Do you think there will ever be cool Iron banner gear again like rise of iron or early D1 gear? I think the last 3 sets have been hot garbage.

I don’t know what happened to the armor designers from D1 to D2, but I would guess they’re not the same ones. Almost every armor set in D2 is god awful ugly. Particularly all my Titan shoulders. 😡 Just looking back at what D1 had, especially near the end with the special armor ornaments that gave us stuff like tentacle arms, vex legs, etc. and it’s just so sad seeing what we have now.

No this game is floating in the toilet bowl.... More Nerfs than useful Exotics. There’s really no use in chasing anything anymore when they’re just going to nerf it into the ground.

No, the way the design team is going now. This game will die a very slow and painful death, it might take a while but it is a very slow internal bleed that isn’t/can’t be operated on.

Nothing has come close to the Iron Regalia set from D1 for me. I hope they bring something close to that in a future season. I totally agree though, I haven’t liked any of the armor sets last few seasons personally

3 RepliesIf you haven't figured this out yet - almost no armor in D2 matters. Pick a set with perks/looks you like, then stick with it. Don't fall for the IB hype of earning a new worthless set each season. I'm personally sticking with 2 main sets besides exotics - the Last Wish raid set (because I've already master-worked and applied transcendent blessings on the set) and Black Armory because you can earn new pieces at the higher power levels from running forges. Other than than, I'm done with armor. Also, other than Leviathan raid armor, no other raid armor sets have perks that are raid specific. Bungie really dropped the ball on armor in D2, so just pick what you like and stick with it.

The first set was the best IMO (which later received the ornaments). Hunters looked pretty good.

They got rid of all the excitement with armors, the moment faction rallies and trials were gutted and we stopped getting seasonal sets from vanguard and crucible. It's all the same copypaste stuff now.

I should add that I haven't really tried in an Iron Banner since they wasted my time in Year 1 with the removal of ornaments coming from every Season. Losing all that Y1 progress did it's work on me in that factor.

Edited by Slevi: 5/16/2019 8:37:25 PMThe cool gear has usually been Trials or faction rallies I think. Well, the titans usually got the best looking armors in faction rallies. Year 1, hunters had the nicest looking armor. Warlock armors a mixed bag. Few nice armor sets here and there.

2 RepliesThe sets have never been that great. I don't know why you people from the past keep coming in now and explaining why D1 sets were better from Iron Banner but they just flat were not better. They were also re-skins, and the only unique looking armor piece was the Titan helmet from Taken King that made you look like a crusader. That was it. No other armor piece or set was interesting in the slightest bit, were all reskins, and sucked. Nobody liked them. Stop pretending like you didn't spend the last 3 years in the last game complaining about the exact same issue you're having now. Get real.

I liked the titan arms with the wolf heads from D2 Y1. It's a shame that stuff like that isn't viable anymore now that Y2 armour has better perks. Come to think of it, there are a few sets from Y1 I prefer over what we have now. Why do they drain the loot pool and leave all that hard work behind?

It is literally an uglier, more basic, crappier version of the same armor from the past 2 seasons (very similar art style, shapes, etc., but way uglier.) Top that off with the fact that there havent been new guns in 6 months... there is no reason for me to play banner and i collect everything. Im not playing a control-only playlist for ugly armor and an emblem that shows people i spent time in a control-only playlist obtaining ugly armor. Lmao this seasons IB was a complete MISS in every possible way. Iron burden? Dont get me started. Facepalm. Next seasons IB should have: unique armor that actually looks good, new weapons, curated weapon reward. NOT ugly armor, no new guns, and a GREY emblem for choosing to punish yourself in a playlist that is unenjoyable to begin with. Iron banner is so easy to get right... so do it.

I personally liked D1 armor sets better, granted Warlock helms still haven’t gotten any prettier. But for me, the only good looking armor is Dawning. [spoiler]And hell if I’m buying silver for a chance at armor with decent rolls.[/spoiler]

4 RepliesUnfortunately, due to the armour style bungie chose for destiny 2 I don’t see this happening. They went with a more simple and casual looking armour vibe rather than a creative and unique style from destiny 1 (looking at you all enemy themed armour). Destiny 2 is just a generic and simplified RPG where room for creativity was limited from the get go.

I havent bothered playing IB since the first couple. Got 1 complete armor set on all 3 characters, all the weapons (at the time) then just stopped.
