Literally just created this account to post this and hopefully Bungie can see this. This is how toxic this community is. Something needs to change.
The pic is the last thing he posted, showed it to me after what had happened.
I was so lucky to get to my brother in time before he did something stupid. He nearly took his own life tonight because he was so upset about what has happened to him. Everyone has treated him with such disrespect and animosity since his last forum post, that he got disciplinary action put against him. He can’t post on forums anymore, even though it shows on his profile he’s able to post. He feels he’s just getting ignored, but in reality, his posts aren’t publicly showing.
He has mental disabilities and takes a lot of things VERY SERIOUSLY. So when people ridicule him and call him out, treat him like crap, and tell him to KILL HIMSELF, he will literally take those comments to heart. He has violated the Code of Conduct, but he doesn’t know better sometimes. He has learned over time what is appropriate, and what is not. But this last post he put up DID NOT violate the Code of Conduct. It was a social experiment, but didn’t violate anything.
Bungie, if this is what you think is okay, then you’ve got a problem as a company. You can’t report these players’ by using a broken reporting system in-game. It takes far too long to have consequences given.
It’s ridiculous it’s against the Code of Conduct to post player names in forums. You should be able to give player names in the feedback section of this platform, and tag “moderation” (or even have a moderation tab) so that they have an easier time looking for specific players who have violated the code of conduct, and being able to look at the players’ history, whether it be messaging on the website/app, posting content in forums, replying to posts, or even cheating in-game, then being able to post proof by uploading images/footage directly to the site, to prove that they violated the code, then moderation can give them the proper consequence, if they deserve one that is.
My brother nearly took his own life tonight because nothing was done. He can’t post anymore, he can’t play play with clans anymore, and he’s given up on blocking/reporting someone that won’t get a consequence. Change your policies and reporting system and get rid of the toxic a-holes before this becomes worse than it needs to be Bungie.
This is his favorite game to play, and now he doesn’t want to bother playing because he is being punished by harassment, people pushing him away, including you Bungie.
Fix this.
Update 1:
I've seen a repeated amount of comments so here is what I'm going to clear up.
1) My brother has autism. He doesn't know boundaries and the consequences that are given when said boundaries are crossed. He has been punished again, we've taken away his games again and will no longer play this game, due to the negativity he's experienced in the game.
2) What he did with the "social experiment" post was unforgiveable. We took his stuff away for a few weeks to have him understand the consequences of his actions. He redacted the post because we told him to do so. Obviously, people in this world can't let go of the past, so they are going to continue to ridicule him, which is pathetic behavior. With this recent suicide attempt, we've taken the stuff away permanently.
3) He's been getting professional help for a few months now, so stop saying that he needs it.
4) This IS an alt account. He and I played this game on that main account "An0nYm0uSxJAMSK8" but i played Destiny 1 up until TTK. Got bored after the content drought, and moved onto PC. He continued playing on that account, but switched back and forth to Xbox. Ever since D2 released, he's been playing only on PS4. But with all of this, I've had to manage all his online activity, including logins/passwords, subscriptions to his games/websites, and his gaming time. If I hear he goes berserk in ANY game, we pull the plug for the day. He doesn't take it very well, if you have autistic kids/family, you should understand what we go through.
5) Lastly, I created this alt account to be able to post in the forums, since he can't do it on the original one. Anyone who says he deserves to die, even though it was a mistake for what he did, will be punished, and I will see to it personally if it comes down to it. No one deserves this cruelty. He posted something that he shouldn't have, he's been punished, both online and IRL, yet, still is told to kill himself by deadbeats who don't know the real life consequences for saying that to someone. He has no criminal record, he never hurt anyone, but is treated like he was serial killer.
Move on haters and trolls, or you're names will be added to the list and accused of attempted murder.

Edited by zSwabee: 2/19/2019 7:14:16 AMOk so it’s become fairly obvious after reading the post and some of the comments that this is the same guy from a couple days ago who posted that his brother died of cancer and he went to the forums to tell people to stop playing destiny. I had my suspicions about that post but now I’m sure. -blam!- this guy. He uses REAL problems like cancer and suicide to hate on destiny. It’s disgusting and pathetic and he deserves to be banned and have the everlasting shit beaten out of him. Do not be fooled by the fake edits, this is the same guy and he’s trying to cover his ass after making an alt account that people saw through almost immediately. Make no mistake, this guy is a price of shit, just downvote, report him and move on.

I think the part you're messing up on is letting someone who can't handle that level of stress on the internet. Ask any gamer who's played any online game ever how many threats/hate mail they have received. I've received hate all the time from sore losers, kids who cry nerf, and once a threat from a racist. Now I personally (to each their own) have incredibly thick skin. NOTHING a stranger on the internet says to me is going to ruin my day. In fact it'll make my day. But that's just me. Welcome to the internet. For your brother's health he should not be allowed on the internet if he can't handle it.
-
2 RepliesI just don’t understand why he would get upset over this. Learn to ignore. And if this is fake, and you’re using suicide as a way to get publicity?! That’s offensive. To me and to others.
-
Stay off any and all social media and just move on. You can still live a happy life without it.

Excuses...

Can you point out on a doll exactly where the internet touched your bother?

10 RepliesThere is no brother. He makes the same spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes in the same exact spot. Even if it was true I'm glad your "brother" got what came to him. What kind of asshat goes around posting that he has cancer just for the sympathy? Tons of people are going through such things but don't post "social experiments" to try and get a bunch of strangers to care for them. This is insulting to the people who have cancer and lost a loved one to cancer. Again, even if he does, he's a -blam!-ing selfish -blam!-ing twat to sit there and demand sympathy like this. My father and grandfather both died because of cancer. This kind of selfish, spoiled, childish shit for likes and lawls is appalling. I hope you not only get banned from the forums but I hope someone out there beats the -blam!- out of you and your brother for doing this.

Edited by RingersCheckmate: 2/19/2019 1:00:38 AMI’ve been hate messaged to kill myself too, to uninstall my game and once a threat to kill my family. Those stories were while playing for honor. Those guys might’ve gotten a com ban at best when I reported them in game and on xbox. This isn’t a destiny community problem, but a gaming community problem. Edit, looks like there’s more to the story that I missed, but I can tell the brother part is made up.

This post was probably a more fun way to waste the day than playing D2.

1 ReplyMaking such posts and blaming it all on an imaginary brother..... Pharmacy's must love you.
-
1 ReplyIf this is actually real, and isn’t some sort of fake set up. Then shame on this community, but I mean, I wouldn’t be here in the first place for stuff like that. Been here 4 years, this community is super toxic, and I don’t blame em. Same bullshit for years. If this is fake, then -blam!- you for the set up.

Edited by TuxyDoh: 2/19/2019 1:46:30 AM
Anyone who says he deserves to die, even though it was a mistake for what he did, will be punished, and I will see to it personally if it comes down to it.
Report the posts and move on, anything else is not going to help your situation. Clearly Bungie does respond to reports as the account in question is restricted from posting. You literally are just making the situation worse with your efforts and replies. Threats such as the one I bolded can easily be read to have different meanings and some of which are not much better than what you are accusing others of.

2 RepliesI was there when the initial post that caused all of this was made, and I watched the fallout occur in real time. I even remember messaging the user in question about his actions. Let's just get this out of the way, the people who are sending harassment to this user are not in the right, harassing people is wrong and you shouldn't do it and if you target and harass users and tell them to commit suicide you deserve to be banned. That being said, what you're seeing is not how the community treats its members, what you're seeing is how the community treats liars. The user in question did a very bad thing, and then tried to walk it back and never truly apologized for trying to deceive the community at large. He lied, and when the community understandably responded with negativity he proceeded to pass himself off as the victim in all of this. I'm not saying that what's happening is okay, but there is a reason for what's happening to and he alone is responsible for this, nobody made him do what he did, he did it to himself. He had enough awareness to spin that tale and them had enough awareness to realize how bad it looked and try to cover it up. He could have avoided all of this by simply not lying. If he wants action, he can report users and mute them. I will say this, if the user in question tried to take his own life, and you are in fact his brother, maybe instead of coming to the forums to state how bad the community is, you should be by his side in this trying time. Assuming that you aren't just him posting under a different account.

Hahahaha how is cyber bullying real just walk away from the screen or close your eyes haha

Here’s the thing man; you guys messed up. It happens to all of us. We have all done things that we shouldn’t. But, instead of saying sorry guys we messed up, it was a stupid thing to do and we won’t do it again. You doubled down and said it was an experiment. You would have received a lot less grief if you just came clean from the beginning. Yes, there would still be trolls and griefers, but you would have a clear conscience and it would affect you guys so much less. Even on the webs, people can smell bull shit a mile away. Even that clan that was kicking people at the end of the raid would have caught a whole lot less slack than they did if they just manned up and said sorry, we messed up. We won’t do it again. If the case with your brother is true, you have my sympathy and I hope he gets the help he needs. Just try to let this be a lesson and never use a possible terminal illness for gain. People have a real hard time accepting that as a joke or experiment. Good luck in the future man.

2 RepliesThe only community left in the Destiny franchise are streamers (who should get real jobs) and tryhard no-life gamers. BUNGIE won't survive financially with just those groups. Which explains why so many BUNGIE staff are interviewing for other jobs right now.
-
1 ReplyWhy are nutjobs allowed on here unsupervised in the first place? If you let a crazy person post on here with no limits, you get what you get. No different than letting Jeffery Dahmer or Karla Homolka on here. Autism is not a medical excuse for posting questionable content. If the person is that seriously afflicted they need supervision. Let crazy people post, and you get what you deserve.
-
Judging on the previous comments, I understood why the community is being “toxic” to your bro- I mean... you.
-
This game is done. The only people left in this game are the scumbags and the bottom of the barrel. Barring the odd few good people left which is getting rarer. Community is stale and the players also!
-
2 RepliesYou sent him to a facility? You are a TERRIBLE human being. Just as bad if not worse than those bullying your brother.
-
A social experiment on cancer? You're brother is mental. You haven't done an even close job of protecting or monitoring what he does. After seeing your responses to other posts; you're deluded.
-
Sorry to hear that man. -blam!- these trolls. I personally only troll when somebody is complaining about nerfs or crying "OP" or in off topic where I know the people are joking. In short, I know how to read a room. Praying for you guys.
-
This is social media. Everyone gets trolled no matter what they say. Honestly it’s not a Destiny/Bungie thing, it’s every forum and social media platform on the internet.
-
2 RepliesThats horrible. But honestly, some people especially ones with mental disabilities should NOT be playing video games AT ALL. Especially multiplayer games because just like social media, the community can be extremely toxic. This is not on bungie to fix, this is on YOU. Get your brother professional help and/or restrict him from interacting online because he obviously cant handle the worst side of it.
-
1 ReplyThat sucks. This is how the internet is. Maybe reduce or eliminate how much time your brother has access to the internet or these forums if your brother is that sensitive to bad feedback. It is easier to monitor your brothers access vs monitoring the whole worlds responses.
