What logic is this, seriously? I usually defend Bungie, but this is surprising.
Why is it that everything that is enjoyed by the community will inevitably see a nerf? I mean, you guys have almost a 100% predictable rate of anything that's exciting and fun will be nerfed. Guns, activities, events, etc, etc.
What is this logic? What do you stand to gain by taking things away from us? Do you not fully understand how this makes people want to play your game LESS? I just want some insight, because I don't -blam!-ing understand. When a restaurant makes good food, and starts getting busy, have you ever heard of them making it taste worse? Like, what is this?

1 ReplyEdited by Docyx13: 7/2/2019 3:36:28 PMHot-Take: "What do you mean developing challenging content is impossible if I have unlimited ammo in my sniper and unlimited super???? I should be able to 2 tap people in crucible but only me because if it happens to me it's not fairrrrrr!!!!!! You should be better at YOUR job. I COULD DESIGN A GAME BETTER FROM MY BATHROOM. ARGHARGHARGHARGHARGH." ^^^^ What I hear every time someone complains about nerfs.

What are we talking about here? Pretty sure Bungie can’t give you reasons for nerfs if you don’t specify what nerfs

4 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 6/29/2019 4:06:02 PMSome of it's intentional for whatever personal reasons that don't benefit the player base and some of it they don't know what they are doing. What I want to know is, how does a company work on a project for 12 years and I mean any company in this entire world and not know there own game by now that they have to constantly change things looking like they're just winging the entire game? This is a serious question because at least in D1 they tried to keep the game moving forward and stayed with a plan that it did move forward from The Taken King on. D2 if everyone is honest with themselves it is a mess and far worse off then D1 was around the same time. But, it also doesn't help that the community can't even stick together on anything and agree on anything unless it's something that majorly hurts the game like when the base game released that removed random rolls and handing everything out like candy removing that sense of value, but here is the kicker about it... The community asked for thing to have more of a meaningful experience which I agree, but the community literally did not ask Bungie to go to the extreme with it in just about every aspect of the game. What does Bungie do? Bungie goes the complete opposite of what was actually asked for, why is that, I can take a huge guess that having 2 community summits with only streams had something to do with that. Has this company ever heard of taking small steps, you know taking things slow to see how things play out instead of just jump straight ahead to the extreme? Some don't like how I post but I don't care at all because I rather be real then lie to myself about what has actually taken place. Bungie has some gamers convinced that less is better when in reality that is a straight out lie. Nerfing everything in the game or constantly removing, changing things for their own interest has not helped this game one bit. This game has so much potential, yet they refuse to look at what opportunities they have to get this game in a good place that will benefit both "casual and hardcore gamers". No people, in spite of what you would like to think, destiny is not a hardcore gamers game. It's a game this company doesn't know where they are going with and the investment team has only made matter worse. Bungie said this is an MMO but they don't have it set up like one and when you look at PvP alone that 2 years later still only has 4v4 maps in a game that is supposed to be "MMO" Yeah, something wrong here people knowing D1 had 8v8 maps in the first year it was released.

11 RepliesBecause you are not playing the way bungie want you to play....you are not allowed to have fun.
-
better nerf luna howl , 3 tap .68 ttk is to fast but ohk weapons aren't a problem because you start with two rounds ? and can easily get more ?
-
Balance and fairness. Sure it’s fun as hell to use lord of wolves but when it’s used against you and you decide -blam!-it I’m not playing this steamer anymore. Fun has to be on both sides of the encounter.

3 RepliesEdited by Reclaimer: 6/29/2019 9:36:55 AMMost of what people consider “fun” is either an exploit or broken. I pray that this post wasn’t indirectly taking a stab at the chest bug being fixed a week from now. We’re lucky they didn’t fix it sooner; it should have been. I exploited it harder than most people, and I’m still saying this.
-
Amen...
-
It's probably because we'd only ever use the same stuff going forward
-
6 RepliesWe also know the exotic nerfs are precisely to change the meta. We had sleeper, then Queenbreaker, then whisper, Same with armour pieces — Bungie wants you to try new/old pieces in the slot otherwise (as a voidwalker) dire skull would never be unequipped. They just want to force us to make use of all the different exotics they’ve made over y1 and 2. Same will happen on September, they’ll nerf the meta so the combat in the new season won’t be the same as the last. No one wants to be nova warped in PvP for more than one season, same with spectral. It’s actually a really subtle way of making the same shoot shoot die die feel different each season.

Edited by thechair: 7/1/2019 4:06:23 PMI think it's important to remember that power creep is a real thing, and if left unchecked, mechanics will eventually become utterly broken. every live service game that sticks around for years has to find ways to 'nerf' certain items. I think Bungie at least does a decent job off buffing other options, and offering new powerful loot to replace the old. This creates a meta that shifts and does not grow stale. I know it sucks when our favorite gear takes a hit, and I think Bungie could go about this better, but ultimately it is for the extended health of the game.
-
1 ReplyIt's supposed to shift the meta. The issue I'm having is that the majority of exotics are useless. The few that are good get nerfed to the same level of the others under the guise that players are overusing them. If you want players to use different exotics than make them useful! Not op but useful.
-
They claim power creep, but it's simply to keep up with demand. They can't make every weapon powerful, they can't make content super hard, they can't make every season have the best items. Things have to be nerfed and changed so that they can keep people playing.
-
1 ReplyThis exploit doesn’t even hurt the balance of the game, its a pve activity lol. The fact something this small exploit is getting removed shows how stingy bungie wants their game to be.
-
16 RepliesBungie don't seem to learn from things that are broken. Every few weeks an exploit is found, the community swarm round it, and that event becomes very popular. A very short time later, bam Bungie fix it, and the fun is over. (obviously it takes them much longer if the glitch is in their favour) Surely someone with half a brain cell at Bungie should be analysing this, and making new content themed around "What Works?" If getting to open 3 chests pulls in players to that event, give them 3 chests? If pushing Atheon off ends the encounter early, let it be possible, but perhaps add conditions to be able to do that? But no, Bungie want meagre rewards in the mistaken belief it'll keep you Grinding. But content can get real boring real quick, especially if the time spent vs reward sucks ass. Really don't understand why Bungie stick to this outdated model, insisting everything you earn has to be done by "Pulling Teeth"
-
Because if everything will be fun it will be boring and not fun at all. It just will be another game.
-
Bungie have never held back with injecting negativity into their game.
-
Oh if it were only just the nerfing but you are right... No need to nerf anything, they should only buff, many have said this since the beginning and most of those people are gone because they didn't want to waste their lives on this nonsense. Everything should be improved, not minimized. I go on a lot about having Match Making added to this game for EVERYTHING for those same reasons. What they have done from the beginning is make the game less fun, like nerfing and talking things away from us, when they should be adding and giving us more choices. Nope, we won't get that here. Someone will go on about of Match Making will kill the game, when it doesn't effect them at all. This is what you're dealing with here. It won't change, bungie doesn't know how.
-
Bungie want you to play their way. Player choice is a myth.
-
1 ReplyThat's what bungie does. Give us something awesome to later turn it into a turd.
-
3 RepliesDude, look around the posts on here. They nerf things because people around here whine and whine all day.
-
So much for not over working the Devs. Things like this don’t need be a priority!
-
I want to the the usage rate of the Whisper after its nerf. Bungie certainly succeeded at changing it from a meta weapon into the same as most exotics: a boring gimmick with no real point.
-
2 RepliesThey are trying to push casual players out and have the game for HC players. Suits me fine, there are plenty of fun games out or being released in the future.
-
Have you ever read any posts on this forum?

7 RepliesHaving something super powerful is not fun as it makes players only use that one thing. Why have all these options and not be able use them? Things should be balanced. End of story.
