For the Truthy quest you need to be ascendant and look for those ascendant ledges to get to certain chests.. and more..
Does Bungie ignores their own lore by purpose?
Nessus will not have any of this since its not the dreaming city..the dreaming city had this dual set up of real world versus ascendant realm and this is quite unique to the dreaming city.. also those structures havent been build on nessus so where on earth /nessus do those structures originate from? did Variks build them there after the war?
also, can we have a short talk about the accuracy of language in riddles?
the nessus chest is not "near the cistern" .. its RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE.. the "cistern" is an area and due to the description it should be in one of the neighboring areas.. and there are even very well suited spots where someone could have hidden a chest..
plus that corsair badge quest step is pure and simply bad.. if the map fragment is encrypted, you can simply walk to that corsair and ask him to decrypt.. or the cryptarch.. or petra, or any of the techions that are standing around if that badge corsair can do it..
Dear bungie,.. please remember outbreak prime.. or whisper of the worm and not outbreak perfected or thorn or malfeasance or izanamis burden.. those were BADly designed quests..
have a quest that has accessibility ( i salute for the hint that there is a quest coming for the truth , i was asking for the "initial hint" since thorn.. so thanks for this.. ) and some causal relations rather than "look at youtube to find a tutorial how to find that not further described spot that can only be found by combing through the patrol area for hours but can tbe deducted by those hints..

5 RepliesOutbreak perfected whisper malfeasance and thorn were not difficult quests

2 RepliesThe ascendant realm is an entire other dimension, it's accessible almost anywhere, it's how the Hive fast travel to places. It's just that in the DC the lines between dimensions are extra thin, so it's easier to do stuff there, but it's not impossible elsewhere in the system

2 RepliesEdited by Spicy Water: 6/15/2019 12:32:30 AMThere have been multiple uses of the Ascendant Realm within Destiny. The King’s Fall and Croatas End raids were all about entering their little slices of Ascendant Realm to kill them for realsies until whatever the hell happens in Shadowkeep. While it is easier to go between realms in the Dreaming City, due to some weird Awoken space magic reason I guess, the Ascendant Realm is not solely present in the Dreaming City

folk your lore

Sorry man the ascendant realm is another dimension it can be triggered anywhere in the galaxy. Just saying :)

1 ReplyThey made it up as they go along.
Does Bungie ignore their own lore?
Yes. The lore and "story" are just filler at this point. Cranking out random annual pass stuff, eververse emotes, handcannons and rng grind is the meat of the game.
-
So you somehow just know there wouldn’t be those anywhere else? How do you know? They aren’t ignoring their lore

Ascendant realms don’t only exist in the dreaming city, the barriers between the two are just weak there so you see a lot more there. Doesn’t mean you can’t find cracks in other locations in the solar system.

Edited by Golden: 6/13/2019 2:53:13 PMBungie after ShadowKeep
Yeah we’re adding Scorn to the Dreadnaught, cause why not
Do they need to follow their lore? They announce a returning exotic and everyone calls it -blam!-ing "new" for crying out loud. They get so excited about returning gear that Bungie don't need to worry about any of that. Give people something to do. Give them old gear. Give them skins available for purchase through Eververse. They'll be happy.

4 RepliesIn this instance, no they did not ignore their own lore.

1 ReplyI suspect it's more that our understanding of the Ascendant realms may be flawed. I think it's much closer to an overlapping alternative dimension -- similar to "The Upside Down" if you're a Stranger Things fan. Thus these exist everywhere -- not just the dreaming city.

12 RepliesFirst of all, how is the Whisper quest good but the OP quest bad? Also, why didn’t you like those other quests? They seemed pretty well put together to me

2 RepliesEdited by KAB0T: 6/12/2019 5:45:52 PMThe vex did invade Oryx's throne world in the past, so it's not entirely impossible that they have backdoors into the ascendent realm...

The Dreaming city is a place where the seams of reality are thin. That does not mean that everywhere else does not have cracks.. Whoever hid this weapon, knew what to do and how to do it. We are in no ways fully knowledgeable about the destiny world. Got a bunch of things still to learn.

Wait wat Outbreak perfected is the new one Not outbreak prime.

You know Lord Snacks has an ahamkara skull hanging over his head right? Those things basically never shut up. Also they grant powers even when they are dead. Whose to say this isn’t some cracked out matrix where some jerk had all his friends die and said to one of those wish dragons “hey can you bring my friends back to life and make sure they never die again?”

Google "7066 Nessus". We know very little in the Destiny world about what goes on out past the orbit of Jupiter. ...and we are still learning. The Ascendant plane is a seperate dimension associated with The Darkness. The Dreaming City is unique because the boundaries between the AP and our realm are THIN there. But to assume that the DC is the only such nexus was getting out ahead of your skis. Especially since what we know about the AP and the Darkness at this point is very little.

If someone hid the map there, then clearly they had to know something. There's a possible explanation. Not like we really know how the platforms are made
