Warlocks Underpowered in PVP

I am at the point where if you want to play PVP you have to play either Titan or Hunter to be useful at all. Unless you are just planning on using a shut down Super and that is it. Warlock's have: A shorter ranged melee and the slower melee Can be 1 shot in their Super from any other super Shut down Super or Roaming! or 1 shot by a shotgun. On the other hand though all you can do is run from Supers from Titan or Hunter and would have to have Hit them 3 times! with a Warlock super or a continuous duration of time trained on them (any Arc Super class in the Warlock tree) mean while all it takes to kill a warlock in their super is a [b]SINGLE [/b] hammer or swipe from a blade to knock a Warlock out of their super. In terms of power Warlock Supers are severely underpowered compared to Hunter's and Titans. Either Warlocks need to be brought up to Titan and Hunter's level or Titan and Hunter's need to be brought down to Warlock level. In PvE Warlocks are probably number 1, however in PvP they are underpowered enough that you are just handicapping yourself if you use them. Look at the numbers. Warlocks are the least played class in PvP. Especially in competitive. As a Warlock fan from Day 1 in Destiny 1 and somebody who likes to play PvP please give them a buff/second look from a PvP perspective. Learn the meaning of Balance! In PvP they are like the red headed step child that you're trying to ship off to military school to get rid of lol.

      • I feel warlocks are underwhelming in PvP in order to keep a kind of "balance" to the classes... Warlocks are gods of PvE and slightly above good in Gambit (they CAN clear adds, but dont have as reliable mechanics for doing so such as Tether or Hammers). If you look at Titans, they're pretty balanced across the board whilst being above average in Gambit (especially Hammer Titans, who are universally useful in Gambit). Hunters are absolute PvP gods. Their abilities and supers seem designed specifically to grant an edge in PvP, especially with the maps in D2. However, aside from a few outliers, their usefulness in PvE is a little more limited and the same can be said for Gambit. Each class now has a game mode where at least one subclass excels in and a game mode where another class would be more useful/preferable. I'm not saying it's impossible to do anything outside of this (like a really good Destiny player can wipe the floor in PvP with a warlock, or solo any PvE content minus raids) but the classes do seem to grant an edge in different game modes.

            • Umm Y'all have some great supers actually (nova bomb, dawn blade and storm trance IF used properly). Plus you can also warlock skate.

            • All classes are the same in crucible. It’s entirely dependent on the player. There are no classes that are suffering or what not in the crucible. That just means you aren’t good with that class.

              • Warlocks seem pretty decent to me now that Nova Warp had it's nuts clipped. Just need that Spectral Blades nerf and everyone will be sittin pretty in my opinion.

                  • They need a buff, but the thing about supers being able to be shut down by a single shotgun shot is not exclusive to warlocks. Thunder crash, golden gun, and many more can also be one shot by a shotgun. I agree with warlocks needing a buff, but don't use an argument that isn't supported by facts.

                    • The thing with warlocks is that theyre slow, and have a horrible jump In d1 they made up for that by having a longer melee range and really powerful grenades(axion bolt, storm nade ect) and really powerful supers But in d2 theyre slow with no up sides, their melee is the same as other classes, grenades are terrible in general, and the supers are meh Warlocks should have a lower cooldown on abilities built in with no mods and those abilities should be more powerful then both the other classes, or they need to seriously buff warlocks movement A wizard style class needs strong abilities with op supers, imo the warlock supers should be op asf, but lower health, novewarp should be changed back but nerf the armor even more then it is now They should be a glass cannon not a metal slingshot

                      • "my class sux cuz I run 5 super mods" Warlock neutral game is S tier on most subclasses. There is one class, Spectral Blades, that is better. Every time you see a hunter running 5 super mods and pump action just remember, that was your class 2 months ago

You can't be one shot by a shotgun in your super doesn't matter which one you are running. All shutdown supers will (as the name implies) shutdown any super not just warlock ones. There are no non-shutdown supers that can one shot other supers(aside from 3 shot Goldie, which takes a headshot and a decent amount of skill). In terms of power Warlock Supers are severely underpowered compared to Hunter's and Titans. Either Warlocks need to be brought up to Titan and Hunter's level or Titan and Hunter's need to be brought down to Warlock level. They are the worst class in PvP consistently due to mostly their lack of mobility.                         • 100% agree with a buff that is required for PVP. Your info is on and off but I still agree. Why do we melee slower? Makes no sense. Right now as it stands we have some of the worst supers for PVP. Dawnblade? Yeah its good. But that hit registration though? Know how many times Ive hit people and got 100 damage? Ever seen a golden gun hit you for 100 damage? Nova Warp got butcherd. Stormcaller is COMPLETE garbage against all supers. Dont @ me saying "oh you can just teleport" . Stfu you cant teleport and kill spectral aids.

                            • Warlocks were given the middle ground for their supers. The titans are more heavily focused on power and it's why they have, typically, less efficiency than the Hunter or warlock supers. The warlocks supers, at least when comparing to the titans and hunters, are typically "safer" to use, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are good. Stormcaller is a ranged hitscan mobile super that ticks down target health but has heavy multi kill potential. Dawnblade is a faster but less powerful sunbreaker, more mobile without as a base and can use the air to attack targets from a safe distance. Nova warp (is ass now) is basically stormcaller fused with striker, it's mobile, it was powerful, had a very unpunishing aoe attack and even it's neutral game is greatly complimented by it's power. Chaos reach, is hard to use in crucible, but certainly not bad. Well of radiance isn't for PvP anyways. With how much "safer" the warlocks supers are, they definitely should NOT have the power of a titans super. But, I also don't think they should be so limited in mobility during super if they aren't going to be powerful. There has to be a proper balance with the supers otherwise it's just obnoxious. Most titan supers consume a lot of energy per attack so they typically don't last very long, but they Wil wreck your shit if you get to close. A warlocks supers are built more for...safety as each skill tree has at least 1 super with an evasive move. It would be kind of unreasonable for warlocks to get a high damage, long lasting, safe super. It's why nova warp was so unbelievably difficult for some to fight. It one shotted supers, it lasted longer than any other super in the game as a base, it had a spammable evasive that really didn't use too much energy, it was also constantly moving while you attacked with it. They need to fix the dawnblades hit detection, increase stormcaller super fighting capabilities a little, make chaos reach more controllable, improve nova warps duration (because the only thing it really needed was a nerf to PvP damage and reduce the idle duration), and improve nova bombs blast radius on vortex. Neutral game could use some work too, but that's a different subject.

                                  I just think there should be something to compensate for the ridiculously bad jump. But there isnt, we're just titans with a worse jump, exotics and one good roaming super as dawnblade.

                                  • I main hunter and i love taking my warlock into pvp just because they nerd warp they are useless tbh i never played warp since the go fast update dawnblade became a thing and its always fun to use i think all classes are on the same roll.
