6 RepliesIt's dumb. Completely lost me in the first few seconds when Luke's voice said he passed all his knowledge to her and she somehow has a 1000 years of Jedi knowledge. What?! Where? When? Did all that happen when Luke was gulping down alien milk? Shit writing. "Rise of the Skywalkers" I mean really? Does not make any sense. It would have been a better title for episode 4. Kylo is technically a Solo, Luke is dead, so what Skywalker is "rising" ? Leia? I don't think so. Disney set this title for one of 2 reasons. 1. To trick OG Star Wars fans who hated episode 8, to bring back to the fold. 2. They are actually gonna retcon Rey to be a skywalker. Both are stupid. Sorry J.J., that f@cking troll Rian Johnson wrote this trilogy into corner, even you can't get out of. This trilogy sucks. I will be a Star Wars fanboy again, maybe, after this trilogy is over done with. It depends on the direction they take SW after this. Crossing my fingers for the GoT writers to do an Old Republic trilogy.

3 RepliesAnd I'm stuck at a crossroad. I didn't like the last jedi. It was the only Star Wars film that wasn't exciting at all. It was too long, too boring as well as disappointing. I can overlook Rey becoming a jedi in just 72 hours. I can overlook and suspend disbelief as Leia flys through space like Mary Poppins. I could overlook everything if they didn't portray Luke the way they did. He was barely in the damn thing. When they did show him he was sulking almost the entire time. The movie was 3 hours long with only 30 minutes of actual cool moments. The Rose and Finn side story was boring and pointless. Part of me wants to wait till episode 9 comes out in the redbox. But the Star Wars fan in me would still want to go see it in theaters.

I think Palpatine is still dead, just like how I think Luke is "dead". I have a feeling that Palpatine, in death, is behind EVERYTHING. Kylo Ren, the First Order, Snoke and even Rey. Also I have a feeling that the part where Rey moonsaults over Kylo's fighter is some kind of dream or meditation.

Episodes 7 and 8 are my least favorite Star Wars movies, but I liked 8 more than 7. That said, this trailer got me excited. I think this retcon business is ridiculous though. On a side note, has anyone noticed how terrible the lightsaber battles are in the new movies compared to the prequels? Actually, the prequels have the best battles in the whole saga. I think with all the crap we give Lucas for those, we should be thankful for such beautiful battle scenes.

7 RepliesI believe Rey will be a Skywalker, but not how you think. Despite all the hate TLJ gets, a very significant thing happened at the end of it. Luke Skywalker transformed his namesake into mythology when he projected himself across the galaxy as a physical manifestation. He quite literally and figuratively "skywalked" across the cosmos, an act we had not seen any Jedi perform up to that point. I think what we will see is the next evolution of powerful Force users born out of the conflict between the dark side and light side of the Force. The entire Skywalker saga is centrally themed on that balance. Anakin transforming from light to darkness, back to light again. Luke overcoming temptation to strike his father down in anger, refusing to succumb to the darkness. Kylo, another Skywalker following the dark path, yet even he says forget about the Sith and the Jedi, let the past die. And then there's Rey, who went straight to the dark side and confronted it, right in front of Luke when he was teaching her to embrace the Force. I think all these things have set up what will become a new powerful order, Force users who maintain a balance in the Force, and they will be called Skywalkers. Rey will be the first Skywalker, named after the last Jedi whose final living act is sealed into legend. She will take the lessons from the sacred Jedi texts, and she will confront Kylo, who is now completely consumed by the dark, and defeat him by using both sides of the Force.

I thought it was really cool when Kylo told Rey her parents were nobodies. I dont like that all the best jedi and sith need to have Skywalker's blood in them. 9 RepliesTime for JJ to undo all of the previous episodes work and now this whole trilogy is gonna be a cluster. How does Rey have Han's belt? Han exploded on Star Killer base with it. Why is Kylo rebuilding his helmet? That undoes all his character development for the last movie. If Rey ends up being a Skywalker than the entire moral of Episode 8 where you don't have to be a legendary hero to be a good person is thrown away. I get the episode 8 was poorly recieved but redoing everything is guaranteed to ruin this movie too.

I'm really looking forward to the movie! Episode 8 was just okay, but I did enjoy 7. I do think that it should be one director directing an entire trilogy instead of passing it on to a different director with the risk of it screwing up. That way then it has a clearer picture of how the trilogy's story will play out.

This trailer pressed all the right Hype buttons for me. I wanted to like TLJ and would say it could of been a great movie if it wasn't a Star Wars movie since it disregards every thing before it in a way that left nothing in Star Wars universe to look forward to, But this trailer has pulled things back on track so that Star Wars feels like Star Wars again even if it's a Jar Jar Abrams rehash of RotJ. Oh, and I've got a fever and the only cure is more Palpatine!
