Did a little SoO today and instead of previous years new campaigns to run, it's another season of...
Go to Nessus and kill Cabal. Now melee Vex. Now go run this lost sector.
People can say what they want about Curse of Osiris, but at least it was something new and different and I'd take that story over the nothing that exists in Y2 any day.

24 RepliesYes. But after playing through that story the first time, how often did you go back to replay it? If you're like me....you don't. I think the FORMAT for the Annual Pass is fine. I think that this slow drip is exactly what the game needs, as opposed to formal DLCs that the community BINGES on for 4-6 weeks....then spends the next three months complaining that the game is too small....and complaining that the follow-up DLC's are too small. The problem I see with the Annual Pass is that the content was just too repetitive. Everything that Bungie gave us (other than the raids) was some form of horde mode. I think Menagerie is going to be the best VERSION of horde mode they've given us....but its still a horde mode. The other problem is loot. This is a loot-game....and the game is **starving** for loot....and I suggest that people would be less focused on the content, if the game actually had cool-and-powerful loot to chase. Because the fact is that this game has a SHIT ton MORE things to do than Destiny 1 ever did. But the problem is that loot system is broken...and the progression system is broken. Facts that we keep getting POKED IN THE EYE with at the start of each season.

you want a story read the lore lol
-
i prefer having the choice of what i buy. though some was good, i dont like buying what i dont play.
-
Guessing you havnt completed the quest huh? Because the 6 player activitt is the best thing period ever in D2 I'm enjoying it

20 RepliesSoO is by far the best season tbh
-
Exactly. No idea wtf is going on regarding the actual Traveler story line. And is the Golden Age something we can reacquire. I presume we intend to become stronger and reestablish our civilization. But instead I’m trying to whack fellow Guardians in Gambit. Shrugs

8 Replies(Opinion incoming) I thought the annual pass was pretty ok in terms of content. I got a good amount of enjoyment out of the content in it. However, the lack of PvP content really disappointed me.
-
I enjoyed the stream of new stuff to do with the Annual Pass I do wish there was more story to it. Stories don’t have to be universe shattering, just a local story line.
-
5 RepliesWait until tomorrow. You’re in for a suprise
-
Edited by Mike: 6/5/2019 3:51:23 PMYea and how many times are you going to play that story?
-
Yeah, man. Miss those 4-hour campaigns and the +2 strikes that are just more campaign missions and then 3 months til Christmas for more Dawning or whatever.
-
Hopefully the leaks are true with Shadowkeep. A physical collectors edition was apparently confirmed by rather credible sites with info for the game like Kotaku
-
It’s honestly better then nothing. You remember what happened after the Taken King? Nothing till April with 1 strike and updated prison of elders. September of the same year we got Rise Of Iron. May the next year we got the age of triumph. I prefer an annual pass rather to having nothing for months
-
Yeah I’d prefer not to have time wasted making trash story missions that you play through once and never think about again.
-
I prefer the AP over something like CoO. While warming was good, the story wasn’t. I’d rather have an AP, with 2 new strikes/crucible maps, new vendor (Ada-1 is the perfect example of what they should be), new activities, and a raid. Then a big expansion in September like forsaken.

I like the Menagerie, and certainly appreciate the buffs to swords. Problem is that long-standing issues aren't often addressed. A few of them are, yes, but there are still problems that can be a bummer, or just outright kill any desire to keep playing. I want to play code of protector, but not be absolutely useless. (Address underused trees and try to find out why.) I want that one last Titan exotic, but I keep getting duplicates. (Bring in true duplication protection, only allow duplicates after all are obtained.) These are just a couple examples of issues that really sour an otherwise good game.
-
1 ReplyI skipped the whole AP thing as I realised it wasn't going to be for me. Problem is, I am not sure I can be bothered to return in September regardless of what they come up with now.

9 RepliesWe need new crucible maps, armour sets and weapons! I mostly play pvp and I paid for the season pass. Where is my content? #whereismycontent

So much this. This has been simultaneously the most I have spent on a video game and the least I have enjoyed it. Their idea of new content is go run this lost sector (even though it's not really lost since you've been there 4377 times), kill X number of enemies with X weapon, etc. GrindIng the same crap is their idea of new content. I'm convinced they have a poor understanding of the word "new". Although it's nice they bothered to make some new eververse gear (yeah it's locked behind silver, but you can go to the eververse menu and look at it, so that's something). If this is how destiny content is going to be released next year, I'm out. Sad, since the reason I first bought a 1X was for destiny.

shameless plug. more detail on the letdowns. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/252333591?sort=0&page=0

As much as the community is split on stuff like this you guys have to remember this content was planned out whilst Bungie was still with Activision and is likely to change going forward. The season so far is a definite improvement from the last with a game mode that almost everyone can enjoy on top of it being fun. With the next expansion Bungie will most likely show their prowess again but... I am in agreement that Annual Passes are a bad idea as paid content. These seasons feel akin to 2016's April Update content that is plentiful and invests players but by adding a paywall Bungie is segregating the community but ultimately I like to think that was Activision greed and Bungie going forward can turn a new leaf and make us the community proud of the content and our time commitment again.

Players wanted farmable game content and we got it. Personally, I like the Annual Pass and stuff in year two over year one.
-
It's called Shadowkeep and it's coming possibly in September this year.

2 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 6/5/2019 11:47:24 AMThe way Bungie has produced content and updates with D2, the Annual Pass should be only used as a filler in-between expansions like forsaken. So instead of getting another Annual Pass knowing how bad this game is lacking in just about every aspect of it that it really doesn't leave much replayable content? We should be getting an expansion like Forsaken or ROI after this Annual Pass. What I don't get is, it was just Bungie working on D1 until later on, I think it was High moon that helped them out after the game released and D2 it was Bungie and 3 other studios? This game should not be lacking at all as bad as it is with 4 studios working on this game.

6 RepliesReally miss story aspects.

Agreed. Pre-ordered season pass as have been happy with D2>Year1>Forsaken Logged in for new content, tried it and logged out until next season, repeated for drifter as drifter's stuff was never for me anyway, and here I am at opulence just not feeling much drive other than reaching the light cap which is free anyway. This game and this season pass was the one that stopped my previous attitude of happily pre-ordering season passes blind. Wish my action made a blind bit of difference but I know it won't .....
