What is the meaning of life? What happens after we die? And more recently, If a Minecraft world is infinite, how does the sun travel around it?
Contrary to popular belief, the Minecraft world is actually infinite, in the sense that a single seed can theoretically generate an infinite world. It’s impossible to travel more than 29,999,994 blocks in any direction (and I don’t think you can set the worldborder any higher), but the world generation doesn’t stop there - you can go to the “edge” of the world and see the world go on far past the border.
It is also known that the Minecraft world is flat, not a sphere or cube. We know this because the gravitational force is constant no matter how high you go, which is true for infinite flat worlds (with thickness) but not with a sphere or cube.
Something else interesting is that no matter how high you go, the sun stays the same size. You’d think that if the sun were a certain distance from the overworld then it would appear bigger as you moved closer. Furthermore, the sun does go down over the horizon without (as far as we know) moving through the overworld.
Therefore, we have reached the conclusion that the sun is infinitely far away from the Minecraft world - so infinitely far away that it goes beyond the infiniteness of the overworld. Though we have a problem - how can an infinitely far object have any apparent size? For instance, if you were to travel further and further away from our sun, it would become smaller and smaller until it eventually disappeared. This is true for any object of finite size, which leads us to the next conclusion - that the Minecraft sun is infinitely large.
To summarize, the Minecraft sun is not a large ball in the sky - it is an infinitely large mass an infinite distance away from the overworld.

Actually it’s not infinite, just really big. It has a set size but is flat so you just end up teleporting back to where you started once you get off the world But it’s all an illusion anyway.

Edited by Verdigris: 5/8/2019 10:31:11 PMThere is actually an infinite amount of suns 🌞 and one is destroyed every time it comes in contact with the ground. The same gos for the Minecraft moon 🌚. As soon as one is destroyed the “Mineverse” seeks balance and creates another to take its place and pass across the sky.

God dangit who let no out of his matrix again.

The sun actually travels in a ginormous circular pattern in parallel with the moon above the Minecraft landscape. Think of it like a very slow, 2 bladed ceiling fan above a warehouse floor. What appears to be the sun rising and setting is just the sun returning to a close proximity of your location, and it then leaving that vicinity again. Minecraft world is the actual flat Earth that the clinically insane declare exists.

Stay right there

It bends space time so it doesn’t ever actually move. Reality bends around it instead.

Actually the sun just opens up a portal to the nether and chills for a bit to recharge and the moon comes out of an end portal to take it's place. They're constantly trying to catch each other so that they may fulfill the prophecy and end the universe since existence to them is torture.

It's an infinite hollow cylinder with an infinite amount of suns traveling through the center.

I thought they confirmed the Minecraft world was a cube?

Looks like someone hasn't played the space mod

There's an infinite line of suns that are traveling overhead. Also, minecraft world is flat.
