Nice to hear someone have something nice to say about the game, but I'm afraid that you're whistling past the graveyard with regards to the state of the game. (You have a right to enjoy the game as it is....but there are big problems with respect to its ability to be enjoyed by the community as a whole). My take is that the CONTENT-CREATORS at Bungie have the game back in a good place. They are giving us interesting things to do. The sandbox feels good again. The power-fantasy is back. The story and lore are going to interesting place. I loved the fact that I was caught completely by suprise when the Emissary of the Nine showed up on the Derelict and that his "Haul" was actually a gift from The Nine. The Reckoning Tier 2 and 3 are a bit of a misfire...(Shit happens, no one's perfect). But there are SERIOUS problems with the RPG systems in this game. Severe problems that are undermining the efforts of the content creators...and making game play frustrating at best....infuriating at worst. The Progression sytem is an RNG-soaked mess that Bungie refuses to fix. You have in-game titles where RNG is a major factor in whether you earn them. (I'm currently on the verge of both Wayfarer and Dredgen....and the only thing I need are low-percentage drop from Nightfalls and Gambit. I refuse to even try for them because I know Bungie plays around with those drop rates). ...and then there are "enhancement cores". We'll have to see what Bungie has to say about them in today's "TWAB". But they are the single most ABUSIVE RPG game mechanic I've ever seen added to a loot-game in 20 years. They are basically WEAPONIZED randomness that serves no purpose in the game other than to try to artificially slow progression.....frustrate player choice....and turn the game from an end-game loot chase....to a perpetual mid-game item level grind. Bungie's Investment Team stubbornly refuses to fix any of these major in-game problems that have turned playing this game into a rigid, joyless, and unrewarding experience. One whose defining traits are anger and frustration. The refuse to fix them despite six months to a year of non-stop----and almost unanimous----player complaints. The game is NOT in a good spot right now. But it could very easily be in one if someone finally reins in the Investment Team...and holds them accountable for these broken game systems that are hobbling the game.

Wow so much negativity towards one persons opinion. I’m pretty sure I stated this was my view and not yours but thanks for the lovely feedback. Interesting how so many forum users are poison yet pretty much everyone I meet in game are decent people.

Nope. As someone who has forgotten more than you will ever know regarding this franchise I respectfully say BS! Game is nowhere near as fun to play given the lack of improvement since the Forsaken QoL changes. As a result the game has pretty much lost 80% of the player base. You’re in that final 20%. It’s great that you’re enjoying the mindless grind in a shallow loot pool surrounded by stingy RNG. You’re a real hero and a testament to this franchise.

So much to do sure, but it feels so unrewarding to go through 7 GAMES OF GAMBIT, 3 boring strikes, 3 boring missions, and 5 crucible matches (which aren’t that bad). The only reason I feel like actually getting on this season is to do raids once a week. And to level up to do the next actual endgame content in June

Glad you and maybe some others are enjoying it, but no vendor updates in forever, no factions, a more linear “play it our way” game than it use to be, and a regular loot pool that is stale and in dire need of change have not put it in a good place with me.

i agree destiny is a good place. the only thing is that they have done nothing for the pvp community. im not asking for a lot. i understand this season is all about gambit prime and im cool with that. its not for me but i know others enjoy it. but why can't we get a new crucible armor set? why not put a crucible armor set in comp that can roll enhanced perks? just give the pvp community a bone to show you still acknowledge our existence.
