What has happened to the superb Destiny?

I hate the new Drifter crap, I hated the forge crap. The top 10% of players probably love it, but as a weekend only player, I don't have enough time to spend to move my player from 500 to 600. Now they have boosted me to 640 and left me with some horrible "reckoning" thing that is like playing on Orange maps and all you do is shoot stupid taken as fast as you can and it can't be done enough to reach 100%. I still have no guns from the forge and I hate the reckoning and 640 still doesn't allow you to win against the reckoning. Where are the good stories with adventures to do? Where is the good loot? Why do I have to spend hours gathering the stuff I need to upgrade one item? Why does Bungie say "get this gun" and when you do after 14 hours of work, it is a worthless pile of shit. When Cayde died, I believe the whole Destiny game when to hell. Thank God that Division 2 comes this week and I will have something to do on the weekends besides chase unattainable goals and look at crappy Orange maps.

  • The last year of D1 was a lil meh, then came D2 with it's high expectations, sadly it's worse than D1 was at its lowest point.

  • I am a weekend only player too, who has not only sports, a ACT Tutor, and a job on Sunday, and I was able to grind to 650 before the bounties. DA -blam!-, IS YOUR EXCUSE?

  • So is saying you’re going to Division 2 the new “thank god anthem is coming” or “Anthem will kill this game” type thing now?

    • No, its further back. Joe Staten's Destiny, so far back that there's absolutely no chance of it surfacing. Its just sad that D2 basically went through the same motions as D1, and it's a fair assessment that it isn't even square one to D1Y3.

    • I do believe the only time Destiny ever hit close to a 'superb' status was the state where D1 ended.

      • Only thing that has ever been superb in Destiny is the gun play and mobility.

        • In my opinion the awesome progress they made with Forsaken is still the reality of the game. Forges are fun and provide excellent weapon variety, Drifter I totally understand if you don’t like Gambit but Reckoning is a fun horde mode and there’s so much more that is coming you can’t write this off at

              • If the game isn't enjoyable, then why play? You don't have to get to the power max or play the activities immediately. You can get there when you can get there, it's always available. It should be fun and if it isnt, then why male yourself miserable? Players are used to the traditional dlcs and still don't quite understand the annual pass but I've explained it a million times and won't do it again here. Basically, forsaken is the game for a year, the pass adds endgame content on top of it until the next expansion, so yes, only the players who have reached the high levels are going to be doing those things right now. Eventually, your power will allow you to destroy the reckoning tier 1, and once you get to tier 2, you see its much better the further you get. Strikes, story missions, all that stuff won't be coming until the next expansions, probably around September. Destiny is a long-term grind game and the goals ARE long-term but definitely not obtainable. It feels good to get rewards now and it's hard to play a couple of hours and only make some progress on a quest. But eventually, you will complete that goal, if you want to, and hopefully it will be a fun moment. If you let FOMO get the best of you, you are going to be miserable. Play at your own pace, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But this game is what it is and you can't expect to get everything done in a resolutely couple hours any more. Again, play if it's fun, and don't of its not. Hopefully the division has what you are looking for, but if not, try something else. Just come back to destiny when you want to and dont, when you dont.

I have to say that I think lore cards should be reserved for details and backstory. Not a replacement for an actual story for entire seasons. I would have MUCH preferred traditional story DLCs like they’ve done in the past to what they’re doing now. Average at best, grindy activities that may unlock a lore card. Exotic quests that are mostly just a bunch random tasks where they insert Crucible or Gambit steps. Have to keep those PvP activity participation numbers up! Now we have an entire season that revolves around Gambit. I don’t feel like a Guardian anymore and I feel like they are really trying to lean into a more PvP centric game. Which is unfortunate for this really cool universe and story. It feels squandered.

                • Annual pass content is an extension of the end game, as such features primarily end game game content. You won't find any low tier activities here.

                  • Tier II Reckoning drops fully masterworked Gambit Prime weapons. Pro tip....Always have a Well of Radiance warlock, and a Tether on your team. Tier III looks to be a beast of a horde mode. I'm on PS4 btw. Gamertag same as here. Need to grow the clan for raids. Prefer 20 plus year olds, but can be flexible as long as you don't talk constantly 😀

haha exactly how me and my clan feel. After grinding countless raids and shattered thrones and never getting 1k voices, anarchy, the stupid ugly ship- getting guitarred during Petra's run, 100'S OF WEAPONS FORGED WITHOUT A SINGLE CURATED OR GOD ROLL- now we're suppose to grind 36 sets of armor for a seal. I learned my lesson about rng in this game and how its just a tool for Bungie to make you play countless hours like an idiot. Division 2 is preordered by me and all of the hardcore Destiny players in my clan- See ya Bungie. Good luck with whatever the hell this video game is supposed to be now. Everyone else have fun grinding for all the d1 weapons over again now and in D3. This is wack, dude!

                      • I'm getting my money's worth, but I totally see your point. I think Bungie should make various light levels of the same activities. Higher light with more challenges should yield more loot while lower levels should get less rewards but an easier and more playable experience.

                        • No doubt the game is lacking a lot but it was stated from the beginning that the annual pass content was going to be end game content and not a whole lot of story content (let the hate comments start)

                          • That went away when Bungie decided to make year 1 crucible more than 1 second ttk, long tedious grinds to hit max level combined with a piss poor loot pool, and a clear and evident lack of communication with the community who pays their salaries.

The -blam!-ing map isn't orange, wtf are you even talking about? Its a white sand planet
