Religious people explain this to me please.

If Lucifer/Satan is the bad guy who hates God, why does he punish people who God rejects? Isn’t that counter intuitive?

He doesn’t. Also people reject God, He has offered His gift to them and it is their choice to accept it or not. What Satan attempts to do is convince people to reject God so that God will be with as few people as possible.

So He is not capable of feeling any compassion or sense of allegiance to the souls of the Damned. Also corrupting and degrading what is considered God's Pinnacle creation in the World is an additional act of revenge and defiance. Its only "punishment" from the perspect of Heaven.

          •
If Lucifer/Satan is the bad guy who hates God, why does he punish people who God rejects? Isn’t that counter intuitive?
Satan doesn’t punish anyone. Satan doesn’t rule over hell. Hell is actually the the English translation of Hades and Gehenna. Hades is the underworld, but Gehenna, the lake of fire, is where all those wicked will eventually end up, if I remember correctly. There’s also the abyss where some fallen angels are currently imprisoned that will be released for a time onto the Earth during the End Times. Satan and his demons roam the earth. It is their goal to turn Humans, who are the children of God and made in God’s image, against God. God designed the universe and everything in it to function at its optimum according to the parameters and functions He designed them to be. Satan and all those who oppose God, seek to prove God wrong and try to twist the world and people to their own designs, under their own self-delusion that it’ll be fine, when in reality it just causes more destruction to how things and peoplewere designed by God to function. So basically, sin is the falling short of your potential. Satan, the fallen angels, and the demons are all doomed to end up in Gehenna. Humans, who are all fallen, who reject God’s redemption for them through Jesus Christ, and only Jesus Christ, will, unfortunately and to God’s sadness, be also placed into Gehenna. The fires of Gehenna may be literal, or metaphorical, or both to what they experience. God is so holy, that He is described as an all consuming fire. If there is sin in you, you can’t bear that holiness, like paper to a flame. When you become holy through Jesus, cleansed of sin, perhaps you attain a state that you are not burned, because you are also in a holy state. God only knows and we’ll all find out at the end of all things.

Keep going. The more you question it, the less sense it makes. At the very least, it doesn’t paint the picture of a just or loving god.

            • In original Hebrew mythology, there wasn't one Satan. A satan was a type of angel that was basically a prosecuting attorney against your soul when you died. It told God all your sins and tried to keep you out of heaven. Eventually, it changed into a single being that we call Lucifer or Satan.

            • <Maybe he doesn't punish them and that's merely a lie to deceive people. Maybe Heaven and Hell are great places, just for different people. It's Purgatory that's the real hell.>

There’s a fairly simple thought experiment for this. 1. Does anything ever happen that is not according to god’s will? If the answer is yes, then he is not omnipotent/omniscient. If the answer is no, then that means that god is directly responsible for everything that has ever happened, is happening, and will happen. He did it, and he knew he was going to do it before he did it. Including our capacity for evil, or sin or whatever one wants to call it. He either introduced it, or he created a universe in which it could and did manifest, he knew it would, and he allowed it to do so. Which brings us to another question. 2. Is the capacity for evil, or sin or whatever one wants to call it, necessary in order for us to have free will? If the answer is yes, then what can we hope for in the supposed afterlife that awaits us? Does evil/sin still exist in heaven, or do we just no longer have free will in heaven? If the answer is no, then why did god create or allow evil/sin to manifest in the first place? Critical inquiry into the god idea renders god indifferent at best, if not malevolent, or not all powerful/knowing.

He’s not the one doing the punishing. And God doesn’t hate anyone. Satan is in hell as a result of rebelling against god (that’s kinda what sin is, rebelling against Gods commands but that’s a whole other theological thread). And he doesn’t hate god either.
>Tfw I know more about Christian doctrine then I do my own religion
• What if the bible's satans teaching under the guise of him being God. And Gods ultimate test is to see if you fall for satans lies by not living by your own will which by default is Gods will.
It actually makes more sense. To me atleast.
