1 upvote and I will plant a peach tree in my yard. Edit: it is with heavy heart I must announce...
I want millions of peaches, peaches for me. I may even put some in a can.
But seriously I am thinking about planting one... But if I do, the -blam!-ing bears will probably just eat em all.
[b]Edit: I must announce that sadly peach trees will not grow where I live. This came as a heavy blow to my soul, especially since Costco even has the audacity to sell young peach trees. Not only feeling slighted by Costco, I now know that peaches will never grace the humble bounds of my northern domicile[/b].
Perhaps I'll plant an apple or pear tree instead...

Found out I can grow peaches where I live, surprisingly.

3 RepliesWe had a lot of trouble with bears and deer eating the apples from the trees at our cabin, I imagine peaches would be no different haha. We tried 7' deer fence around our orchard but the bears would either push their way through or the deer would jump. We eventually gave up and now the trees are just there and whatever they produce the animals get.

Put it in a planter and then brimg it inside during the offseason if it's a temperature thing. Problem solved.

1 ReplyWhat geographical area do you live in which peaches will not grow? Perhaps the secret to growing it would be to graft it on to an Arctic root ball. That’s what we do up here in Canada. Makes all kinds of trees grow where they shouldn’t.
