Revelry Orb Generation - Disabled in Raids, Gambit, Gambit Prime, and Comp
Hey all,
We’ve been tracking an issue where [b]Guitar[/b] errors were appearing frequently in Raids, Gambit, and Gambit Prime since the Revelry event went live. Through our investigation, we’ve found that Orb generation off of precision kills, specific to Revelry, are causing these errors.
Effective immediately, we’re disabling precision Orb generation for these activities for the remainder of the event. Additionally, we will be disabling this functionality in Competitive Crucible. While we are unable to disable the effects of Tonic buffs, we have the ability to disable Orb generation which has been a topic of feedback since Revelry went live.
Triumphs and Bounties associated with Revelry orb generation may be completed in Quickplay Crucible playlists, Strikes, Patrols, Black Armory Forges, and the Verdant Forest.

I wanted to complete all the triumphs, but if that means I need to got to struggle in the crucible to make orbs, then I'll choose to quit the hole event.

My issue isn't that it is PvP only. Honestly, you do get used to the quick play style, and it does feel like how Mayhem can be without fast charging supers. I think the issue is that precision kills do not guarantee orbs in PvP. You can go an entire round, get 10 precision kills and get no orbs or only. I think if headshots guaranteed orb drops in PvP only, I dont think this would be much of an issue. Just my thoughts.

I'm pretty sure that mine is disabled all together, I've run the forest 10 times in a row with several headshots and orb generated but my counter is still stuck at 156!

-Not gonna lie, not thrilled about the “fix”, especially since I was sitting at 76 orbs and was dead set on not playing pvp for the next 3weeks Specifically because of “Grenade Parade”. -I do play both pve & pvp (in NO way am I a pvp god(slightly inconsistently above average)), but I decided to see how bad quick play grenade fest was for myself...yes it’s a good amount of super nova nades, Trip nades, swarm nades, the dual Striker lightning nades & of course everyone’s favorite Skip Nades up the yang lol but strangely u get used to it & it’s not as bad as I expected. -I decided to Not be Aggressive, be ultra patient & precise as possible & to also use the grenades to make players make bad decisions. I also broke out the old sniper (on appropriate maps), I haven’t used a sniper in pvp since D1, Jade Rabbit,Hammerhead,bygones, Le Monarque, redrix broadsword & Luna’s were my weapons of choice for precision. Words to the wise/frustrated-stay back, grenades will kill u up close but u literally have a better shot mid range to distance, if u want to take someone’s head off. If they are more concerned w/throwing grenades it’s easier for u to shoot faces ijs. -Long Story not so Short(sorry): Use weapons that work for u. As I stated b4, I was at 76 orbs, solo q’d & played around 3hrs & im currently at 180. It’s possible, even for the avg or below if u don’t mind playing pvp. I recommend going in & see for yourself, I was against it at first because of the forums, tweets & my own thoughts of what to expect but honestly its doable. Goodluck to all the “Completionists”!!

6 RepliesSo basically what your saying, is that people figured out how to complete the triumphs to get the Arbalast from Eva in a few hours or less, and you now have to limit the activities we can do to drag out playtime. You guys really don’t like it when we play the game the way we want do you?

I still believe that Bungie should have just disabled it in raids. I have never once experienced a guitar error in any other activity other than The Last Wish raid. FYI, I know that because I didn't experience the error doesn't mean it didn't happen. But I think the frequency of the guitar errors in any other activity except for Last Wish is being grossly overstated. That being said, I'll still get the triumph done before the end of the event, it's just going to take longer than I wanted it to. I play some PvP but not a lot and this "fix" is just making me play more than I'm accustomed to.

7 RepliesOk I guess I won't be completing that Triumph. On the funny side after a couple of days of PVE players making fun of the fact that Revelry has messed up the crucible I do believe this is what you call Karma.

8 RepliesRelax everyone. The game was crashing In the stated activities. Rather than having matches crash, they disabled the issue. Given the well understood dip in gamer activity, I’m sure they’re working long hours over the weekend to fix the issue. Let’s not be ignorant of the complexity that goes into the backend of this game. Sure, there was a failure in identifying this issue before the release but in the world of software, nothing is ever perfect. Also, the event runs for two more weeks after this next reset. There is plenty of time to finish everything. Have a little patience and a little more understanding.

2 RepliesTURN ON SO WE CAN COMPLETE THE 200 ORBS IN THE FOREST OR BACK IN GAMBIT. stop forcing people into pvp with people using hacks/cheat engines to make their guns shoot faster etc and make it so it can be completed elsewhere.
