Region lock option for the love of god
90% of the lag in the game is created by the crap ass international matchmaking. I get it if you're playing in a fireteam because many of us, me included, have friends in other countries. But when I'm playing solo going up against players from the other side of the planet every game is trash.

1 ReplyIt’s strange when I see people complain about this. I live in NZ and 95% on the people I see are clearly from NZ/AU judging by there names anyway, I run into the same people quite often too. Heck I regularly see people I used to see way back in Destiny 1. I doubt there’s a huge player base in NZ/AU so if anything our matchmaking should be more screwed then the rest but that’s not the case

2 RepliesI am in North America and it seems that I see more names and clan tags that re languages I don't speak then ones I do speak and the lag is horrible most of the time with them. I would say 90% or better of my games have some guy or guys from other countries lagging and teleport all over the map. I have posted vid after vid for years to Bungie but they have done nothing. I am not posting more vids since I have posted more than enough and Bungie knows there are issues.

7 RepliesI’ll be honest at least 5/12 people in my crucible games always have some Spanish clan name. It’s more rare to see English clan tags or seeing BR/PR in the gamer tag. Can I just queue with North America or even west EU?

1 ReplyIt wouldn't help as much as you'd think: people can play through a VPN service to appear to be coming from anywhere... and still have the same (if not more) latency. It's more likely that your opponents are cheating, using a lag switch (mechanical or software). I don't find D2 laggy compared to D1, so I find the lag switchers and cheaters to be very noticeable. And playing east coast late night/early morning is a horror show of playing cheaters from the other side of the world: it must be the time when the kids get out or something because it's just non-stop lagswitching (they'll be obvious about it and start teabagging, just in case you're not sure if they're cheating or not). 12 RepliesI've been banging this drum for 5 years lol. I'm UK, n my lobbies before midday are Russians, Kuwaitis, Saudis, Egyptians, after midday it's 6 stacks from Spain and Italy. I rarely if ever see other UK players, and rarely see pings under 200. I'm wired, fibre optic, and have zero issues in anything else internet related. Everytime I log on I see some guy called something like HafeezQ8sweatking420 (Q8 is Kuwait btw), he'll kill me several times and I can see him, then I'll super him, he'll take 0 damage, 1 hit insta melee me at full health, then teleport across the map at 3 FPS. Game ends and he's 75-2 Our only hope is when pc moves to steam in sept, I'm told unlike battlenet there's no region lock on Steam, once streamers start playing Hector from Peru, they'll cry loud enough to spread awareness.

Maybe a choice. People have friends all over the world they play with. Blocking them out would not be fair. I understand your concerns but having a choice has to be a better way.

Yes please. I'd love to be able to play without some Asian player lagging up the match. I mean, why are UK/EU players being matched against Asian players anyway?!? That is literally the other side of the planet!

I find my best time in crucible (especially comp) has been in the early morning from 8am-11am. Once it hits noon, it's 50/50. Anything passed 3pm is hogwash gutter trash.

They do make special routers that force region lock on games. They can be expensive but well worth it if you want to avoid the aggravation . Just remember though , games like destiny force people to play with others from any other region. Thats why i support hardware that says -blam!- you to no options.

Why I don't play pvp in the evening (unless I absolutely have to) . It's like a completely different game past 6ish est .
