Bungie, why did you disable exotic dupe protection?
Title. I am missing about half of the exotics on each class, the last 5 exotics i recieved where dupes.
The droprate is so low, so its even more frustrating to get dupes...

These exotics were not duplicates because they all have random perk rolls . Working as intended .

I don't think they actually enabled it. All they did was make to drop rate next to non-existent. Also Xur is a worthless entity if no current year exotics are to be offered.

Only warlock exotic I need is geomags, and the last 12 drops have been “dupes”

Yeah drop rates are shit to hide lack of actual new exotics.

I'm convinced they've done with shards/gwisin vest what they did with gally. Lowered the drop rate in comparison to other exotics. I've had 7 mechaneers tricksleeves since forsaken dropped and I'm still missing the only two good PvP hunter exotics.
