Suicide is now the best way to counter Spectral Blades
No joke, my buddy has a 5 year old son who is fascinated by Destiny. He was running crucible the other day, popped his Spectral Blades, and handed the controller to his son. Little dude got 3 kills just mashing away at the buttons. Skill-based pvp, lol? Currently, there exists no counter to Spectral Blades. None.
If you're ahead on points, best option is to just suicide yourself to preserve the win.

I saw a man earlier get killed by the Warlock’s nova warp melee, yeah the melee that pushes you, dumb little Hunter got launched and smacked into a wall and died mid Spectral blades lol

1 ReplyMy best counter to spectral blades is the Lord of wolves shotgun paired with my attunement of grace warlock paired with the sanguine alchemy . pop an empowering rift, see through walls including invisible spectral blades thanks to sanguine alchemy, stand your ground and 2-3 burst the spectral blades into oblivion. This is my counter to all close range roaming supers. Hope people try it out because it's extremely satisfying. ✌

I genuinely have no respect for people that jump off the map in order to not die from a super. If you have at least a sliver of skill then you should at least try to kill the super. You should try it, its not that hard

I think the main point is that a suicide costs the team nothing and the opponent gets no points. Seen a team today completely wipe to avoid getting killed and opponents getting points. The score was close and we had two zones with 30s left in competitive mode.

Thundercrash shuts things down pretty quickly. I run it in crucible because I love to just mess with people running roaming supers.

7 RepliesYes spectral is pretty op. But the one thing many of you don't admit is that you don't even bother to team shoot the spectral down. You just run. They can die easily if your team shoot them down.

It was very funny how Nova warp got completely destroyed overnight, no suggestions taken or given. Just splat, sht all over the carpet, drapes and ceiling. Meanwhile at the front of the bus, Hunters' completely overblown super got a paragraph along the lines of "We have seen done data, it seems Spectral is just a tiny bit strong (but likely due to crybaby Warlock and Titans bias). We are going to be extreeemeeely careful about how we touch spectral blades, as we collect more data about it."

There are definitely counters. They are just impractical and usually not worth the risk. Nova is probably the best, but a good SBer will be able to zip zip zip zip right out of the way and leap 500 meters into the air to kill you after you miss.

I play hunter and even i'll admit Spectral Blades is broken.

5 RepliesLucky and Buttwipe (LAB) recently did a video where they would go up by a kill then repeatedly suicide until time ran out to win the game. They did it to show how broken it is and Bungie is 100% aware of the issue but not a single -blam!- is given.

31 RepliesI get killed in my spectral blades all the time. It's so weak and needs a buff to compete with all the op titan and warlock supers. I am a hunter main with three hunters, which are the weakest class and take the most skill to use. I don't have a warlock of titan because I could never bring myself to use something so op. Please buff hunters. [spoiler]Just kidding, I typically get 3-6 kills with my spectral blades and the amount of supers I have shut down with it is insane. People who say it's fine are just people that don't want their crutch nerfed. [/spoiler]

Most supers dont take skill to use in crucible due to 70% damage resistance... they made supers casual friendly and this is the end result. GG bungie.
