Suicide is now the best way to counter Spectral Blades
No joke, my buddy has a 5 year old son who is fascinated by Destiny. He was running crucible the other day, popped his Spectral Blades, and handed the controller to his son. Little dude got 3 kills just mashing away at the buttons. Skill-based pvp, lol? Currently, there exists no counter to Spectral Blades. None.
If you're ahead on points, best option is to just suicide yourself to preserve the win.

Edited by ohmygoshduh: 4/10/2019 1:21:35 PMJust skip the Crucible until they fix it. In trying to get enough kills in the Crucible to get the Thorn, I just gave up when a Spectral Blades was coming. There wasn't any use in trying. No matter what you do, you get killed. If I had started the Thorn quest on the Hunter, then it would have been wonderful. Unfortunately, that was not the case. So, unless you are trying to finish a quest, then avoid the Crucible. If you are, when you see a team of Spectral Blades coming, then go to the bathroom, get something to eat, fold clothes, kiss your girlfriend, or.............................

3 RepliesNo counter? Do you know how many spectral aids I kill with blade barrage every session? ... uh yeah, basically all of them. I hate spectral aids as much as the next guy, but to say there is no counter? How about nova bomb? How about blade barrage? How about tether? How about superman titan? Any of these will 1-shot stomp a spectral. There are plenty of counters, but no one seems to want to use them, because they are busy using cancerous roaming supers themselves. So if you don't want to run a shut-down super, and would rather run a kill-farm super like everyone else... you're going to get blitzed by the same all the time.

While its obvious that spectral needs a nerf, there is nothing more satisfying in pvp for me right now then to pop my big ass flaming hammer and turn an r1 spamming spectral hunter into ash!

25 RepliesIt's funny how they nerfed nova warp in an instant when spectral blades was still a thing. Nova warp now takes 2-3 fully charged shots to kill any super but they want to actually play test spectral to make sure they don't overdue it? Where was that when they nerfed literally anything else in the game. The current version of thorn is an even more nerfed version of yr3 thorn. It's sad

Do not fret.. bottom tree arc strider is a better option now as far as being a bullet/super sponge. 😂🤔 Seriously, they are looking into it. It will be adjusted. Their issue is how. Damage resistance can be adjust about 5% to put it in line with all other supers... but that will not fix the super. I feel that the super should be a pulse that highlights foes where they are at the time a player uses the heavy swing to go invisible. Not a constant wall hack. This would bring skill into the super and lessen its deadliness. Being off radar AND seeing through walls with a 70% damage resistance boost is just too much. *we all know it.

An invisible spectral blade still has a shield after a box breathing sniper crit (rapid fire) and a chaperone crit wont even finish them off. This combo kills ALL other supers and it should kill spectral as well. Dmg resistance should be equal between all supers and the bonus dmg resistance while invisible needs to be REMOVED.

That's what I do - find the nearest ledge n jump off (or walk off map) - tell my teammates to do the same - winning or losing

Ummmm I can think of quite a few counters. A suppressor grenade for example is a great counter.

1 ReplySpectral Blades needs to have it armor reduced, also it's supposed to be a stealth super and yet all I see is the light attack being spammed or them being able to run directly towards you while tanking a ridiculous amount of damage. Thanks to the way the light attack works, it's similar to watching a player spam Chun-Li's lighting kick in Street Fighter.

You asking for a game with magic abilities to be skill based. We obviously cannot have completely broken but not balanced perfectly either. Heavy is s great counter to spectral. If you have enough distance then team shooting as well. I’ve shut down spectral with Redrix one time. Obviously with perk active. But it does need to have lower armor than it currently does and drain a little faster than it currently does while they are invis. I think that would help to balance it out. -

Jumping off the map avoids all roaming supers. Until Bungie puts in a penalty it's going to keep happening. They already acknowledged there is a problem with spectral.
