Use the forest to bring D1 raids into D2 but add some twists, reskin the map and add two or three new mechanics into each of them. Nothing crazy just slightly different.
It could give you time for new content while giving players something else to do, make players happy, explain why it's in destiny 2, make Osiris storyline possibly better if you have Osiris be the one to inform you that you need to beat these bosses because those darn Vex are at it again, it lets players have fun when trying out the difference in abilities/supers and maybe players have to come up with new strategies to complete these D1 raids with D2 gear, D1 raid gear with a vex twist also could be added for rewards.
Edit: If there is no way for this to happen through the infinite forest or you will not add old raids because of double payment for content, maybe at least continue the storylines of every raid with new full-sized raids and long replayable missions.

2 RepliesIf you want to play D1 raids, go to D1. A fun idea, but the hours they would have to spend putting old content into the game for no reason wouldn’t be worth when you can 1. Play them in a different setting still and 2. Play new content instead

Black armory exists Forums: "Bungie stop making us play old content!" also forums "I want to play even older content! Use your resources and time to let us do so in a game we don't like!"

Edited by FauxPhox: 2/6/2019 7:45:29 PMI just want Fatebringer, Mythoclast, and all classes Age of Triumph raid gear. It was all beautiful, and gave me real incentive to raid. Bungie, for the trillionth time - the Infinite Forest fits perfectly as means to bring old raids back over with Y3 loot tables. I'd be willing to give you 15$ for all of them in a bundle. Not like you're creating new content, merely porting it over and making it work in D2.

Vault of Glass is a raid I never got to do in full. I would love to have a revamped version for the infinite forest.! BUMP BUMP BUMP

Community: "what an interesting idea!" Bungie: "Ok team how can we exploit this in the next game or future dlcs while ignoring any logical posts or community backlash?"

6 Repliesi kinda want the forest to simulate Mara Sov naked

1 Replywith how good the raids we get each time we get one id rather not have the old ones take up any development time for new content. at the end of the day those raids are already in d 1 waiting for people to do.
-
yes yes yes this this this
-
Legitimately had the same idea and posted iT and it got to 1000 likes and disappeared it is an amazing idea this is something I wholeheartedly agree with sharing around
-
You can just make VoG or Crota and package it with any bundle including osiris
-
I'd like the idea of d1 VoG being a simulation itself... the real vault (unknown) being the source of the vex/core minds - the simulation was designed as a means to test defensive measures! Imagine the raid changing to combat how we beat it in d1, to combat how it was attacked by the fallen and the taken! Imagine a whole area post atheon... imagine the potential end of the vex!!

1 ReplyIn the whisper of the work quest there’s a portal to the Vault of Glass

YES YES YES YES!

1.} How about what if simulations: being able to time travel and board and save the Exodus Black from destruction. Fight off the enemy boarding party that took it down. 2.} Time travel to just before the attack on Earth that caused the Apocalypse. Would us being their and joining the fight have made a difference. 3.} Going back in time and catching the Beatles in Concert. LOL !

The forest can't simulate paracausal powers, oryx and crota would be out of the question. Hell even atheon, templar, and the gorgons are highly doubtful because they have ontological powers that are unique to the vault.
-
3 RepliesYou really think it's a good idea to simulate Atheon in the infinite forest?
-
3 RepliesI had hoped to see so much more out of this place than just a few story missions and a couple strikes. I mean, the possibilities with what Bungie could have done was literally endless. I would like to do more adventuring in the past and future and also make work with Osiris more to better understand the forest.

Never got to play Destiny 1. Would love to play those old raids.

Edited by ZoniCat: 2/7/2019 12:42:11 AMI'd prefer it to be an endless mode where you explore different tiles with different challenges and hidden loot each time, providing you buffs for the rest of the run, kind of like a dungeon crawler. An example:
You enter the infinite forest, enemies are level 650. The first couple tiles are generated, including 2 with hidden chests, 1 with a boss fight, and 1 with a puzzle. The 2 hidden chests reward you with buffs for the rest of the session, things like +5% outgoing damage and -5% incoming damage, or -5% ability cooldown speeds and +5% movement speed. And these can stack infinitely. The puzzle room has set rules based on which puzzle it is, but the exact answer to the puzzle changes every time due to the RNG nature of the event. This means you can look up a guide on how to solve the puzzle, but can't actually use one for each and every scenario. The puzzle would reward more permanent gear, perhaps armor. The bosses would have mechanics, but obviously bungie can only design so many boss encounters with unique mechanics. So I'd recommend at or near the start of the run, the bosses are mere bullet sponges or have very simple mechanics, but as the run continues, those same bosses gain more and more mechanics. An example;

Xylar, The Timeless (Forest Depth 1): Large Healthpool, 360 Hydra Shield, can only be damaged from above or below. Xylar, The Timeless (Forest Depth 4): retains 360 Shield, but now can only be damaged by players standing on specific plates. Xylar, The Timeless (Forest Depth 8): Retains all previous mechanics, but also has an immunity shield that can only be taken down for 10 seconds at a time by throwing an orb at it that drops from a difficult to kill respawning elite enemy. Xylar, The Timeless (Forest Depth 12): Retains all previous mechanics, but now it has x10 health, but players can gain stacks of decaying "Time's Revenge" by standing within specific vex gates, and each stack increases player damage by 100%, up to a maximum of 1400% (Or x15 damage)
Bungie will do something like this but it won’t happen until 80% of the player base is gone
-
I’d like that, if I still had a team to even Raid with. They left pre-Forsaken and haven’t been back since.
-
I made this suggestion like this in the past year. I got a few “no that’s recycled old crap” and a few “yeah let’s have more content even if it’s old but fun.” It could fit the lore but not sure bungje wants to update the graphics as D1 is a bit different. Also have to update for pc as well.
-
That's not how the infinite forest works at all...
-
4 RepliesNot sure why people are saying just "jUsT gO pLaY DeStInY 1" The forest is supposed to be infinite bringing together both past, present and future. The thought of jumping into the portal with 5 of your clan mates and being surprised by which raid pops up would be incredible.

13 RepliesEdited by NerdslayerNo1: 2/6/2019 1:26:48 AMNo more reskins sold as new content. Last Word I’m looking at you. Make new content. I dont want to play D1 again.
