Transmogrification (transmog) for those who do not know is a way to change the look of one piece to another but not changing stats etc of it, I started playing Destiny 2 a month or so ago now and really enjoy it, however I dont see the reason not to have transmog in the game shaders is nice and all but those gear pieces from earth and IO etc just go wated right now. And from my understanding the last dawning event was super grindy and for those that got that armor it’s just completely useless now without the random perks of forsaken, Its more reason to do old content, more reason to buy shaders, more time to kill in game if tou enjoy that, right now every hunter is a Reverie Dawn hunter. I do think that exptics should stay the same rhough. Special items like that is just nice flavour with stoey or what not. Apparantly Destiny players have been asking for this since the start, so why not? Havent even seen a response from bungie wven when really digging.

1 ReplySry dont agree, Bungie needs to stop being lazy and bring the old armor back from D2 Y1, if they can do it with the weapons they can do it with the armor. Also allow us to re-roll the stats on our armor why this was taken away was a bad idea. Lets also mention STOP PUTTING THE GOOD LOOKING ARMOR IN EVERVERSE!!!! The armor in this game is lack luster and just plain lazy. We should be able to look like our enemies, King's Fall Armor and Wrath of the Machine was the best looking in D1. Bungie needs to do more work for the Annual Pass when it comes to Armor.

3 RepliesIf this means I can get a gernade launcher that look a bow....i support this 100%. Honestly if it was even just an armor thing it would be great.
-
I also want transmogs ^^

1 ReplyExcelsior!

I kind of wish that, for exotic armor anyway, it wasn’t a specific piece of armor, but an item that gets applied to an armor of our choosing that gives that piece of armor the perk and makes it “exotic.” Even if it was still restricted to a specific piece of armor. Maybe it gets a glow or something. I just find some of the armor hideous or it has some part of it that doesn’t change with shaders.
-
We’ve wanted this for a long time but alas, we throw it into the bucket with ability to change hairstyles and appearance suggestion. The bucket of shit that makes sense but Bungie won’t add.
-
My armor would be all white or green gear.
-
Wow, I haven't seen one of these posts since everyone just came to peace with the fact that it wouldn't happen in Destiny 1...
-
The Calvin and Hobbes reference is on point.

1 ReplyId be down to change how certain armor looks. Probably not exotic armor or guns though. They should be left as is so you can visually see what you are fighting against in crucible. Like if they are wearing AC/DC Feedback Fence or Helm of Saint 14.
-
transmog would only work on legendary and below gear. Too much visual queues are needed to read people’s load outs in PvP to make it worth the effort for exotics.
-
This definitely needs to be a thing. Tons of great looking gear has been thrown out or left collecting dust in the vault because it doesn't have viable perks.

1 ReplyEdited by TechnoKat: 12/12/2018 5:03:08 PMI'm gonna re-quote myself on this topic. I've had a discussion with another player already and I'm gonna start by opening up with a disclaimer. I do not disagree with the idea of having Xmogs in Destiny, in fact, I'm baffled.... kinda(?) as to why they weren't there to begin with. The following spoilers will go on to explain the "issue" with having Transmogrification in Destiny. Forwarrning: There are just multiple posts and replies stitched together. It's going to seem jumbled.
It's a great idea, but.. and I know that this is going to sound like me being a sarcastic asshole but I'm being 100% real with you. It wouldn't make it in to the game because that would cut down on the average persons playtime. BUNGiE is interested in inflating player's time spent in the game by any means possible and what you've proposed is a system that would eliminate hours of playtime that people spend trying to get, let's just say, a full set of Reverie of Dawn gear with all the HC targeting, Loading, Scavenger etc, etc perks. Allowing players to skin over the armor without having to give up the perk rolls means that they could go and find any piece of gear with the perks they want and just hit it with an X-mog and poof. Grind averted. Which is honestly some major bullshit because this system is literally how every other online game with RPG elements in it utilizes this 'infusion' thing BUNGiE thinks is so great and I know lots of people, myself included, would be very happy to see this implemented. You see, BUNGiE's current endgame consists of giving players an activity in which they can play, and replay with the intention of getting God Rolls on the piece of gear they like the looks of. Sure, it doesn't take too long to get a full set of Raid Armor, but to get a full set of raid armor with all of the perks you want on it is a whole other story. Let's just use Last Wish for an example. If you just want to get the armor, then you have a 1 in 14 chance of getting the drop you're after. 1 in 14 isn't bad, but it's also not great considering that you can, and will, get duplicate drops. But if you want specific rolls, that chance suddenly skyrockets. to 1 in 161 each time you get a drop. That is to say, a 0.62% chance per drop to get the exact combination of perks on the piece of gear you are after. And that is the high ball number, I'm only accounting for the number of perks and the number of drops in Last Wish not the number of different perk combinations you can get. Those aren't good odds. However, if you simply only need to get the right stats and no longer have to worry about the appearance of the gear you're after, that number is drastically improved because now you can use any piece of gear it becomes a matter of 20 in 161 (the Twenty different armor sets in the game since the extra perk slot of Forsaken was introduced and the total 161 possible perks it is to roll) or 12.42%. and again, this is technically seriously wrong math that gives us a friggen huge number compared to the actual in-game statistics because I'm not accounting for the combinations of perks but simply the number of perks themselves. Just by introducing appearance changes you increase the chance of getting the perfect set of armor by some thousand or so percent. Which is seriously bad for BUNGiE's already content-sparse game. I just want to be clear, I'm not saying your idea is bad. You idea is fantastic and would make Destiny 2 so much better. I'm just explaining why BUNGiE wouldn't let it happen. For starters, BUNGiE would then have to create those rewards and not just sell them in Eververse like we both know they would be inclined to do. Secondly, that isn't enough to make up for the difference in time inflation. You see the Beauty (Read: Horror) of that percentage table I glossed over earlier, is that you are never guaranteed anything. You have a 0.62% chance (Still not accurate, just an example) and that doesn't increase over time. Every drop you get nails you exactly 0.62% chance to give you what you want no matter how many times you get the drop. Every single drop is 0.62%. you have less than a 1% chance 5 times a week to get what you want. Now, I'm gonna cop out here for a second because I am so not about to do the math to give you an actual number of drops you would do to virtually get every single perk combination possible from those drops, but I want you to know that it's at least in the hundreds of thousands if not in the millions. Which is the issue. If BUNGiE's goals are to inflate player time as much as possible why would they trade a potentially endless timesink for a one-and-done cosmetic run. This is why not all Exotics in the game have a quest. If they all had a quest then players would have every exotic in a finite amount of time as opposed to the indefinite amount of time people are already spending trying to get that last, sneaky exotic they need to complete their collection. It's just not what BUNGiE is trying to do. Giving players a reachable goal means that players will eventually reach it and maybe stop playing until the new thing is out and they have another goal. BUNGiE wants them to have a goal that has no definite means to reach because that means that they will continue to chase it until they realize that it's almost impossible and even then, some people treat that like it's a good thing and most keep playing anyway.
If you don't want the wall of text version the TL;DR is basically: BUNGiE just wants you to keep playing until your arms fall off so that they make their concurrent player quota. It's all about inflation and Xmogs would do the exact opposite of what BUNGiE's agenda calls for. EDIT: I'm gonna nip this in the bud before it starts, but. YES, BUNGiE has said that the reason Xmogs aren't a thing 'because PVP' but I can promise you all that that's not even close to the truth of the matter. It's purely a matter of getting that quota made and keeping people playing in the hopes that they'll keep giving up their money.

1 Replybump - trasmog for all but exotics and possibly raid gear.
-
I'm sick of asking for this and bungie blowing us off.
-
Yes please!
-
Please....pretty please

-
We’ve asked for this since D1 but Bungie doesn’t seem to care.

Bump bumpy bump

1 ReplyTrans mog would be fantasitc i want use saint 14 helm and still use snytoceps
-
The game needs this desparately. With the new shitty grind and random rolls it’s near impossible to look good anymore.
-
3 RepliesPretty sure Bungie is incapable of this, or we'd have had it by now. Been requested for over 4 years
-
This is a staple of true MMOs, and should have been included from day one. Bungie is either too lazy or too inept to incorporate this, I suspect.
-
I've been wanting transmog in this game for a long time. It's been a huge success in WoW, and to those who have concerns about things like exotics in PvP, there are simple restrictions that can be made to certain items. As the game is now, we have so many great looking pieces of armor in our collections (why have them if you don't have a reason to use them?) that never get used! A perfect example are the Solstice armor sets that we got before Forsaken. We went through the effort of 3 weeks to get them upgraded and acquire the glows for each piece, but was rendered useless the moment Forsaken dropped because of the changes in the perks/mods. With transmog, you could wear that ugly god roll armor piece but only change the appearance so it matches the armor set or look you want to have. No longer would being a powerful guardian and looking good doing it be diametrically opposed! Make it happen, Bungie!
