Stop telling us not to infuse in the forum
If you are one of the jack wagons out there saying "derp just don't infuse until you reach max light derp" you are just not getting it.
That isn't a solution or a fun way to play. It is the equivalent of shrugging at a stupid idea and saying "oh well what can ya do?"
Also, just as dumb is the "infusion cores are easy to get"
No, they aren't. Getting cores on a regular basis is multi-step torture:
Do dumb activities on a lonely planet for ghosts.
Get a dumb bounty and sit on a planet doing nothing but watching for an HVT to pop up.
Hope to get a shot at at it.
The bounties should be obtainable with planetary materials or glimmer. And the bounties should be in game activities or events.

Cores need to be removed from infusion. This time around I am not infusing anything unless I absolutely need to. I am going to just either toss the NEW higher light stuff in my vault and keep using the lower light stuff that I have masterworked or if I need the light for something like reckoning I will just equip all the crappy gear except the exotics I want to use.

Power levels are whack and should not exist at all, therefore infusion should not be a thing.

Need more shorter activities to get cores. Those scrapper bounties? They should give 3 ever time. Thar would be a good start...

Not worth grinding 30 minutes of Fragments to just sit for another hour to kill a Public HVT that has no guarantee in spawning. And the whole "Dont infuse until max light" not being a solution, what? It works right? If you want to spend your cores then by all means. Im infusing every 5+ light for legendary gear and 10+ for exotics and Ive been steadily holding at 130 cores since the start of the week. Granted Im only focusing on 1 character but the cost reduction in the long term is well worth it. Bonus points if its a main you enjoy playing. This is the situation the we are currently in and we're stuck with it as mentioned by Bungie for a while. Preach for the change for it to be removed, but I believe it will make little difference because Bungie might just toss in gunsmith materials as a change. And it'll probably be a stupid inflated cost on top of everything else they're used for. But the main thing is moderation, I believe people should have to moderate their resources when you have the availability to bring gear forward. Do I like "Enhancement Cores" for infusion? No, but I've figured out a way to moderate it without making it a pain in the ass. Play how you want but all I ask is to just try and recognize the problem and try to remedy it or avoid it rather than taking it full force. Far less stressful.

We all are feeling the pain and artificial grind. This unnecessary slowing of our leveling or progression is / was an a$$ hat move by Bungie at the expense of our enjoyment of the game to make up for the lack of content or the lack of quality content they knew was coming, what we have seen lately Others making the core recommendations of not to infuse was only due to what state infusion has become right now instituted by the a$$ hats. Personally, I almost always only infuse like items so it cost just glimmer. This has its own frustrations due to the broken rng drops , never what you hope for but 10 in a row of the same item of what you don’t want. It might be time to find another game to play which hopefully will send Bungie a message they went to far. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/251250216/0/0 ....and if the amount of play time by all of us which has been going down greatly the last few months does not get their attention then the next thing we can do is hold on to our wallets on the next pre-release or annual pass not buying them for a few months.

Well bungie arent changing it so people are offering there opinions and ways to help. If you don't want to to do it then that's fine but realistically it's not a huge deal, easy enough to get them.

46 RepliesI started my weekend with 100 cores and now I have 162 - buy 2 from spider EVERY DAY - complete scrapper bounties immediately so that they pop up again soon - use planetary mats often to buy packages My light is 662 but you'd never know it because I still wear only my 650 gear. You dont need to be higher than 650 for anything but the reckoning so what's the point?. I just make sure to keep the highest item for each slot locked so I dont accidentally delete it. Due to all the above I dont waste any cores and my character doesnt have to look dumb as I'm still using my preferred armour . Any more problems?

don’t infuse until you’re at max light unless it’s weapons or exotic armor that is very necessary for activities that will help you get a higher power level. it’s a waste of enhancement cores, planetary materials, glimmer, and legendary shards. i also has enhancement core problems when foresaken first launched because i didn’t play a lot during the boring dry casualized first year of this game so here’s what i did: buy 3 from spider a day complete scrapper bounties (they always give an enhancement core and half the time i complete them without even knowing i have them) you will probably get at least 1 a day from dismantling stuff i usually get at least one curated weapon drop on a raid completion or curated rolls can also drop from dreaming city activities and they dismantle for 7 cores. so by the time you hit 700 you should have more than enough saved up in your inventory to get all your important gear to 700 and then if you still actually play the game even though you’re max power you can start saving up to have a lot extra saved up so it will never be a problem. every time bungie tries to make the game harder and gear more important everybody complains, and than they complain again that there is nothing to do. just play the game on a regular basis, and if you don’t want to play the game on a regular basis don’t ruin it for people that do. also please never say the word “derp” again holy shit.

Leave infusement cores as is but make them an end game reward such as doing raid and each encounter you get maybe one or two cores and final boss you get maybe five cores for defeat after you open the cheat or make them nightfall rewards that can be farmed (aka grinding) so they can be more prominent in the world. Then make masterwork cores a thing again make a whole new crystal desgin and put them in place of the hard to get infusement and allow xur to sell them per weekends for an X amount of legendary shards and planetary materials. Nobody wanted this idea. No one wanted this solution to the problem. So I have stopped trying. I will be ridiculed for even answering this post with this idea. I'll be called a stupid kid even though I'm 24 years old. I'll be told I'm a dumbass or some form of the word. I'll be trolled. And theres not a damn thing I can do to fight it other than not even try much like how many people shouldn't play any PvP because of X reasons. So good luck with your blight. I say let the game die under the weight of people who won't accept compromise or fairness.

No ones fault but your own if you don’t have any. I don’t play as regular as I used to and i have 300+ all characters at 650 and all weapons I use are 650.

Then you're at fault yourself for having no cores if you just keep stupidly infusing. Simple as that. Just wear the higher level gear for a few weeks then when you near max, start infusing. Weapons or exotica are usually a good exception, but not every armor piece

the more likely dumb one is those like yourself. idiots who can't use but one set of weapons and armor or their "experience" is ruined. how stupidly mind numbing your game time must feel. resources of all sorts including cores are very easy to get, if you don't have them it's a personal issue. week one there's absolutely zero reason for you crybabies to be infusing anyhow. braindead fools wasting resources for one level gain that does not make aany difference in your gameplay at all. your 650 gear will get you through every single activity open aside T2 Reckoning which the likes of you would never be ready for anyhow at this point in time. think people. stop being crybaby thoughtless fools and think. it's far easier than the foolish posts here are portraying.

I disagree, because power level isnt important at all in this game, except for unlocking the reckoning mode. The thing I do is only keep the gear with the highest power and dismantle anything new I get with a lower power, except for Godrolls obviously. I start infusing as soon as I get close to 670 so I can play the new mode. This game is not like borderlands, in which your weapon level affects the damage output, so there is no real need to be max light at all times.

Likewise, telling those people not to tell you the obvious answer is the equivalent of you walking across a busy road with a blindfold on, and then whining when people tell you not to do that. The fact that you WANT to walk across that road with a blindfold on doesn't make it the right thing to do. So, stop infusing leveling gear and you will derp less. P.s. Disagreeing with the constant whining over circumstances created by the user themselves is not the same as supporting the existance of cores. You do nothing for your argument by ranting at your opposition and insulting them.

To have the things you want, you need to do stuff. If you want more if the things you want, you have to do more stuff. Cores as they are aren’t the issue, giving us interesting stuff to do to earn them is. Just giving us interesting stuff to do seems to be the entire problem with the game at the moment.
