous game by the end of its life. But Destiny 2 made some bad design choices that broke the PVE end game (fixed rolls)....and designing teh game around "balancing" PVP left this game with a hard time generating interesting loot to chase. So Bungie---as is kind of their habit---retreated into the sort of withholding and stinginess that plagued Y1 of Desiny 1. The infamous LOOT Cave was the community red flag to Bungie that the game needed to be a lot more generous with its loot. This chest glitch is another such red flag that the game has become too stingy. We've been complaining about it for months...and Bungie kept ignoring us. But with this glitch....the communitie's response to it...and the resurgence that the game as a whole has experienced (in part) because of it. Bungie continues to ignore this at their own peril. This game need to become a LOT more generous with its loot..AND they need to deepen and broaden the perk trees so that the loot table can support that kind of generosity without running out of loot to offer.

    • After this "glitch" is fixed the Menagerie will die out, simple is that. i did 60 (SIXTY) Reverie Dawn Helmets for my Hunter to get Enhanced Hand Cannon Targeting, not a single one had it. after the update i just don bother with it anymore and accept that i dont get this Perk. i dont do a 15min run just for 3 Legendary Shards, not to mention the Runes, you need to farm them too and dont think it's easy. I have around 90+ of purple and i get them like ALOT, red is common, blue is super rare and green is even worse. no way to trade the sh!tty Runes for the ones you need.

    • Its a glitch man not something that was intended. Cash in on it while you can lord knows I am but lets not pretend that this was intended. Bungie has been more than gracious and normally would patch something like this the next day instead we got nearly a whole month to exploit. Use your time wisely or waste it in vain.

      • ...Because it was supposed to be limited to one per run? Yes, I get that being able to pull all 3 powerful rewards or milk the chest for the perfect roll on something on as few runs as possible is incredibly convenient, but you have to be absolutely mental to think that the menagerie chest was not meant to be 1 drop per run in the first place. The chest is not being 'messed with'. It's being fixed to work like it was supposed to from the the get go. Maybe they'll change how the event loot is rewarded in the future, but THIS iteration is not working properly. That's why its being fixed.

      • Only scrubs double dip on a glitch. If anything, doing well should reward multiple chests, like defeating multiple bosses in the Verdant Forest during the Revelry.

      • I think that there should be chests for every activity with the tier of loot depending on your score for said activity. Perhaps low score runs would only give you more runes, mid score giving purple-red rune tier gear, high score giving you up to green rune tier gear, and flawless being able to give you blue rune tier gear along with master worked gear.

      • After this week Ill be finished with it, Running back and fourth was the best part of the event seeing how many times you could get it done. I have all the amour and all the weapons with all the rolls that suits me and 750, but...... i'd still play it for the chest rally because that was fun and challenging you to do better runs each time, but as this is being took away I cant see the point bothering. The Hunter is pretty quick to get the chests but I came up with the ultimate set for the titan and it out ran anyone going back and fourth..... Dunemarchers, and the two Midas

        • For an opulent season, it sure misses the feeling. Started out nerfing certain exotics, then the chest issue comes to light. Very strange indeed

        • The activity was great. While it lasted. Sadly when it's just one. I might not even bother doing it anymore. Keep the time limit. Give us 5 chests. Or one after each activity in the activity.

            • Imo a lot of the damage has already been done. The longevity of the activity will take a huge hit as people are essentially doing 10 runs in one. If you think the forges are empty, menagerie is going to be worse in a few months, not to mention it being a 6 player activity.

            • The reason its changing is basically what i did yesterday. Right now austring is one of the top tier pvp weapons. You can farm it super easy for god rolls (i have outlaw rampage, not a god roll to most but for me its perfect). God rolls destroy metas because they break bungies weak balancing and game design. God rolls show that they cant balance pvp nor the enemies in pve to make them challanging. Hince why the meta changes every few months. I havent been back playing long, maybe a month or so. I left in the solstice before forsaken came out, sometime in september 2018 maybe before that. When i left scouts were still good in pvp and pve, and sidearms like last hope ruled crucible, i still had one masterworked when i logged back on. Now both of those are absolute garbage save for a very very minute few. So, if a god roll just happened to pop out of menagerie that shifts the meta everyone will have it cause they can farm for several per run. That and bungie hates when their flaws are shived back in their face.

              Needs additional chests for every successful encounter within the time limit. Like how Revelry rewarded more chests the more bosses you killed. This will promote working as a team rather than going afk for 1 chest.
