Pvp needs more LOVE!

Although the upcoming season seems pretty good, I didn't notice quality of life changes in the crucible. I, like many other, enjoy playing pvp daily(competitive/quickplay). In a way it feels like most of the upcoming content is mostly focus on pve activities. I would like to see more incentives in the comp play list to lure more gurdians to play it. For example, add enhance perks to armor that can be earn by playing in comp. Maybe, add bounties that increase your glory points and also have a chance to give you gear. This can also help those lone wolves that adventure in comp. It may give them a chance to still earn some points. When facing teams of four. I know there are a lot more things that need improvement but, these are some of few I can think from the top of my head. Thank you for bring in us this great game . Don't forget about the crucible guys. Lastly, I want to thank CammyCakes, without his videos I don't think I would have gave any feed back on this subject.

  • Apparently a lot of people thought that pvp already received a lot of love. Thorn is about to come back and further ruin it, so you have that. If I can get the seasonal content and the pinnacle weapons completed before the end of the season, I will enjoy a very long break from crucible.

  • Agreed PvP is neglected and needs love... better matchmaking is needed ( solo queue players, casual vs try hard stacks, new maps and variants, better repawn points, better rewards, etc.) and would make it a much better experience.

      • Only love I’d show crucible is me taking it outside behind the shed then pulling out a double barrelled shotgun and blowing its head clean off. PvP has ruined the fun of pve countless times and every time I see less than 200k playing it I hope they learn to completely separate it from pve in destiny 3.

        • I think bungie should put in comp bounties for glory points and reduce the loss punishment. Or make it like gambit, don't win - no points gain.

          • Imo, the frustration over comp is spilling over to QP. Even QP now is starting to fill up with sweaty players. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems dueling any gun in this game, but I can see how it can negatively impact other players who are just trying to practice, just want to do their bounties, or try fun load outs. Just the last game I had, I had a new gun drop from Banshee and I saw that it was an autorifle with ridiculous range, the Halfdan. It was my first one so I thought this could be good with Actium. I rocked double Autos and went to Quickplay. My first game was fine, did pretty decently considering I haven't used that gun ever. The next game though. Down 1 player, 5 on 6. And guys over the other team with NF/DR, spectral, the works. I even got farmed by spectral blades a few times because apparently when you die near a roaming super, the game will just think it's a good idea to put you 20 meters away from the spot you died from. LOL I did okay, all things considered. But I think there's a lot of that type of game going around lately. I think they should address quality of life in PVP especially in Comp. Match making and glory points especially for solo. Make that mode more attractive to bring in more players. Make more guns up to snuff so even try hards don't feel pigeon holed to use NF and Luna's paired with a shotgun.

            • They need to make a couple nerfs. Luna and Forgotten need their rate of fire decreased. Spectral blades time needs to be docked 10-15%.

                • I’m also here out of motivation of watching cammycakes’ latest YouTube video. I love crucible. I have tens of thousands of kills in crucible to my name in D2 alone. That’s not because I’m special. That’s because I play so much crucible. I loved PVP in D1 and I’m here because I see the potential of PVP in D2. Heck, I enjoy PVP in D2! As a community of Destiny players, holy cow do we need to hear more from Bungie about their plans/timelines for updates to the PVP experience. I love comp but I hate losing points because I got thrown onto a losing team 3/4 of the way through a match. I’m glad they finally addressed Titan skating and one eyed mask, but Cozmo/Dmg/anyone out there at Bungie who might see this: please just at least let us know that you guys hear us asking for more feedback about PVP! When we hear nothing, how can we help but assume negative possibilities? Trials was so much fun in D1 for me, even if I only went flawless once through the help of a streamer! Is bungie working on the next big PVP experience? If the answer is no, that’s okay, bungie should do what it thinks is best. But we deserve to know, right? Don’t string us along. At least, that’s what I believe. Until we hear from you guys, I’ll keep hoping for the best, but every day it gets harder. For now, the changes to gambit look very promising! Hope everything is going well in the studio now that you guys are independent! I loved the Luke Smith comment in the vidoc about a “Bungie controlled Destiny,” and I hope that means we can expect more feedback and shake-ups regarding PVP!

                    • I just need to clarify somethings. One I play both pve and pvp, so i'm an in between. When people say "We need to remove pvp" or "they need to separate pvp and pve" What they're really saying is. Stop trying to force a marriage that will never work or happen. Let me explain. Pvp isn't just a gamemode as most people would led you to believe. Calling it just a "gamemode" is incredibly right and wrong. It's right because it is a game mode but it's wrong because gamemodes don't affect the core game as much as it is in destiny. Let me explain, PvP to many is the end game and since D2 launched that was and still is the end game. Sure you can say that forges and raids are endgame but that's all just fodder that you have to go through to get to the real end game, Aka pvp. What do I mean by that you say? Well, what's the reason we chase loot? to get better loot. Now, why do we get loot? So we can stay competitive in pve and pvp. What's the point of getting loot that never changes how we play in pve though? So all pve players are doing is getting that roll that just helps them kill faster. aka kill clip or rampage because nothing else really helps. That's why perk diversity is a problem in the pve community. Bungie can't do anything about this though, why? Perks are directly connected to pvp. Almost all perks are balanced towards pvp. Guess why most perks don't really do anything useful. If one perk stands out too much guess what happens. PvP players notices it and complain about it. If one perk is too strong in pve then most people will just either go along with it or don't really care. I mean, I know Ikelos is strong but i really don't care enough to grind for it. A lot of people know it's strong but they don't care enough to grind for it since you can use the bare minimum and still be useful. However, in pvp if you don'tr have that certain roll you feel cheated. You feel as though someone won because they simply have a better roll than you. This was what Bungie was trying to do in D2 Y1 with no random rolls. Despite it being the worst time for Destiny it was the most "Balanced" for destiny. The only reason it failed was because of the meta which was group up and shoot anyone who dares look at your group. To all the people who say "Pvp never ruined pve" It has, it's called D2 Y1. Every change in the game from D1 to D2 was to balance pvp out. Just spend some time and think about it. Of course bungie set this up for themselves. They're the one who won't separate them. I'm not part of the, "ERADICATE PVP!!!" crowd. I simply believe they need to be separated so they can do their own thing. Removing PVP is removing a lot of players and I understand this so the only simple solution is to separate the two. Pvp is linked to the core gameplay and game flow. A pvp mode shouldn't have this much power over a game. Every change has to keep pvp in mind such as weapons balancing and exotics. Of course this could be said of pve as well. This is why I advocate for the separation of the two. If one thing leans too much towards one side it's off balance and disruptive. However if you find that middle ground it's, As a wise man once said, "Perfectly balanced, as all things should be." I actually planned on writing more but i'd rather not spend my time doing that. Just think about it, that's all. I don't hate pvp and will never condone the act of removing it but it does hold a lot of power over the game for just being, "a gamemode" that is optional. It affects the game as a whole.

                    • Wanna know the funniest thing about PVP? The absolute most fun I’ve had was that first week after Xur sold Prometheus Lens, before it was nerfed. Literally everyone using the same weapon made the game so much less rage inducing. There were no meta, OP guns like Luna’s/NF, no shotguns. If you died, it was simply due to being outplayed because everyone was on a level playing field. It reminded me of the good ol days of pre-343 Halo. Entirely skill based.

                                • Dear Bungie, Please have quality life changes to Comp playlist, enhanced armor for crucible, and some balance changes in PVP for the next update. Please don't forget about PVP! There are many who enjoy and support PVP. Shout out to Cammycakes for another great video and encouraging the positive community of PVP to be heard on the forums.

                                  • This just an opinion but I think it was smart for bungie to focus more on PVE . Not saying that PVP is not worth it. Currently right now comp is place for most people just to do the Luna bounty. The meta is rampant everywhere. Higher tier of comp just turns into shotgun aping to the max.( me personally shotgunning gets pretty boring after a while). QuickPlay, well for me it’s been a mix bag of people playing g with fun load outs and then stack teams of 6 with LH/NF and DRBs just sweating it up in QuickPlay. Just makes it unfun. ( I get you can play however you want but just annoying sweating it out in QuickPlay) I live in the crucible but it has been lately turning me off to Destiny 2 . I’ll do some PVE stuff but I’m just not big in to that. Gambit was great in the beginning but after meta settled in and trying to solo queue it was just meh. Also right now how upset a lot of the community has been with crucible I’m not surprised if people move on the other shooters. For instance fortnite and Apex. Right now they are king when it comes to shooters. Many D2 YouTubers have made apex videos. They can sway crowds of people. These two BR games have a clear advantages as well. 1. There free(really easy to get other friend to play with you.) Destiny it’s a challenge trying get friends to play who don’t have it. Is 60 bucks worth it to play crucible and get stomp because you don’t know the game and meta is a rampant virus. 2.You can jump straight into a match and not have play a campaign or do other steps like getting decent gear or setting up a load out. 3. For a new player I’m pretty sure they will have more fun in these BR games with friends then in Destiny. If there’s a lack of players in PVP why should Destiny focused on that. Some people won’t come back. Better to focus more assets on PVE because it’s something really unique to Destiny. Gambit is a bit of both so it caters to both sides. BR games can’t really offer that. So I think Bungie madre a smart move focusing on PVE activitys
