For the love of all that is good in the world, if you are doing any activity that requires comms, pick another time to enjoy a snack. Nobody wants to hear you crunching on chips or eating chicken or slamming a tall boy. Either mute yourself, or leave until you finish eating. If you know it's annoying and still do it that's a kick off tops. Sorry not sorry.

I'm gonna continue to crush cheap beer and go on drunken tyrades and theres nothing you can do to stop me.

54 RepliesYeah, I usually mute when I’m eating.

2 RepliesI pee with my mic on

4 RepliesEdited by ClothingOptionaI: 4/9/2019 2:41:45 AMI'm also not trying to hear bongs, pipes, drug use in general, vaping, people in the background, fans, music, etc, etc. Most importantly: if your smoke detector battery is going out, either replace it or unplug it during play. Seriously, that beep is one of the most annoying things ever. *edit* I can't forget about the mouth breathers and people that store their mic between their tongue and molars. Thankfully if i'm on my PC instead of PS4, most people i've encountered just use the push to talk.

Yeah, its pretty bad when i can tell the difference of when a person is eating chips or when they are eating cheetohs. A person shouldnt know that.
-
This is literally basic courtesy and I don't get why people don't do it.

1 ReplyIf you don't like it. Leave. Whine much 😂

As terrible that everything you described is, what gets on my nerves the most is when someone is opening a bag of chips right in front of the mic and seeming to have a hard time opening it. You think they'd mute themselves for the whole minute or two they try opening it? Nope. But my ears are bleeding from all the noise, that's for sure. Almost broke my headset when I had to listen to this because i ripped them off my head so fast.

1 ReplyTrue, so true. In D1, we'd raid with a married couple and we started calling the dude the Cookie Monster. Wife always baked cookies during the raid (yep, we had to put King's Fall on hold when the oven dinged). Then it was all "nomnomnomnom" on top of me saying"I've got gaze."

1 ReplyYOU BEST NOT BE EATING WHILE WE ARE SWEATING IN THE CRUCIBLE, BOY!

Chips crunching in the background is kind of a national anthem for gaming 🙂 Our raid team had a guy leave....straight up cold...I mean suddenly out of the blue....during Kings Fall raid for a tea break. It was funny...mics went silent for a min when he (a younger English raider) told us his mom called for a tea break and you could hear his headset hit the table...then folks (mostly Americans...myself included) were sincerely like...”uh, wait, he just say and do that?”....then the Australian gent on our team said something like “that’s right mate”. We waited patiently for him to return (had some good hearted laughs) and finished the raid. I’ll never forget that moment! It reminded me of how proud I am to be a gamer and how cool it is to come together from around the world to game! Gaming transcends differences like nothing else....a great community!

3 RepliesBut how else will I achieve maximum sweat status if I'm not eating three bags of doritos while chugging 5 two liter bottles of mountain dew in the middle of a comp match?
-
11 RepliesNo one wants to hear your horrible taste in music either. Or random guy who joins (playing a different game) talking about a raid from the other day with the fire team leader. OR, obnoxious group of pals calling each other names and thinking its way too hilarious to keep wiping at Shuro Chi, despite putting “kwtd quick run” in the lfg post.

Getting a squeaker with their mum vaccuming in the background is worse

Edited by Geofront Dragon: 4/9/2019 8:12:18 AMOne of my close friends drinks loudly in the mic on purpose. I'm not a violent person, but he makes me want to do bad things when he does that. For example, jamming a fork in a toaster in the hopes it will lower my electric bill.

4 RepliesI swear I can almost tell what snacks you're eating over the mic. Too much experience as one of my bestfriend is a bottomless pit of food.

3 RepliesAllow me to play you the song of my people *Chips crunching*

13 Repliesyou do realize you'll gain more success saying these things to the people you are having issue with right? no probably not, that's why you are here.

1 ReplyIt shows improper or simply absent upbringing in a civilized society, a complete lack of being mindful of one's self, respect for others, an utter personal void in manners and all other items that distinguish the human from the animal. There are a LOT of animals in the US right now. Beatings should absolutely commence. And keep the beatings coming... support the public canings of these animals.

This forum is comedy gold. I'm so used to hearing background music, vaping/drug use, and a whole bunch of shit on the mic, but I always welcome the crunch of chips and personally enjoy snacking while I game. If I'm eating chips I'll mute my mic until I need to speak or finish, although everything else is free game.

What about urination? Because the little kid in me still finds it funny when I walk to the toilet, say, "Guess what," and let rip.

3 RepliesMute button goes both ways🤔🤔

A simple "Can you mute your mic whilst eating" through comms would stop 99% of them or don't you own a mic or fingers??
-
Edited by Raevenent: 4/9/2019 8:14:03 AMI don't have a problem with people eating or drinking while their mic is unmuted, but if the sound is loud enough to overshadow everyone else, turn your mic off until you're done eating or drinking what it is you're eating or drinking. EDIT: Sorry for the double post, had a brain fart and meant to edit my other post.

I always mute when I'm eating. When someone asks me why I've been muted I always ask "You want to hear me crunching on chips?"
