What happened to the exotic drop rate?
It's seemed fine a month ago, I've been grinding out my past two armor pieces for my warlock and I've had zero drops in a week in a half. Before that I was getting duplicates of vigilance wing and hard light. Anyone else having a hard time getting drops? Or am I just riding the bad luck bus atm?

The closer you get to end game, the less that happens while you play. The algorithms are designed to punish not reward.

Drop rates are [i]fine[/i]! I managed to get Synthoceps, Hallowfire Heart, Doom Fang Pauldrons, and Cerberus+1 within the last [i]3 months[/i]! Who cares if I [i]already[/i] had those exotics in my inventory and that they came with trash perks? It's not like I [i]really want[/i] to try out Wavesplitter or anything... ::Curls up into a ball in the corner of the room and sobs quietly::

1 ReplyHere at Bungie we have found a bug in the system regarding exotic drop chances, and are implementing a fix for this. Currently exotics are dropping at an increased rate which isn’t what we intended to happen, this fix will adjust exotics by decreasing their drop chance by 70% with a 80% at duplicates. See we want exotics to feel EXOTIC and this change will surely prove that.

1 ReplyIt’s RNG using it for all rewards sucks and makes your game less fun. They use it for all rewards, even the quest lines have RNG in them.

They either borked drop rates in a recent patch or hotfix, or they, at the very least, reversed that dupe protection thing they implemented a few months ago, cuz that isn't working, either. Prolly broke it alongside those frames they did not too long ago. :/

Of my 1500 hours I've got 830 on titan trying to get OEM. It's getting to the point where I'm starting to not like playing the game...anyway. what works for me is switching between characters. Next session use a different one from your last session normally an exotic will drop within 2 or 3 hours. Switch characters again as soon as you get. Most times the second one comes pretty quick. Now about those dupes.......

2 RepliesHave been running only warlock for 2 months trying to get my last armor exotic, as I do average 4-5 exotic drops weekly on this toon, you would think I would have received it by now. NOPE. Last week I got a double exotic drop, both were tractor cannon. This has happened a lot in 2 months btw. Duplicate drops are what is killing me. I have been forced to use the same toon weekly for 2 months, instead of being able to enjoy all 3. I have all but given up on this game for awhile. Not to mention they have nerfed the crap out of certain toons and pampered/catered to 1 in particular. After they said less dup exotics, no nerfing. It's like Bungie tells you they fixed it but really didn't bother

It does feel like they turned the drop rate back down a bit, but nah Bungie never stealth nerfs anything.

I can only say that I have had a very good week so far. Two days ago,I got Jotunn and later same day Antaeus Wards. -and now I´m always finish with Malfeasance quest,but that´s another story :)

It has been well over a month and a half since i have received an exotic drop for my hunter. I have yet to get the Trinity Ghoul and Shards of Galanor and i have been playing since Forsaken dropped. I think the last exotic i got to drop was the freakin Foetracer which i have already. They need to update Xur or buff drop rates, this is getting ridiculous.

I cant remember the last time I had an exotic, I remember getting one like 3-4 weeks ago.

I haven’t had an exotic drop in months. Do they not drop from anything else besides raids and nightfalls? I do all the weekly stuff besides that.

Im leveling up a hunter now and I got two exotics throughout the campaign all the way up to Forsaken end. One world drop and one as a reward. Both Raiden Flux. Didnt use Spark of Light.

Yeah I’ve recently haven’t had an exotic drop for me but I blame it on myself for not exhausting my powerful rewards and mixing the activity completions. Aside from all that Bungie needs to seriously focus on reworking old exotic gear.

More exotics got added to the pool, which indirectly lead to a glitch which further increased the rarity of the drops.

Some weeks you get tons some you get none. I only got a single exotic over two weeks, but the week after I got a total of 9 followed by 7 in the following week

I haven't seen a piece of Forsaken exotic armor yet. There's nothing wrong with a drop rate that doesn't exist.

The exotic drop rate is in the same place as the promise not to nerf stuff.
