We have a lot of useless armor now with no updated rolls. We have a collections tab that WON’T let you pull a random roll. If you aren’t going to update the old armor and the old eververse stuff is never coming back then here’s my suggestion:
Let us have an ornament slot on every piece of armor. If you feel that will take away from the grind then let us work for add ons that can be used to add an ornament slot. Then take any armor from the collections tab that you have unlocked and make it available as an ornament.
You would hover over the ornament slot and it would show all the armor pieces available (like when shaders are being chosen). Then, at a cost per transmog, you could pick the armor piece you want as an ornament.
If anyone is interested at all in Transmogrification or changing your appearance without changing stats then please support this. Hopefully it will get some traction.
Edit 1: so far it seems like something the community might find reasonable. I know it’s just a slice of the population out there so far but not everyone will see the post either. I appreciate all the positive feedback and I hope that Bungie might take notice and give this a solid consideration.

Whoa! Who do you think you are!? Suggesting good ideas on this forum? Come on, we only accepts stupid ideas, like not adding a duplicate protection to exotics.
-
Have an upvote, would love this idea.

Absolutely they should allow you to transfer over perks, I love the dawning armor, would love to wear it always but the Y1 version has no perks and the Y2 version came with meh ones, it's pretty ridiculous I have to make my character look like a stitch up doll just because the perks on it match what I need. I would go a step further and say you should be able to combine certain weapon/armor perks like if I had 2 service revolvers one with rapid hit/kill clip and the other with accurized rounds I could combine them or for armor something like sniper scavenger on one piece and hand cannon loader on another to combine but we all know bungie probably isnt capable of that much

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 3/31/2019 4:55:13 PMEven though a lot of gamers over the years have given a lot of good ideas, suggestions or whatever to Bungie. They don't listen or care enough to add simple things to the game to improve the lifestyle. I mean, it took them almost 5 year people just to add to where Hunters can see their entire cloak. How many years has the player base asked for one of the simplest things to add to the game like being able to customize your Guardians looks, like when starting a new Guardian and you don't like how it looks later on but it's set in stone. It would be nice to have the option being able to just change the face or the color you've set it at when you started one?

1 Replyhave AN UPVOTE. also, i don't give a shit about emotes. if we could get Loadouts in Game L1 - L4 assigned to the D Pad or whatever button there is on Console, that would be great. Change your shit on the Fly - Loadout can have Max 8 Slots Minimum 3. - Would be great for those of us who have armor sets that sync perfectly to the weapons we use etc

But that's FUN.Bungie Hates Fun.........

1 ReplyBungie are just plain incompetent at this point, you may be better off directing your feedback towards someone like, Unknown-player or Datto or the likes. Maybe just slip in a D2 feedback request amongst the video replies for example ;)

Like Raid ornaments from old Raids in D1 adding value to endgame content you weren't needing anymore? Or did I leap to the wrong direction on the narritive?
-
Bungie's resistant to transmog because they want people to recognize players by what they like to do. To them, form is part of function. No matter how much people want it, I think Bungie must feel it violates that sensibility. I expect that if Bungie would do this, it would be an expensive or time consuming process tied to end-game activity to transmog your armor by choosing the appearance of something in your Collections. This would make a transmogger an achievement itself. Perhaps not the best solution, but one I think is more becoming of Bungie.

Edited by frompa: 3/31/2019 10:33:26 AMEvery year 2 and going forward piece of armor should have an ornament slot. Available ornaments should be every year 1 piece of that same type you have unlocked in your collections

I really like this idea. Great suggestion!
-
Instead of an ornament, we get a full new row for armor, labeled vanity. Whatever armor is in there, will show on your character. Exotics can be placed freely in here, as they have no effect. If you remove an item from the vanity slot, the corresponding normal armor will appear. Therefore, if you get ugly armor with good perks or vice versa you aren't stuck in a bad position.
-
Glass needles kind of mechanic, you get random rolls and legendaries can be rolled, even year one stuff.
-
This is pretty outstanding. Having the option to clone a piece of gear as a ornament takes advantage of the already in place systems. It feels like it would be so natural to implement. If anything, Bungie should try this method by the end of D2 just to see if it would work for D3.
-
Just use R3 (PS4) to Mark the Item as Vanity. You can then have 5 Vanity items showing. (All armor, no Weapons) Thus making it possible to wear 4 Exotics. And listen, IDC if "It makes PvP harder by doing that cause now I can't inspect them" Either deal with it, Or if this is the route, Have Vanity items disabled in PvP.

This is a great solution to me looking fugly because of all the good rolls ending up on the worst visually boring gear.

1 ReplyI support this 100%

3 RepliesYes, please.

1 ReplyThat's some good feedback.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/251388570/0/0 as an extension of this whole system. There is a lot of good conversation on these posts, and it would be something reasonable for like an age of triumph d2 timeframe

1 ReplyThey're probably gonna do it for y3. They never do big game changing things out if the blue. They always wait for the next MAJOR DLC to add stuff into the game as a way to convince people to buy stuff. They don't listen to the community unless they can put DLC behind doing so.
-
D2 Y3 will probably implement many of these suggestions. They revamped D1 gear for D1 Y3 and I imagine we'll see some of the same in the Fall. Why do it now when you can do it later and charge for it. Supply and demand.
-
And they should do the same with gambit prime's gears. Why have 4 different separate class-type + 3 different levels? That takes up too much space. It should be like the old IB from D2 y1 with ornament-like slot and you can change class-type much like how you can change your gun's multiple perks. How hard can that be? Then add Enhancement cores or something to change the level after you complete each type of Reckoning and obtaining the next level up something like during the Festival of the Lost masks we had last year.
-
We been begging for this about as long as we been asking for horde mode :) hopefully one day Bungie will support fun content
