For the love of all that is good in the world, if you are doing any activity that requires comms, pick another time to enjoy a snack. Nobody wants to hear you crunching on chips or eating chicken or slamming a tall boy. Either mute yourself, or leave until you finish eating. If you know it's annoying and still do it that's a kick off tops. Sorry not sorry.

Edited by King: 4/8/2019 6:59:53 PMSeriously, I can’t stand hearing people gulp followed by that dumb “ahh” sound. We get it, you sound fat.

I felt this to the core.

46 RepliesEdited by JDTurkelton: 4/8/2019 4:16:54 PMA full list of mic etiquette: 1. Don’t eat if you aren’t muted. 2. Don’t breathe into the mic. 3. Don’t have it down by your throat to where we can hear you drinking. 4. Of your dog is barking, mute yourself. 5. Don’t take your mic with you when you go to the restroom. 6. Don’t fight with or yell at your significant other, children, or parents while on the mic. 7. While you are in a team activity, don’t ramble on about work or school unless the whole team are friends and are fine with it. 8. Don’t sing. I’m looking at those squeakers that will just break out in some random made up song about the gun they just got. 9. No non-stop chatter. Looking at those kiddos again that seem to lack an internal voice. Learn how not to spout out every thought that passes through your head. Edit: adding some from suggestions below 10. Don't play music in the background. I love to listen to some hard rock while I play crucible sometimes. When I do, I'm definitely showing offline and not joining any parties. 11. Don't hit your bong unless you are on mute. We aren't surprised since you had to put 420 / Blazing / Baked / Stoned / Kush / etc in your gamertag, but we don't need to hear it. 12. Don't Vape unless your mic is muted. We appreciate you being a part of the alpha test group on the potential long term effects of vaping, but again, we don't need to hear it.

I usually take my controller with my headset on to use the bathroom 🚽

Right there with you. Eating noises are my biggest pet peeve in the world. I've ended relationships because of how ppl eat, lmao. But it all comes down to 2 types of ppl, ones who are considerate and mindful as to how they're affecting ppl around them, and those who don't give a damn how they negatively affect anyone. We see them every day in the world, especially on the highways.

8 RepliesNot backing them and saying what they're doing is socially acceptable, but your post on the forums isn't going to do squat about it. There's a mute option in game for a reason.
-
I eat all the time and nobody cares, but what really gets my buddies is when I forget which side I've got the mic on and I cover my sneeze with the mic. Apparently it's really loud.

For the love of all that is good in the world, if you are doing any activity that requires comms, pick another time to enjoy a snack.
I would like to add on to this Singing / Humming. My god, that is SO annoying and inconsiderate AF! What on earth makes someone think the party wants to listen to them singing or humming? I figure, if they are going to be rude enough to do it then I'm going to be rude enough to SHUT THAT SHIT DOWN immediately. Hitting the bong is another one. Kids think they are so cool and want everyone to know it so they hit the bong right into the mic.... and then I confront immediately and belittle the crap out of them for being such a douchebag poser. I have no problem forcefully shutting down any of that annoying mic shit and I'm almost never nice about it. They get one chance to fix it and if they don't... BOOT! Annoying mic behavior is probably my #1 peeve in on-line gaming.

3 RepliesEdited by Krantzstone: 4/8/2019 4:05:12 PM
"Misophonia, literally "hatred of sound", was proposed in 2000 as a condition in which negative emotions, thoughts, and physical reactions are triggered by specific sounds. Misophonia is not classified as an auditory or psychiatric condition, and so is different from phonophobia (fear of sound); there are no standard diagnostic criteria, and there is little research on how common it is or the treatment. Proponents suggest misophonia can adversely affect the ability to achieve life goals and to enjoy social situations. As of 2018 there were no evidence-based methods to manage the condition. Management generally consists of helping the person develop coping strategies; cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure therapy have also been used.[3]"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misophonia

We've had peeps take a piss & dump while the mic is live, we've had peeps start snoring, we've had live sexual encounters, pretty much everything. I can't stand crude, rude peeps that do nothing but constantly yap and give everyone directions.

Or pass gas. Tired of hearing people fart & burp

11 RepliesThis guy !!!!!! Just for this post I am taking suggestions for the loudest crunchiest snax I can get ! I’m already practicing to eat everything with my mouth as open as it can get !!!!! And there’s the mute option you cry sack !!!
-
9 RepliesOk. *blasts music in the background*
-
7 RepliesWhy didn't you just say this to the person in the chat instead of coming to cry on an internet forum?
-
Not the worst. Had a guy bring his controller into the bathroom and forgot to mute before during a raid. One of the most uncomfortable things that has happened to me in video games.
-
Also, to all the stoners out there that can't control their cough after a bong rip: mute your effing mic.
-
Did you get a rampage AP rounds service revolver? With rapid hit? No I did. Karma agrees with munchy madness. Sorry offended ophelia.
-
Sorry I didn’t hear you over the sound of my Xurios

For me, when someone is drinking in the mic is fine but eating it gets annoying sometimes, man I take a sip drink water if my throat feels dry

3 RepliesHow much of a fat, greedy, glutton does one have to be to sit around and eat while playing video games? 'Murica

3 Repliesi chew ice to annoy my friends

4 RepliesIt is definitely rude, however, so is telling others what to do or not do based on your own personal dislikes. Fortunately, you don't make those decisions.

Or at least mute it when eating. That’s what I do any I don’t think anyone has noticed my slurping of icecream
